the v8b is the currently version or the november update?

Developer(+1)

It's the October update, it's the latest version currently available. V9 will be uploaded for early access on my Subscribestar account in a couple of days and will be available to all on December 10th.

(+1)

thank you god bless you! xD

(+1)

When will v4 be uploaded I'ma waiting from the morning

Developer(+1)

Just woke up, give me 30 minutes or so.

(+1)

How do you actually get the H scenes. I'm new to minesweeper and have no idea how?

Developer(+1)

When an exclamation mark appears on the map, head to the tile to see the event. Some scenes require a certain number of levels to be completed before they become available. There's a new version coming on the 9th, so you might want to wait for the new release before trying the game again.

thanks

Is there no actual sex in this version of game or am i missing something?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

There's 5 vaginal or oral penetration scenes in v3.

Play: Accepting the quest was a little difficult, the game froze for a second and then I'm not sure what I actually clicked on to get the quest to progress. Also, agreed that a tutorial is a good thing to add to the update list- I only started really understanding how the game worked on the very last turn of my first try lol. (I also forgot how to play minesweeper itself for a bit but that is on me.) The actual gameplay is very clever, though, I really enjoyed the unique take on the minesweeper mechanics once I figure it out. I accidentally took the sixth mission as my fourth mission because I was clicking too fast, and got stuck... T_T I'll have to start a new save and do things in order. That being said, I always love a good chain of trades, so this hits the spot lol.

Aesthetic: Everything is very cute. The art is one of this game's biggest strengths- the chibis, the portraits, and the environments. I really wish there was a way to exit fullscreen, I write these as I play so I don't miss anything and the forced-fullscreen made this one really difficult.

Sound: Perplexing choice of title theme. That's definitely one of the Gymnopedies... I don't know them by number, but it's whichever of the three I'm least familiar with lol. Hearing that when I loaded up the game changed my expectations immediately... and then the music for the rest of the game was exactly what I'd expected from the screenshots, more energetic and game-like. What were you going for with that? The rest of the music is stock music, but it's high quality and well-picked so good job on that. I would say maybe turn the volume down a skosh at certain points, it makes it difficult to hear the sfx.

Narrative: The characters are a little archetype-y, but not so much as to be annoying. Is this supposed to be a modern DnD-inspired setting? What with the elf-looking chick and the guild? It's pretty cool, and the quests seem a little

Horny: I didn't see much there, although I already read the post that made it clear that there's missing content in this category.

Kink: I had to look up what NTR is, and tbh I don't exactly get it? Like, is one of the girls in a relationship with Percy? Or did I not see that part come into play yet, and the existing content is just voyeurism? Points for 'I haven't heard of this'.

Stealth: I would say that the aforementioned missing content bug artificially inflates its score in this category lol. As it is, it's more flirty than explicit- were it not for the helpful disclaimers on the game page, I'd be a little puzzled. (...pun semi intended.)

Harmony and Novelty: This scores high in both categories! The 'minesweeper rpg' idea is new and inventive, and it's also very well-executed. The lack of tutorial definitely gave me pause, but it's designed intuitively enough that once I understood the 'send the girls places' mechanic I understood everything very fast.

Final Thoughts: Sorry this took so long! D:

Developer(+1)

I really appreciate the detailed review! I'm glad to hear that the art and gameplay resonated with you.

It is quite possible to play through the game without encountering any sexual content, especially if you take additional days on the first few missions. This is partially intentional design and partially lack of fine-tuning.

wow, this was really a lot of fun!

there was an issue with the dialogue on the right panel being cut off on my screen so i had to imagine part of what people were saying.

i didn't always imagine right so it wasn't always clear to me what i was supposed to do. but i eventually figured it out! not fast enough to finish all of the quests before summer was over, but... close enough.

Developer

I was dreading that this could become a problems at smaller screen resolutions. One of the harder issue to fix, but definitely something I'll need to look into.

I'm happy you found it fun despite the rather major bug. Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

I'm suprised by how many different quest scenarios you managed to make with the elements given. I was fully expecting there to be only three levels for this jam, before it hits you with an extra character and three new quests. The way the background music dims during "evaesdropping" scenes is a nice touch too.

Developer

Thank you! I'm really happy with the how the sound filter during events turned out too. I wanted to emphasize those scenes somehow without changing the music track.

I really like working with a limited number of parts when designing puzzles. For a lot of the later quests I approached the design from the point of making something a rare resource. I then backtrack from the rare resource of the quest by adding a series of exchanges that lead up to that goal, using existing locations and materials wherever I can. I've also made sure to add alternative exchange routes to almost every quest so that there's rarely just a single correct solution.

There's a total of eight quests. Two more unlock after you finish "Artifact Acquisition" and any one other. Check them out if you haven't, they feature riddles in addition to the regular item swapping mechanics.

Graphics are great, and I dig the gameplay concept too - very interesting! Even though NTR isn't my cup of tea, I had fun with the game, and that really speaks for it.

