Funny, we have a similar idea with the boomerang haha

this the game looks funny but it's not french keyboard friendly so i can't complete the first level haha

Submitted

hahah fun game. It's like geometry dash dual mode boomerang horizontal version.

I think the first level should be shorter, I should be more of an introduction.

Overall, good job!

I'd love to know what do you think of my game

Really fun two player game! Or if you're a masochist like me it's an super tough platformer that'll have you shifting your eyes from left to right constantly preparing for the next jump! Honestly had a lot of fun playing it that way plus I've never seen a boomerang with legs before which had me laughing. Impressive scene transitions as well. Great jam submission, cheers.

Really cool game, a little bit hard to play alone :-(

I would really appreciate if you will rank my game too https://itch.io/jam/vimjam/rate/767226

Today I talked with a buddy about getting new creative input from JamIdeas of other people...and now this. Great idea, I really like it.

Critic: Like other people already told you, some kind of progressbar would have been nice. Besides the theme, I personally think a time trial or an endless runner would fit your idea. Make it landscape mode an go on ;)

At first i felt like a uncoordinated person, but as soon as i got the gist of the game, i had a real fun experience! Worked hard with my brain to keep getting the 3 gems! this is so fun, as it can also be played by 2 players, really well done, art, animation, music, good job!

I had a blast playing this game.  The art was adorable and the jumping felt good.  I do agree with some that it felt like my brain could have used a little more time to prepare but I actually enjoyed the challenge a lot.  I think it could help if you gave us a couple pixels of air walking before we had to jump (like Wiley Coyote) so the stress of the platforms coming so quick would feel the same but it would feel more lenient.  Great work, I had so much fun I'm going to show my friend later today (and cheat by having him help me beat level 3 lol).

Really glad to hear how much you enjoyed the game! A progress bar would definitely be my first go to if I decide to do some more work on the game! It was probably quite needed :) but it really is something that messes with your head for a little while, I enjoyed testing it myself for that reason alone! really appreciate the feedback, thanks!

Cool idea, super difficult to play alone. Like a couple other people've said, i think it needs some kind of a progress bar so you know how close you're to the finish. No other complaints! I wish i had friends to play it with ;-; :D Nice game, good work!

Developer

Of course, seriously appreciate the feeback :) thank you so much for taking the time out to play it and I'm super glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Super cool idea, and you executed it well! I think that the game itself is kind of disorienting, but I guess that's just an inherent part of the idea. The only suggestion I have is putting a level progress bar, since I played a level thinking it was endless and accidentally failed it on purpose, LMAO. If you have the time, I'd appreciate it if you can also play my game!

A really neat idea for sure ! It's really really hard tho. The boomerangs are super cute and the platforming is pretty well done.  The levels are pretty long without a progress bar so it's a bit stressful to play. All and all a very good jam submission.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the feedback! I think a progress bar would be what tips this game over to be that much better... less stress figuring out whether or not you're at the end of a level!

Submitted(+1)

This game is so good! ☺

The only thing I would add to the game is a counter to the end of the level (I played the first one and thought is was endless...).

Submitted(+1)

Really fun game. It looks perfect for 2 players.

Thank you so much for the feedback! :)

The idea is cool. At first I didn't get it because I chose the easiest difficulty where the level is practically identical for both characters. Otherwise pretty cool. But I thought the boomerangs would be throwable and they would somehow go "there and back". Gotta ask - why are they boomerangs? :P

Developer

I’m not quite sure there is a definitive reason for them being boomerangs, other than I thought I could make them look cool on top of it being somewhat fitting the theme! There isn’t a significant reason though, I just liked the cartoon theme I seemed to be taking myself to

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

nice concept and good implementation :) , although I don't think there will be much of challenge if two players were to play the game.. also I don't see the theme applies "there and back"..

Developer(+1)

That's okay!! I tried to explain it in the description as best I could when uploading the game but essentially both characters are playing on the same level, but from opposite sides! I had problems with collisions, so they're still on their own separate versions of the levels (but they are identical) otherwise I would've had them pass each other as they go through the levels! It definitely was designed for one person to play, so that it was challenging, but the option is obviously there for two people if they would find it fun :) really glad you enjoyed!

Submitted(+1)

Cool game but I dont get the there and back aspect

O ok I get it now thanks! I would appreciate it if you could play my submission as well. Thanks!

I believe I already did actually! really enjoyed it :)

Very nice game! I did find it was a bit disorienting with the mirrors at first but after a while I got used to it. Great idea and unique experience with very fitting music and a good range of difficulties though the last one is very difficult haha. Great job, enjoy the jam!

Developer

Thank you so much! I really enjoyed making it tbh, but until it was public, I hadn't had much of an idea on actually how difficult I unintentionally made it! I like the thought of it being a game that's supposed to be hard, and I definitely wanted that to be the case with the hard levels, but it seems that most (apart from easy) are rather difficult! haha

Submitted

Yeah took some time to attempt medium and I could not do hard haha. Good job on making a fun experience!

Submitted(+1)

Super clever! I was expecting just another boomerang but you knocked it out of the park. Quite difficult but its clearly meant to be. Very very good job!

It would mean a lot if you could check out my Jam submission if you get the chance. Thanks!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! :) I believe I had checked out your game at some point yesterday :)

Great game! This was really hard and punishing, but it still felt fun! You should continue working on this; it could be a great mobile game. Maybe make the levels a bit harder, but shorter? dying set me back quite a bit. The music was great, and fit perfectly with the game, and the sound effects worked great.

Developer

Thank you so much, someone actually suggested a progress bar to me which would've been a neat idea I should look into if I do more work on this game/make one with a similar running concept!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, especially liking the sounds, graphics and jump input. Though the levels (which you have plenty of!) are quite long and punishing if you die. I would appreciate if you could check my submission and keave some feedback :) Thanks !
