I started early
I didn't start early, quite the opposite.
I joined 2 weeks late, don't know if that affects the judging in any way, but thought I should mention it at least.

my computer had a TIME running this, and I guess I figured out the reason halfway through when it started becoming a life sim. Is that just how all unreal engine games are, even ones that don't utilize 3d? brutal

Even the less finished backgrounds look great, to be honest. Your world sketches are super solid.

I couldn't get much into it once the game properly began, but what I did see was cool :]

Thank you! ^^

Yes it uses much more resources than it needs to at the moment and I definitely need to optimize that.
I just didn't have any time for that since time limitations.
But my goal is to smooth out those bumps and shrink the project size along the way.
Unreal thinks this project needs to be ~2-300MB for some reason x'D

Love the direction the artwork and music seem to be going in. Definitely a promising start as others have said.

Thank you very much! ^^

I see a lot of promising mechanics!

The mood is chill and the main character very cute, I really wanted to know more about her and her curse X) I also have the feeling that was a lot of work and ambition for the little time you had for the whole project.

Obviously I'd like to play more about it, mostly cause I'm not overwhelmed by entire paragraphs so the story is easy to follow and seems fast paced, which I enjoy for a visual novel. I'd like to dive more into the gameplay of the sexual intercourses, understand their role in the whole game and how it advances the story. Same for all the characteristics.

I'm glad you manage to finish a first version and publish it, I hope you'll find some time to show more of your big idea for this whole game X)

Thanks for the feedback! ^^

Yes, it was quite a lot of work (and still is as development continues)
But as of today, I feel that the framework on several components are really solid.

I'm hard at work to better implement the different gameplay beats and try to better incorporate it into the intro as the current version is just a wall of text that is kind of long x'D The longer the intro, the harder it is to follow.

But I want to keep the story kind of fast paced as I know myself how hard it is for me to keep focus it there is too much text to go through.

I think I got into an accidental loop by going to town. For some reason going back home while in town turned it back to night, then sleeping put me back in town, leading to a loop of sleeping and being teleported back to town. Apart from that it's very well made and very wholesome.

Thank you! ^^
Hmm, I must've messed up a connection somewhere, will definitely get patched in the future x'D
The Day / Night system is still in very early development so it doesn't surprise me that bugs like these shows up ^^'
This is one of the features I plan on overhauling atm

Definitely a promising start. The character designs are great, Alora is very sympathetic, and I like the sketchy style of the game. Your game is set up to be a cool hybrid RPG/Visual Novel and it would be interesting to see how it continues.

Thank you very much ^^

A very promising start! I liked the writing, and the character designs are cute. Maybe a weird thing to focus on but I was very impressed by the background art for the visit to the ancient library.

I was somewhat surprised when I finally reached the “gameplay” part of the game, since I didn’t look at the screenshots before playing. The intro was long enough that I assumed the whole game would use a typical visual novel presentation. Maybe those elements could be worked into the introduction somehow.

Thank you very much! ^^

Your feedback is very appreciated.
I have a list of things I want to overhaul and the intro is definitely on that list.
Since I want to implement combat in the future, that would only make the intro even longer in its current form.
I want to therefore remake the entire intro and split it into chunks that makes sense, cause right now it is just a lot of text with little to no difference in outcome. I already have code ready so that the starting trust can vary depending on which choices the player makes but that's not live in this version.

Anyways, I can go on forever it feels like about this project x'D

Heya, congrats on your submission ^^

I'm going address the elephant in the room first. I played and I was thinking that there's a lot remaining to be done. Then I saw that you only had 2 weeks to work on this, and it's quite impressive !

Despite my apparent criticism, I can smell potential in the air. I'll be sure to keep an eye on it ^^

Developer(+1)

Thank you! ^^

Oh yeah, a lot remains to be done.
During the 2 weeks I had I spent the vast majority to set up a solid framework so that further development would be easier in the long run.
That's why the art is very crude at this stage x'D

Very impressive for a 2 week project, it feels like you've got a lot of the core systems working, even if they don't have much content as of yet. Alora is cute and it will be fun to hang out with her as the game expands. Not sure if the black and white art will remain, but I think it's got its own distinct look to it, so I wouldn't mind it if the finished project used something similar.

Audio design is already on-point. The soothing piano theme works wonders to bring the world into motion and I like the jingling speech sound.

Unreal engine is really greedy with the GPU by default and my fans were audibly spinning while playing, so you may need to look into ways to optimize system resource use.

Your dialogue has a good flow to it, I like that there's lots of options, though perhaps they should have a broader variety of outcomes later in development. The white font with black outlines is playful but perfectly readable. Keys to advance the text and ways to skip through text and animations quickly will be essential in the future for this type of game. The game doesn't always show who is speaking, so it can get a bit confusing at times. A picture and description of the protagonist during character creation would also be a welcome addition for familiarizing new players.

Taking on a challenge of this scale at half the Jam's intended length takes a lot of determination. It's great to see that you didn't compromise your idea in spite of the odds! You've got a solid foundation, and a concept with a lot to offer, so I wish you the absolute best of luck in further development!

Thank you very much for the feedback! ^^

Some of the suggestions are already on my todo list, other things are on my overhaul list.
I plan for a lot more variety over all but that's in the long run.

I'm grateful that you like the music! <3

Skipping text isn't actually too hard to do so I should implement that.

Optimization is something I definitely need to do x'D
