Don't be too hard on yourself, being a lone programmer is hard. But somethimes just splitting up the work in smaller parts can really help!
It was a fun little game with good animations and art. And the music was on spot.
Missing some visual feedback on hitting the boss.
Good job!
Indeed it is, I'm definitely gonna have to get a better system in place to deal with the stress that can come with it. I'll try splitting it up a bit more for my next project as I did still have some rather big chunks of work that I had set up for myself. I'm glad you liked what you saw
I really enjoyed the animation and the simplicity of the mechanic. My recommendation power up potions.
Short but fun with a lot of polish. The art and animation was charming. Nice victory song too.
In your description you wrote, "I can't be a lone programmer apparently."
I think you're being way too hard on yourself. The boss may have only had the one state, but I still had fun dashing around and getting hits in. It was even challenging enough that I died and got to hear one of two great original songs for this jam game! That's a lot of effort. Not to mention really charming art and animation. The smear frames on the attack sprites are really well done and help sell the impact. I think the hitbox could have been a little larger, but the potions helped make it more forgiving when I'd take impact after sneaking in some swipes. Loved the tileset, thought the sfx were great.
I don't think you need any additional feedback on the game itself. If anything, you probably have a dozen ideas you would have liked to implement, and I'm sure they're great, because everything you did manage to fit in was awesome. So I don't have any criticism, but hopefully encouragement. This was a fun jam game. You clearly have a lot of love for this craft and are really creative. I hope you keep making games! One jam game doesn't determine whether you can make it as a lone programmer.
Great work here. Can't wait to see what's next.
That's a lot of kind words, oh my. Was not expecting that. Thank you. Though, a quick explanation. I didn't mean it to sound as harsh as I did as it's more about multiple projects and not just the one. Being a lone programmer is a lot and I just might not be ready yet, but who knows. I do have a few more things I'm gonna try before I truly think about throwing in the solo dev towel for the foreseeable future. If I can just minimize stress, I'll be good
Nice Art work and animation. The boss pattern is a bit simple, but that was cute. Well done
Congratulations on your work . The character animation is beautiful and the gameplay is simple but very fun. Love the song in the end it put a smile on my face haha :)
its a fun game and fun idea and i like the art although the attack shouldnt be melee it messes up the game cause you cant get close enough to the enemy to melee him
Art design, player animation and sounds are on point, really neat! Even though the boss has no special attacks, it would have been nice to have him be animated somewhat (at least a walking cycle)
It almost feels like you spent too much time perfecting the player animation (which is basically flawless!) that you didnt get around doing much else. That comes down to basically never need to jump (unless you want to hear the cute sound and see him hop) because there is just no mechanical need for it.
Also, with only the "boss" as an enemy, it doesnt truly feel like a boss - you need the build-up of smaller enemies as to warrent calling him a boss imho.
Admittedly I did mostly focus on the player and the sounds. I was working on a walk animation for the boss, but by that point I needed a minute and just let it fall to the wayside. After the Jam is all done and passed, I'm gonna go back and finish off his walking so there's at least that
Hey ! Another game with a bunny 😎👉👉
Was a cute little game, simple and easy to understand.
Was fun.
GG!!!!!!!!!
Loved that bunny's face ! and neat winning song XD
a bit simple & easy but still good job for submitting :)
Good job. I liked playing this, and I wont complain about the boss being easy. Finally a game I can finish :)
Loved the graphics and the sound/music. Excellent work.
What an excellent player animation! I really liked the sprites. And the approach to music is frankly refreshing. I liked it.
I missed some complexity in the boss itself and a little feedback regarding the combat, since it was not clear when I was going to get too close to it and get hurt.
Great game! I just wish there were more levels wherein the boss would get harder to fight with. The visuals were also magnificent and I had a really fun time overall. Great job!
Nice game! Shame you couldn’t make a more complex boss, but even still what you have here is pretty interesting since you have to stay close enough to attack but not too close since you’ll get hurt (also adds to the theme). Those ending lyrics though… I couldn’t really understand what they were saying, but they kinda creeped me out (most likely a me issue but still might be worth editing for accessibility - simple solution is a wordier end screen).
Could also just be a me issue. I can't really sing all that well so my pronunciation isn't all that great. I think a simpler solution for me is to speed it up a tad and for me either boost the vocals so they can be heard a bit better or redo them. I don't wanna make people read if they don't have to. Still, glad you liked what you saw even though the end had you a little put off
Good game! amazing sounds!
Nice game! Like the idea of having less health giving more damage for the edge theme. Also enjoyed the bunny themed boss fight. The victory song was pretty fun too lol. Good job!
I enjoyed playing, it wasn't so difficult that it was impossible but it still took a little effort. Graphics and animations felt really smooth and polished. Loved the song that played after beating the game!
Songs are fire 🔥
cute graphics and feel for the game! Bunny too cute when it wins
Character movement and mechanics were smooth, I really liked it.
Nice that you submit :).
