This is one of the best games i played so far. I love how you get stronger when you get a new level and when you lose too. So the game always rewards you.
The controls are very smooth, it plays really well.
The art and animations are gorgeous. It is really impressiv how you did this within three days.
The only thing i noticed is, that the UI is very big and seems to be in the way. Yet, you have managed to make a very well made game. Amazing work!
Really well polished shooting mechanics with the inclusion of screen shake, particle systems etc... The colour scheme is also really pleasant to look at and the dynamic difficulty felt balanced. Overall its a very fun top down shooter experience! PS. Maybe add full screen next time so the UI doesn't seem as big, but amazing game overall :D
I'm not really a fan of top down shooters because I've played to many to count in many different jams besides this one, but this is actually one of the better ones I have played. The enemy variety is a plus and that alone makes it better than many of the top down shooters I have played, even though some of the bad guys are basically tank versions of the small ones. There is also a tremendous amount of polish here. The pixel art is fantastic and the animation is smooth, (definitely way better than my game) The combat is punchy and juicy too.
I think the game falls short on the creative side because there really isn't any new here, top down shooters with upgrades have been done before, and the stronger damage bonus you get after each death doesn't really feel innovative to make it unique.
But overall, I love the game.
Thanks! I definitely think I could've made the game more unique in its own way, and the damage bonus after each death wasn't very interesting either - I had more upgrades and features for that planned, but of course I overscoped there :P Still, I'm glad you liked it!

Fun game, awsome graphics.
I think that the enemies have too much hp. It's because you become stronger later in the game, but difficulty from big hp isn't the best choice.
I would also love a dash in this type of game.

As for the hp, there was a setting in the options menu to decrease the difficulty (and hp) of the enemies, although I agree that the enemies having high hp was just artificial difficulty there. And the dash mechanic sounds like a really good idea too - don't know why I didn't think of that too!

Very fun game to play. Maybe, if lives didn't reset after each wave it would've been much easier to see where game fits the theme. Good job ! :)
this the most interesting game so far I played from this Jam! at first I could figure out where is the "failure = progression" but at the end everything was clear. made me want to retry. great job!
Cool Premise. I wish that there was a menu before the level up menu because when it popped up I clicked to attack at the same moment and never knew what I bought. Also se more of the world upgrade seems like it gives you insignificant amount of zoom. But I really like the art Ideas and pretty much everything other than those two things.
