I love the idea! Its a really cool game, you made! I like the special abilities and the management part of trying to not be found. One idea I'll give is maybe turning this into a kind of deck builder rogue-like could be interesting.

Also, Zen Browser (Firefox based) freezes on the last into part. Had to use a Google based Browser

Go for it! From these two weeks I found it to be a VERY FLEXIBLE engine for visual novels! If you want it there is probably a way of doing it.

I'll say that somethings require some research because they might not be super straight forward thou, and personally I prefer the narrative writing of Ink (An interactive story scripting language) than Ren'py's. But they're docs are good enough, that's were I learned basically everything for this project.

Id say go for it! Learning something new is always fun!

Thank you so much for playing! You know I'm usually one to make the more "eventful" games but I wanted to try something  way different on this one, something that involved most of what I'm usually not that good at, art, story, and specially music!

Yeah ren'py's default binding for scroll wheel is to rewind the story. I removed A BUNCH of the default keybinds but left that one because it helped me test things... and then forgot to remove it xD Oh well!

Cool wave survival game you got! I like the humor a lot!

One thing I'll note, is that I like the idea of slamming into enemies to damage them, but the life steal perks makes this completely overpowered.

Other than that, it was quite fun! Good job!

Such a cool idea for a game! A full game of this seems would be really neat!

Great work!

Visually astonishing game! And the card game idea seems super cool!

Some feedback id like to give you is to try and convey more information to the player, I was often confused about which enemies were at low health, having the their current hp number show would be nice. This way the player can strategize better, which I think its one of the core feelings of a card game.

That and I think I found a bug when zooming a card form a card booster. If the card disappears, it gets zoomed forever.

But overall great job with what you guys did!

This is a really cool and well made game! I'm impressed you were able to fit it with all the menus, and game save stuff, really well done!

Time was thin, but I never stopped working on it when I had the chance! Hope the final version is enjoyable :)

This is a very interesting twist in the platformer genre! The movement controller seemed really nice, and it had good feedback for jumping and falling. The puzzle part with the sliders was also a clever addition, althou i'd say that maybe it would be better to reduce the amount of sliders to 2, this reducing the amount of keys, or finding an alternative key mapping for the sliders could improve the experience, just because its not an immediate thing and i needed to stop and think a bunch to know which slider I was moving xD

But even then, its a really solid game! Congratulations!

Simple and sweet! The speed up works great as the adrenaline to do the 'one more run' feeling. Theres only one thing I'm a bit confused, why are there portions with 3 openings? I suppose its for option of convinience, so you can either you the slip or the middle one, but usually I would just stuck to the one I initially was in xD

Great work on this submission!

A very well done game! The puzzles were quiet fun and the dificulty scalling was well paced, making sure the player always had the tools solve a given puzzle.

One idea I'll give if you further develop this is: if Bat isnt going to need to be on top of pressure plates or the likes, it could be good to make him auto path back to the player, that way we always have him there when we need him.

Either way, solid game, good job!

Solid mechanics and cool artstyle! Took me a while to figure out some of the mechanics, but thats just my skill issue hahaha

Good job!

This is such a wonderful idea! Im quite impressed with however you did this, I dont think scalable window's are the easiest to do xD The game loop and puzzles were also pretty cool! Althou Im not sure if its the scale he was in, but my knight seemed to have skipped leg day, his jumps were quite tiny hahaha

Either way, this a great submission!

Thank you for playing! Yeah balacing the game was a bit hard given the exponential nature of it. Having effectively infinite money can happen, although it depends heavily on your luck in the begining of the game and how you optimize what you are given. But for sure the balance is something we definitelly need to tweak more to give some challange at every point in the game.

Thank you for the comment! Yes the background makes the whole thing a bit cluttered, we tried to make it less agreesive by using a slight fade, but your idea of a blur is much better! Also giving placed buildings their own info card is a nice QoL feature we didnt even think about! Thank you so much for your feedback, we'll take it into consideration if we are to pick this idea up again!

Thank you!

Solid game loop, but as said before, some tweaking on the movement needed. Also a volume slider would be appreciated, so I could change the volume of the music on the game itself. It was a really good song, but a bit loud at times.

Either way, good job with the game!

Loved the vibe and charm of the game! I think the music choice and graphics actually fit idea very well!

