Nice and simple game
Good Work!

Developer

thanks a lot✌🏻

I like that it's not unnecessarily complex! Simple and straight to the point! I'd definitely come back for more levels.

Developer

Thanks

Simple yet fun puzzle! Maybe a player should choose his color by himself? Maybe even collect new colors? Just something so it dost feel like you walk only path

Developer(+1)

Thats sounds good, thanks for your suggestion

Submitted(+1)

Awsome, simple puzzler!! Short, easy to understand (except maybe that the colors youn get are in order, independent of which tile you die at). The last one was actually a bit challenging, and the other ones were great too!

But unfortunately I gotta say that your coveré-art is better than the ingame game graphics. (that's basically all I could think of about what I'd change in the game, so this is very well done!)

PS: if you played my game too, that'd be super duper apreciated! https://theothetorch.itch.io/blue-insides

Developer(+1)

Hi, thanks for your suggestions,

the idea of making it unindependent at which black tile you die is a one that i like, i probably make that for some tiles.

Submitted(+1)

It's a good mechanic, just took a minute tu understand, though that doesn't really matter, cuz you can play the first levels easyly withot even understanding that, and it comes naturally with gameplay, so yeah, I like the mechanic too!

Developer(+1)

Nice, that was how i wanted it: easy and fun! Thank you ;)

Submitted(+1)

The game was simple and straightforward, and even if it was too short, I still manage to enjoy it! Well done!

Developer

hey, thanks a lot ;)

Wow, what a great game, its short but that’s fine, this is the first game that i give it 5 stars, it just deserve it, the game is relaxing & yet very fun to play :D.

i will not ask you to play my game but feel free to do whatever you want

Developer(+1)

thanks a lot

Yeah no problem, i will also gibe you some feedback😁😅

oh ty :D

Very relaxed and creative game. I only had an issue sometimes to distinguish pink and purple.

I would have loved to play more levels because it was really fun to play. That being said, i think this game is really great. Good job.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot, yeah i would have made more levels too, but i had not enought time for that ;)

Submitted(+1)

This game was great! I loved the aesthetic of it. The topic is really creative and simple, not difficult to understand. The level design is great and the levels were fun! I really liked the music, it was really chill. This game definitely gives back the nostalgic flash games aesthetic, which is definitely a plus for me! The mechanics are really unique and fun to play with, definitely one of the most creative puzzle games I've tried till now!

Some suggestion I would recommend adding are:

- Adding animations and sound effects whenever you change spawn locations/winning the level.

- Making the transition faster and probably add text like "Level Complete" or "You Win!" to give the player the feeling they won.

Other than that, this game was really enjoyable, I liked it a lot.

Keep it up!

Developer(+1)

Super good feedback, thanks a lot, i am going to pay attention to those suggestions ;)

Submitted(+1)

I only wish the scene transition would take a bit less time and that the "You Win" screen did not turn black after like 3 seconds.

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing.

When you download the game, after the end the game closed automaticaly, which i like for a game a lot instead of pressing a button.

For the transitions i have to say, i wanted to make a chill game with some chill transitions, but probably you are right and they are a litlle bit long ;)

It's really nice, but it really feels like it was just getting started when it ended. The visuals were handled well, but still just kinda squares with bloom. The music and sfx are nice, but the theme implementation could've been a little bit stronger, you could just replace the black square with a color changer, and it would be nearly the exact same. Even though there's all this criticism, that's not to say it was bad, and i enjoyed the few levels that there are. Great Game!

Developer(+1)

thank you, i had no more time to make more levels, because of school, but if i am doing a next update, that will be the first things i am going to improve.

Nice to hear that you had fun ;)

I understand, that you think the visuals where easy and yes they werent as hard as comolicated pixel art or handdrawn style, but i think thats no the thing it is about, i guess they have to be good and fit in the game

Have a nice day😃

An exceptionally well produced/polished game, with lovely visuals! It felt a little slow (which isn't necessarily a criticism when it comes to puzzle games) - mainly on the early levels, though.

Developer

ok, i guess thats because the long ways in early levels and because the early ones are verry easy...

