Solid game, very fun and addicting. I love the graphics.

Sometimes, the enemies would spawn right inside me, but that couldn't stop me from beating your game without dying! Good job!

Submitted(+1)

This was pretty good with nice art and sound effects and gameplay. It felt like the main difficulty was getting hit when the enemy spawned right under me which seemed unfair.

I'm a big fan of pixel art, magic, and upgrades... and this game perfectly scratched that itch! I really enjoyed exploring the different skills I could get when leveling up, and fighting the various creatures. One suggestion I'd have is, maybe make it so the enemies can't spawn on screen? About half of the damage I took was from enemies spawning on top of me, but that's okay as it still wasn't enough to kill me! Overall, beautiful art, fun gameplay, and a great submission!

This is probably the best game I've played in the jam so far - doesn't hurt that I'm a sucker for fantasy stuff!

Impressive amount of work for 72 hours - all the different sprites and backgrounds, the level up system, enemy AI, satisfying movement, music tracks... nice job!

My sole complaint is that playing on a laptop trackpad I could feel the carpal tunnel coming as I tried to rapid fire shoot the enemies, but with a proper mouse I'm sure it would be fine xD

I wasn't great at this, TBH, I got surrounded and killed a lot, but I still found it heaps of fun and you incorporated the theme well to make dying anything but a frustration! Loved this, excellent work!

Hi! I've put together a list of my top games from the jam and before I post them on the community section, I'm just checking that you are okay having your game's link on the list?

Developer

Yeah, that's fine, thanks!

Really unique and fun game, nice visuals, and well made, good job!

Submitted(+1)

Ok this was incredible fun! Well done

It was fun and cool to play with, I like the concept of your game! The UI was also everywhere, I recommend fixing that! I'd like to know what's the connection of the topic with your game? I can't find it somehow but if you weren't following the topic, I'd still say it's awesome!

Developer

Good to hear that you enjoyed the game! The UI is definitely something I'd like to fix, yeah. As for the topic, I was going for "the more you fail, the more you progress", both when you lose hearts or die, and get a damage boost. I'll admit it probably could've been implemented better, but it vaguely fits the topic, so I'm happy enough with it.  Thanks for the comment!

Hey! I have some feedback:

- I wish you would explain what each upgrade means ( the less common one ).

- I wish that after you entered the "Choose upgrade" Menu/UI, there would be a time before you actually select what upgrade you want, so you don't pick one accidentally ( happened to me until I discovered you don't need to spam left click )

-I wish there would be something indicating where enemies are going to spawn instead of them appearing randomly. Furthermore, I wish they'd spawn further away from the player. Those two combined made me takes some cheap damage.

Should have been playing on medium/hard smh

Thanks for the advice! It really helps for the future, so thanks.

  • I would've liked to make that a bit clearer, with some better descriptions or even tooltips, but they definitely were ambiguous in the current game, so sorry about that.
  • That would've been a nice idea, something like a second delay after opening, but I'm glad you figured out that you could hold down for autofiring in the end.
  • Spawning enemies differently would've been a nice change too. FYI, they only spawn around the edges - although that's never explained in game at all, so it does just seem kind of random. Spawning them in a different area might've helped there.

Still, I'm glad you got through to the end, and I hope you had fun too! Thanks for the comment.

This game is so cool, i love everything about it!! Good Job!!

(Sorry if the feedback wasn't the best. It's pretty late and i'm super tired :P)

I love this game's artstyle! The palette is on point and I love the simplicity of the character designs. I also love the feedback when you damage enemies and how they burst into parts when they die. The leveling up UI, tutorial, and menus are all super polished as well! If I could think of something to improve, it would be to make the projectiles actually look different whenever you get more elements, but as it was made in 72 hours and that would be a lot of work, I think it is fine as is

Developer

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked the artwork and it's good to know that all that time spent cleaning up the graphics wasn't put to waste :P As for the projectiles, there are a couple of small particle effects when you get a new element, although I agree it definitely could've been clearer what they actually did - there were already way too many particles on screen to tell apart anyways. Glad you liked it though!

By any chance is this inspired wizard of legend? It feels really legit! I love the art in the game and I really really respect the magical augments/skills as you level up. I want to do more of those myself. Great arena battler!  Maybe next time you can add starting skill bonuses instead of just damage. Good job :)

very solid, but monsters spawning on you, and coming out of the ui elements made it feel very unfair and frustrating. especially with how close in the camera is. this on top of losing all progress on death makes me not continue playing, even though the gameplay is good enough that i want to play more

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I agree that I probably could've scaled the UI down and show where the monsters spawned more clearly to make it more enjoyable- it's not very fair or fun right now. As for dying, you do get a small increase to damage, so it's not everything - although I definitely think it's such an irrelevant bonus to not be really worth anything anyways, and I would've liked to rework it. Still, thanks for the comment!

Very good game. Lots of fun to play.
Would have been even better if it was easier to see more of the level. I got hit a fair bit in situations that felt a little unfair cause i couldn't see the enemies until the last moment.

Super solid, ended up playing this one for a good while! Love the amount of upgrades, and having the player constantly be rewarded even through failure is pretty interesting.  Other than the size of the UI that others have pointed out, I don't really have many critiques -- just a good submission all around. Nice job!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, I wish the UI was smaller it made it a bit hard to see, besides that great job, art really amazing and gameplay is fun

Submitted(+1)

Very Fun, Very Polish, and there are so many upgrades as well, very well done.

Submitted(+1)

This can be an additive mobile game, can't wait to see the fireballs cover up the whole screen when shooting.

Increadible work :D I cant belive you have packed this many content !!  I love how the game looks espacily how enemies look. Controls are perfect and the pacing is great. My only complaint is sometimes enemies pawn too close to you and taking damage becomes ineviteble :/ Other than this small issue i enjoyed my time with this amazing work well done :D

Note:I would be happy if you could check out my game as well :d