As people have stated I do think the camera scroll could be a bit faster at times, at others it was good enough. One idea I give you is make the scroll speed dynamic, as in if the player gets to close to the right side, make is faster! Also if you wanna make platformers again, Tarodev on Youtube has a video explaining common platformer mechanics and how to implement them in code, maybe it could give you ideas for your own character controllers in the future ^^

Great work, keep it up!

Thanks! We aren't sure if/when we'll turn this concept into a fully fledged. Time will tell xD

Thanks for playing! We took some time trying to get the balance of the game good enough, in initial trials it was WAY too easy to just stomp! Althou even now I think its still possible to grow exponentially to great heights, but less likelly. It would depend on your luck and room optimization.

Theres alot of potential in this idea! One thing I'll say thou, giving the player the ability to go down ladders would help a bunch make your players feel more in control, unless you want to go for a more tight and pragmatic aproach to solving the levels.

Still, good job making this game! And in 48h! thats a feat and a half!

Interesting idea for a game! After reading the description I initially thought the movement was gonna start to lag or something xD but it was rly funny to bonk others to get OUT OF MY WAY! hahaha

Quite funny game, well done!

Yes I agree! The speed of it is part of the pressure to fulfil demands, thats why id say only making it a slight bit faster. That way the pressure is still there, but also the player feel more in control of the characte

Thanks! Yes we struggled with trying to make the make visually clear enough and as good looking as we could. I do agree it could be clearer, and definitelly its something we need to work on.

I love it when i get 4 Substations in a single hand xD

Thank you for playing! Actually thats a point we didnt consider buildings you just placed or that are present might not be immediately recognizable... Maybe adding the info bar from the card onto the built stuff could help that? Well thats something to look into, thanks for the input! ^^

I like the idea of the asymetrical puzzle game! It was a fun experience.

Im not too knowledgeable with 3d platformers, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think the movement could do with some tweaking for platforming. It wasnt bad mind you, but first person 3d platformers tend to be pretty rough, so maybe making  stuff like air straffing tighther could improve the overall feel.

Either way, cool idea and lots of potential! Good job!

Such a wonderful vibe! I think it was a really cool idea for a game, I just happen to be REALLY bad at scaling fish xD still quite fun. I'll suggest thou, maybe making the character a tad faster could work well with the time of game.

Also loved your interpretation of the theme! Clever!

Loved it! Simple, but well done and with character! I loved how you can just fill a room with potatoes hahaha

Great idea!

Thanks! We hoped basic mechanics were understandable, but hard to get higher scores, glad to know it wasnt a deal breaker.

Thank you for playing! Glad you liked it

Really cool game! Its snappy, entertaining and creative! The art style fits the vibe really well xD

Only one thing I didnt understand was why was the line "Disgusting" always appearing after every client? Not that it made it any less appealing, just wondering

Either way, good one!

I don't think I've ever seen a game about balancing random stuff on a scale! The 5 puzzle levels were really cool, altou im really bad at balancing stuff on a timer xD couldnt get a single level on infinite after trying like 5 times!
Overall, great job! Its a cool puzzle game!

Interesting game! I liked the vibe and especially the sanity mechanic! Also the puzzle was quite good, finding the signs and placing them in the right place. Would be cool to see this prototype expanded upon!

Damn this is a really cool and quite unique game as is with lots of potential! I love the low UI and quite intuitive gameplay. Some things I noticed that maybe could use some work is the sandwich making is a bit finicky with placing things on plates and buns, and the burners could cook food when turned off.

Either way great game, keep it up and hope you expand on it!

Thank you for playing! Yeah sadly a critical bug passed through my sleep deprived brain just 1h before the deadline (the imortal knife guys) and it makes me quite sad cuz with it the game is borderline unplayable. Still glad to hear you actually got to the second phase!

Also I completly agree with your feedback and im glad you gave it. The original idea was for the map to be more interesting, but due to constraints I had to streamline the process. The idea of adding a map or some kind of visual aid for the direction of the mouse pieces actually is quite a good QoL idea! Also the cutscenes are very hacky xD so they work on a timer but i'll add a button press in the future. Im already making plans to fix and add everything that I originally intended for the game after the jam is over!

A nice numbers go up game! Simple and fun :)

Hope to see more cool games from you in the future!

(1 edit)

Thank you so much so playing! Sorry to hear about your PC, althou with the current build on the jam im afraid you wouldnt be able to end it because of the major bug mentioned on the page, unless you tried REALLY hard. I'll have to fix that and much more after the jam is over :)

Thank you for playing! Im glad you enjoyed it!

queck

Thank you! We did want it to have some spice hahaha
