A lovely and very calming game.

I don't know Jerry that much, but I love him :)

The music is wonderful and super relaxing (this type of music is also one of my many weaknesses)

I like that when you let the logs push him to the side he falls down again and he speed of the logs resets.

The only thing to add would be a counter, but hat might break the serenity of the scene, so maybe an eventual game over screen that tells you how many logs you jumped over.

The gameplay is simple but effective for putting across a relaxing tone, but for gameplay maybe adding some type of scoring system and a difficulty ramp . The design overall of the Jerry and background is great .

The music and having a frog fall from the sky really sets the tone for this one i feel. Really reminded me of counting sheep in terms of how relaxing it really was.

From a gameplay side of things however with no goal and literally no forward movement or progression does leave a lot to be desired regarding Jerries future. I want to know where the boi is going and if he will succeed.

Firstly a big fan of a named protagonist, really let me get in touch with Jerry on an emotional level and feel like every log jump really did matter.

In terms of the game play i really enjoyed the sound effects and the backing music and the controls seemed really good.

It would have been nice to see some sort of score system and some variation in the logs spawning or maybe even have Jerry running all the time forward rather than stationary.

Feels kind of strange being pushed out the map and just being put back at the start like nothing happened so maybe a game over screen would have been good too.

All in all the game looks and feels really nice and i really enjoyed helping Jerry on this emotional journey!

Simple but enjoyable. Having the frog not move and the objects move to you was a nice little idea. I think most people would agree that the sound effects and music were on point.  As well as this the art style blended together really well. One thing I would add though is if the player hits one of the balls it resets the scene and additionally maybe a score in the corner.

Very chill game and I like the art style just wish it got a bit more difficult as you went along and maybe a score after each obstacle would be pretty cool.

Submitted

Adorable game through and through,  the only thing I wish for is more, and higher difficulty.

Submitted

The character and the background are both super cute, the only suggestion I have is to maybe raise the stakes of avoiding obstacles a bit more

I really liked the long intro before the obstacles start appearing, gives you plenty of time to get the gist of the game. It was super relaxing and Jerry is very cute.

You could increase the frequency of obstacles over time or include some different ones to increase the difficulty. A game over screen could be shown when you are pushed off the edge of the screen.

Cool game.

Super chill, maybe some sort of timer/counter could track the progression. You could maybe make more obstacles appear over time alongside the speed increase for a bit more of a challenge.

I loved the sprit used an the asthetic you went for.

My only suggestion is that  you could possibly add a score counter and a "death" script to the obsticals so instead of just pushing the player the player is killed and the level resets. The counter would give the game more replayability and allow the game to have a goal.

Appart from that i really enjoyed playing the game it was a nice relaxing time.

Your game is well made and you've done a good job with your art! Maybe add music if possible!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, im not sure if you meant sound effects as i already have music implemented :)

This is one of the first times a game in this style has actually been relaxing instead of extremely frustrating, great work!

The basic mechanics work very well, and the art is a cute mix of pixel and soft faded background.

Only improvements I can think of would be a counter of your progress somewhere and maybe some different looking obstacles?

Submitted

ohhh this game is so cute, I love the pixel art and the music is very relaxing :) I love how you made the frog respawn if it gets pushed back too far by the obstacles :)

A simple relaxing game with a nice art style, unsure if landing on barrels being safe is intentional however it could make things more interesting as a threat!

I loved how relaxing this game felt when I first started it, paired with the great music and calming frog noises.

There is something really great about the simplicity of the game in general to make it this enjoyable.

Maybe you could give the player points when they successfully jump over a log or having a way to visually tell how fast the logs are moving?

Love the aesthetics so far, most of what I was going to say has been said more succinctly by others but there is one issue I 've noticed.

As far as I can tell you're linearly increasing the speed of the logs every time you jump over one, however because you have not put a cap on this (or any cap you do have is too high) once you reach far enough in the game the logs move so quickly that there isn't ever a frame rendered that causes a collision, so they just phase through our good friend Jerry, letting you just sit on the ground infinitely as the logs get faster and faster forever. The solution to this would be capping the speed at a point the collisions still register, and then as Gabe suggested decreasing the spawn time of the logs instead to add difficulty.

Also I agree with Amy, changing the profile picture to your sprite would be a nice touch, I would die for that frog.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, I was unaware of this issue with the logs being able to phase through Jerry, Thanks for letting me know, I'll be able to refer to this issue for future games I create :)

The game is pretty cool.

I like the music and artwork, very chilled out. Id like to know how many logs I jump over though.

Nice job

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, I think adding a score system would be a great idea, I will definitely add this in future games I create

The art & the in-game music are incredibly immersive! I also appreciate that losing doesn't stop the BGM, it keeps the atmosphere consistent.

Maybe the time between log generation could be shortened as the game progresses? It'd make the game a bit more challenging.

I agree with Amy in that having the stars sparkle would be a great addition, too.

Though this is a great start - I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes in the future.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I definitely wanted to experiment with shortening the log generation distance however I  was worried about being unable to code it due to me being new to coding, however I'm 100% going to attempt this as I progress further in the year.

I absolutely love the atmosphere of this game, great job!

I'm impressed with how the logs speed up over time and then once you're pushed off the screen and have to respawn, they start back up at their beginning speed again.

Perhaps you could've added in soundFX/player feedback whenever the player jumps and/or gets hit by a log?

And you should totally update the cover image to the cute frog sprite in the game!

Perhaps you can make sparkling stars in the background or simulate movement by using particle systems!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, I agree that I could of added Sound when the player gets hit, it would of been a nice touch, Im going to try and do this for the next game we make. :)
