Hey great game here. I really liked the variety of the relics doing giving you different debuffs for the rest of the level, it definitely makes you plan out your routes so you don't die lol. I noticed that only some of the time the jump sound would play and most of the time it would not, not sure what was causing that. I found the game challenging yet not too hard to where I couldn't complete the game. Well done!

I had some initial problems with the installer not working, so happy to finally get to see this great game! I LOVE the clever twist of having pick-ups hurt you, that's a great mechanic. I'm also super happy that the spikes and boulders didn't insta-kill you like in most other platformers. The text was very helpful and a great touch!
Overall, one of my top 5 games of the jam! =)
Fun game! I really liked the music and thought the foreground effects were slick. The player sprite was adorable! omg I busted out laughing when poison artifact killed me and the death gasp shot out. it was... AWESOME!
Some of the later levels were really short, I just grabbed the artifact and ran off?
I would definitely prefer to play it in the browser - which is super easy with Unity. Oh, and the gold total was just whatever that levels score was? That was a bit confusing. Fun title though, great job.
Thank you very much!
In the later levels you have a choice if you want to get all the artifacts or finish the level early. We want to add something that will tell you how many artifacts you have in the level.
We too wanted it to be in the browser but unity gave us problems with this and we were almost at the time limit to we didn't have a choice...
☺
Although I'm not into platformers, had lots of fun with this one. Nice use of the limitation and the relic effects was a nice way to spice up the journey back.
Great use of the theme and limitation, and the level design is very well stuctured to mix up the return journey. The cute pixel art style, and the light hearted sound design make for a great atmosphere that kept me coming back, even when dying numerous times in the same spot. I encountered a couple of small issues - being at the top of the ladder sometimes caused the sprite to flicker, and if you crash into the boulders, they're basically weightless, so you can push them out of the way, but these are minor gripes in a very well executed project.
What a fun little game, I loved the design and the different pace of each level. Very clever use of the theme and collectibles restraint. The artifacts with their different effects was such a clever idea. Oh and as a LOTR fan I do love the artifact names :D. Great job on this one!
Man that flying relic screech was terrifying haha. Impressive amount of levels you were able to put out for the jam! Overall good design so the levels didn't feel repetitive. It would be nice to have some indicator to know how many relics are in a given stage. Or if you'd prefer to keep that up to player exploration then to possibility to know when you are holding every relic.
Great jam submission, cheers!
Nice game! Really like playing puzzle platformer games. There were items that will cursed the player different ways, that was really cool and It was fun to play.
As for feedback, when player died he shouldn't move and in one level I died and during the death animation I kept going to door and won level. There was 1 item curse that followed player, that's pretty cool, but when it was not in the Attack state it moves adding player movement as it was a child of player and felt a bit weird.
Overall I think you guys did amazing. Congrats on your entry!
Pretty fun indiana jones-esque take on the theme, with nice risk/difficult progression after each treasure obtained, but some more time to polish it could really elevate what's there.
-Favorite part was the different kinds of treasures that would change the difficulty of your trip back, and how there were benefits to gaining them in a different order.
-Strengthening feedback/anticipation, like where the boulders were spawning would have helped a lot. And more fine tuned values given to the treasures/scoring formula to make that feel like a more valuable goal would have been good. I think tightening all that up and having a no death final score runthrough could be neat given its current length.
The idea with treasures having different curses is cool and I played longer than I expected, even though I don't like plattformers :D
Just one point: In my opinion some outlines would have braught your Artstyle a great step apart, but thats more of an opinion than an objective tip :D
I just Played it :)
it's fun and kept me going to see the curses haha :)
good job keep at it :)
I like the concept where running to the totem is only half the challenge where coming back is when it starts to get a bit difficult. Having to choose which totem you pick first is a pretty cool concept considering they could kill you. I wish there was some way of knowing which totems were in each level. The boulder physics were also a bit derpy at times too haha. Really enjoyed the music and it was a pretty polished game!
This was good, very polished, I even finished it after like 8 levels or so, some were very simple, with statues next to the door :D
I liked the different statues and the 3th level was the hardest with to many stairs to climb and that bird that attacks you.
overall a good game :D thanks, and keep up that karma or I will beat you to it :P hehe
edit: One thing I didn't like was installing it on a drive, I prefer just some zip where I can run it and collect all jam games, but it works, I just need to remember to uninstall it :D
Lots of fun and excellent use of the theme! I got a few bugs which you'll be able to see in my stream but overall it was a great game. I think a really fun additional would be having 3 treasures in every room and tying your score to how many you collect! So like a star point system or something. Anyway, thanks for posting this and good luck with the jam!
I loved the game, as many have said, it utilizes of what is best to collect as each thing has different effects.
I love the level design.
Good job!
This game captures the theme perfectly.I tought "ohh you just grab treasures and go back" but the catch is that treasures have diffrent properties.Loved the idea :D My only complaint is that sometimes camera jitters.Other than that amazing work :D
The whole way of going at the "there and back" part of this jam for most interpenetrated as getting something, then having to trek back the level to exit. This game is no different, however the implementation of treasure that impedes the player is a nice addition to this little formula. Personally while the list of three did work, more would be much more interesting. The game also offering to have you stack more for more profits is a nice touch. However there is no final tally to run for so it can just be ignored.
The art is pretty good, however the main gripe I have with it is that pixel art is stretched and compressed all over the place. While a mostly consistent pixel does exist more in the levels the buttons and other menu elements do not have the same fate. The music is pretty good, along with the sfx but they really are not original. Levels however were very well laid out and my only gripe is that bolder generators are not better signposted.
Pretty fun, I managed to play through the entire thing without dying once.
Just played and really enjoyed the concept. Never before have I been killed by my own artifacts; the radioactive one was my favourite. Good, retro pixel-art style and nice collision detection. Good work.
