Simple and straightforward game, the music adds a calming theme to it.
The problem I have with it is that currently there is lack of feedback when you feed the bird, so maybe adding some sound or visual feedback will help with this aspect? But overall it is a nice and simplistic game.
What a lovely bird, we shall call him Edward.
Edward was a good bird, i tried fattening him up but he just didn't have it, guess he had a good metabolism!
Very simple straight to the point good relaxing game.
nice and simplistic but had fun and the music was relaxing
Nice simple little concept here my only thing i would say is create a way to quit without having to Alt + F4 or taskmanager it. Very nice little casual game though.
To my dissapointment, no matter how much I fed this little guy, he didn't explode.
In all seriousness, was an oddly fun game. I agree with Ted and Amy, it would be very amusing if he got wider the more you fed him. Maybe add some other birds that appear after you reach a certain score threshhold that give more points when you start feeding them?
This is pretty cool! It's simple and the music is nice.
Nice game! The music is so relaxing!
thank you! :D
I enjoyed playing this a lot, the music was great and It relaxing to just sit and click the bird, the bird is also super cute
thank you!
Loved the music
Game felt like a good start to a classic clicker game, though there wasnt a way to exit the game unless i tabbed out
I like this concept. It's pretty relaxing!
I rate the music too, I can't remember what this song's called (I think I've heard it in a bunch of tutorials?) but it was a good choice.
In terms of future additions, maybe you could have another bird generate every 10 clicks along with a minute long timer? The goal of getting as many birds as possible in a minute would definitely add a layer of tension to the game.
But it's a good start! I look forward to seeing what you may add to this later on.
thanks! the song is "carefree" by kevin macleod. will keep your improvements in mind for next time!
I agree with Ted! Make the bird WIDER by feeding it more! Here is some pseudocode to help you achieve that:
I haven't tested this code but I'm pretty sure it would work.
Maybe you could do something progressive, like make the background change colour every 10 food you feed the bird, to do that you need to make a skybox material and access the material's colour through the code, and then on your bird feed code, you need to check if the bird fed amount is a multiple of say, 10 for example. and if it is, you simply need to tween the colour value from the current to the next, you can use an array of color32 for this.
OH! You can also do line 21 much shorter if you change the image variable on line 6 to a RectTransform, so instead you're grabbing the rectTransform directly from the image GameObject instead of grabbing the image and then getting the rectTransform from that.
thank you amy, your help is greatly appreciated :) will keep this in mind if I ever make a game like this again
So congratulations on being first to submit - the record was 12 hours so not quite as fast but not bad none the less. You need to have credits for all assets for which you don't possess the IP rights or a license allowing you to use them without credit. I like the music, its .... happy in a sort of cotton candy way. Though the 'gameplay' is very.... limited, interestingly there probably are things that you could do with this to flesh it out more (only able to feed the bird when food is over it - food flys past) certain 'not food' things make you loose score. Bird gets fatter with more points. Win by exploding bird? Mr creosote bird? This did however make me laugh and technically does what was requested. Consider making things like this run in windowed mode so that its easy to exit.