Thanks for the suggestion

Interesting concept. The game design was well done so I just flowed through the stages. Very well done.

Nice visuals, good audio. Good job!!

Developer

Thnaks a lot for taking your time ;)

Nice little game, i just wish there was more levels, it ended when it started to get very intresting ! Good job anyway, very pleasing experience !

Developer

thanks a lot

Cool game! I thought the way you implemented the theme was really unique! The puzzles were great and the visuals complimented everything nicely. Great job!

Developer

thanks a lot for playing mate

I really liked the game, easy to understand goal and mechanics that should allow you to make quite interesting puzzles. The levels (so far) also required some planning and where small enough that you could walk through the needed steps in your head without problems.

The only 2 problems I had are that it gets a bit annoying to constantly need to press a button to walk 1 tile, some way that I could leave it pressed and keep moving would be appreciated. The other problem was that it was too short (which, for a game jam is actually a good thing I guess). It ended exactly when I was getting into it :(

Developer

Hey, you can hold the button to walk further and yes you are right, its a bit short, but probably i will build up on it. Thanks for playing ;)

Submitted(+1)

oh, that does work. Weird, I could've sworn I tried that. Nvm that part of my feedbackthen :)

Developer

No problem, probably there was just an error than... ;)

I think this might be my favourite game in the jam. Such a simple idea, but soo well executed. Really well done! I love the visuals with the slight glow to the colours on top of a black void, the puzzles are fairly easy to understand but I can see them getting very challenging. The only thing I would say is if it has some more satisfying sound effects. I can see this making a really great mobile game.   Also a nice touch was seeing the colour palette in the top right, gave you the opportunity to think through your steps. I like it a lot. maybe you could add some challenges in the future? For example complete the level in 15 steps etc.

Developer(+1)

Hey, first of all, thanks for playing and all your suggestions.

I mentioned before, that i will probably make an update after the jam ended, i appreciate your ideas and i think they would fit well into the game, especially with some challenges ;)

Submitted(+1)

Awesome, best of luck :) I'm excited to see your progress.

Submitted(+1)

Absolytely loved it, its like helltaker, but without anime waifus :D
not so many puzzle games here so there is a bonus points for that.
The only point i have with this game is that black box could aswell be a powerup and failure is only "cosmetic" as its required.
Pretty esthetics, and sound and music fits well,
Feel free to roast my game aswell :D

Developer

Thanks a lot for taking your time ;)

Not bad at all, although the gameplay suffers a little because of a few design setbacks 1) for most of the levels there isn't enough there to for there to be any challenge to the puzzle and 2) the player can't predict what color they'll be. This is ok for 2 other reasons 1) the theme means if you keep dying and restarting to learn your color pattern that's ok, BUT it seems like your focus on the theme is intentionally dying by the black squares, not dying to learn your color pattern, and 2) tricky level design like you have in the last level could account for that because the player can reasonably guess the path and strategize. But this is still kind of an issue because ultimately it comes down to guesswork rather than thinking through it logically. I hope this makes sense, I wanted to give more thorough criticism for this game because I really like the concept, it's better than many on this jam.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for your really good suggestions. One thing in the beginning, i think you oversaw the colorpalette with an arrow on the top right, which tells you the colors in their order.

You are right, the levels are mostly verry easy, which is a thing i wanted to make better in the jam also. It was my first puzzle game and i didnt really know the concept and the best conditions to make such a game. That leaded me later struggling a bit with bringing up new level ideas, which are actually harder to get for the player. That also is why there are only five levels, which indeed wasnt a problem for me, because i wanted to make an short and enjoyable game, which does not take to long and does not bore the player to much with long story, complicated controlls or even hard to understand rules, with which it would probably have been easier to make harder levels.

Submitted(+1)

Ah, I see, sorry for missing that!

I really think you should continue this project, make quite a lot more levels and maybe bump of the visuals, and it could be a really good small steam release. I think if it's your first puzzle game, you've done a lot and are on the right track. Better than what I could've done lol!

Developer

Thanks a lot ;)