I quite like the aesthetic and kink of the game. But, my biggest detraction is getting stuck waiting and having to burn turns until the NPC move again. Especially when it happens shortly after giving a character a missions.  However, I do like the interactions. You have quite a well made game.

Edit: My boyfriend suggest adding a wait option. It would definitely be useful to pass time while waiting for the one character I need to be free/ready to act.

Developer

Thanks for playing! A lot of the values for interaction are fairly unbalanced in this version.  There's a few scenes that are very difficult to see, simply because there isn't enough time for to build up to them. Cooldowns for map events getting triggered are also too short at the moment. I will probably add some sort of fatigue system in the future where the event timer get longer after each consecutive occurrence on the map.

A wait button is a good idea and will almost certainly get added in the next build. I do sort of like how the characters sometimes get distracted during missions, it fits the theme too well. Instead I will probably add some code to prevent that from happening during their first couple of moves when assigned a task.

I really appreciate the feedback, thank you!

Great work! Feels so polished and full of content already... Really neat mechanic with lots of room to expand... Especially loved the way story content was triggered... Nice art style and smooth UI... I'd play a longer game like this for sure. :)

Holy poop, this is incredibly well done, and can easily see how it can evolve into something massive. The controls and narrative are highly intuitive and easy to follow and understand. The dialogues are fun and the mechanics are very well thought out.

Can't wait to see how this project grows, nicely done, :D!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I had incredible amounts of fun making this game, so I definitely foresee myself working on it again soon. I'm really glad you liked the dialogue. I don't get into writing as often as I get into drawing and coding, so I always feel self-conscious about it.

Submitted(+1)

A very nice and polished game.

The art style is wonderful and the audio fits nicely. It took me a while to figure out things, but once I got it, the game play felt great. The minesweeper elements make the game interesting to play since you have limited turns and need to carefully think your moves.

One thing I really liked were those small hidden scenes that happen when certain characters were on specific spots on the map.

I'm interested to see if you add more content in the future.

Developer(+2)

Thank you for checking it out! Yes I am definitely planning to add lots more to this game. The guild portion will be greatly expanded upon with more room types and characters. After playing Nebelstern's submission yesterday, I really want to add a bar. I also want to add some sort of shop where you can spend the money you earn.

I'm planning to gradually expand the game length to be closer to 30-40 days. The characters will all have stuff to say over the course of your day-to-day life on the island, so you can get to know them a little better. More scenes for the characters, with more gradual descent into lewdness. I also want to expand the cast just a little bit more.

There's actually a feature already in the game that I somehow forgot to activate. The map is supposed to get messy as events take place, so when you come back to a location you'll sometimes see that something fun took place there recently.

Yep, so a couple hours of code and illustrations that are technically in the game already, are missing because I forgot to click a check box. Consider it a sneak preview of an upcoming feature after the voting period's over 😉

I am very open to any other ideas or suggestions. If there's stuff you or anyone else reading this would like to see added as the game is expanded, please let me know!

I thought this was so neat! I especially loved the drawn style of the art and the music! I would have loved more of a tutorial but I think this game has a lot of potential!

Developer

Sorry, tutorial just wasn't in the cards. In the last 3 hours before the deadline it was either that or adding a gameover screen and fixing an annoying day tracker bug that didn't count continued quests.

Submitted(+1)

oh no I completely get it! I just hope to see this expanded, it's a really cool concept

(+1)

Combining Minesweeper with RPG elements is a really neat idea.  I don't think I've ever seen it done before!  Admittedly, I got a little bit stuck trying to get the characters to do their tasks (I couldn't send them to a specific tile, only to the tile they were standing on).  But that might just be me being dumb.  xD  Again, really neat concept!

Submitted(+1)

I like the art and the minesweeper gameplay but oof NTR is not my thing at all.

Developer(+1)

Understandable, that's why I included a content warning at the top of the game page. Thanks for playing despite the kink mismatch, I appreciate it!

Submitted(+1)

Yeah I really did like the art and gameplay a lot though! Minesweeper is very much my jam, and the characters are super cute (particularly Fio).

It took me a while to figure out that fighters can clear out enemies. Dunno if I missed the tutorial on it or something. I think I realized it when I saw that some of the numbers on the grid didn't match my flags anymore.

Developer(+1)

Yea the combat and scouting rules are not really stated in the current version of the game, I just have it listed as a hint on the game page. A quick tutorial screen was the last thing on my list of emergency fixes for the last day, but adding a game over screen took priority.

Maybe it's a good thing in your case, since the NTR stuff doesn't start happening until the third quest. To anyone else looking to avoid seeing something they don't want to see, I recommend playing through just the first two levels. They give a  pretty good idea of what the game is like without getting into the more kinky content.

Fio's design is probably my favorite too. I'm very proud of how my cast turned out for this game. Some of the facial expression need some rework, but I'm super glad that I went with the style that I chose. In the "post your work" thread I attached a picture showing the early evolution of Espa's design, or at least a character that would get replaced by her. Fio's design on the other hand barely changed at all, I think my vision for her character was a lot more on-point from the start.
