This is a very interesting twist in the platformer genre! The movement controller seemed really nice, and it had good feedback for jumping and falling. The puzzle part with the sliders was also a clever addition, althou i'd say that maybe it would be better to reduce the amount of sliders to 2, this reducing the amount of keys, or finding an alternative key mapping for the sliders could improve the experience, just because its not an immediate thing and i needed to stop and think a bunch to know which slider I was moving xD

But even then, its a really solid game! Congratulations!

Kinda feels like a rage game :D

The controls felt very frustrating for me as I wanted UIO to scale up and the others to scale done - I get that doesn't help the puzzles, but I kept getting confused and annoyed!

I really like the abstract art and as others have said the meters didn't fit with that - almost just want a basic bar like in the levels

some of the dark blue elements I was unsure if it was background or foreground.

The controller felt nice, but I almost wanted the jump to go a little further not higher in some places so get more of a precise landing (movement was maybe a little fast for landing on the smaller areas, but that is just maybe me!)

Nice entry!

Thanks for playing. Im sorry that it felt frustrating to play. I'll try to improve on the game further after the game jam. But thank you for your feedback!

Such glorious juice!  The visual and sound effects really add so much.  Movement felt so good.  Excellent mechanic.  It's simple and fits the theme really well.  Each level introduced something new and interesting, which gradually increased the difficulty.  The game is highly enjoyable.

Post-jam recommendations:

You might want to look into Nintendo's method of introducing a new mechanic in one level and then making the player master that mechanic in the next.

The meters to the bottom left of the screen look wrong, in terms of style.  Make them consistent with the rest of the game.

The grey platforms should be changed to a different colour.  Make the background shades of dark grey.  Check out "colour palettes" and stick with those colours for foreground elements.

The other thing is the time.  You need to round it to the nearest integer and use padding so it doesn't jerk around.  Otherwise, it spoils the otherwise decent looking game.

Thanks a lot for your comment, this really helps! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed it!

That's a great idea, for the jam I wanted every level to feel somewhat unique with a new mechanic sadly due to it being a 4 day jam I couldn't make a lot of levels. So after the jam I'll try to make multiple levels so that the player can get used to the mechanic and master it before introducing the next mechanic. in terms of mechanics I don't think I'll add any more. And I really want the levels to be good and not to feel rushed.

Yes, I felt the same way. Sadly I'm more of a pixel artist than a non-pixel artist. I gave it a few shots at making something different than pixel art but It didn't turn out very well so I didn't want to include it in the game. But for this game i really wanted to experiment with simple cubes and contrast between the background and the foreground.

The grey platforms should be changed to a different colour.  Make the background shades of dark grey.  Check out "colour palettes" and stick with those colours for foreground elements.

I'll definitely look into a different color for the grey platforms. It was a big focus to make the levels and definitely the background look really good with simple cubes. I also think there can be improved upon the coloring.

Thanks I also had noticed it but I couldn't find a quick solution to this, so I just left it as it was and kind of forgot about it. I'll definitely change that.

I don't think that I can thank you enough for your feedback. It means a lot to me!

Really fun game with a good concept! I haven’t even noticed any bugs in the gameplay and I had an overall great time playing the game. One small complaint would be that there is a big difficulty spike right at the end of level 7 which made it a little annoying, while level 8 was overall even more challenging but fair at the same time.

Developer(+1)

Im happy you enjoyed it. The difficulty in level 7 and 8 was intentional but Im happy to hear what you think of it. I think that I am going to further improve on the game after the jam primarily to improve the difficulty curve. Thanks for your comment!

The concept of managing character movement while simultaneously stretching and shrinking three different types of platforms is unique and engaging. Although it was a bit challenging to keep track of all three platform controls, the overall gameplay was smooth and satisfying. The controls felt very responsive, and the graphics were pleasant, adding to the overall enjoyment. Great work!

Thank you very much. Im very happy you enjoyed it!

Reallly cool concept, with the three bars i felt more like a pianist that a gamer Xd. I really enjoyed how everything is very polished and the character trail. Great entry!

Very cool concept, great level design! I needed a little bit of time to get used to the controls (it feeled better for me moving with the arrow keys) but it was worth it! :)

The different angle sliders and platforming feels pretty nice! I liked the movement of the player actually! Maybe a restart level button for when we run out of juice for the future?

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for your comment. I'm happy you enjoyed it. You can increase the sliders by using the U/I or O keys and decrease it with J/K or L keys. A restart button could be a good idea.

Fun game and a great execution of the concept! Imho the scale control sliders are a bit slow, the game would be a bit more fluent if it was faster.

Cool idea and great level design!
Some of the last levels were pretty hard but really fun.

I find the player a bit hard to control, but that's my only issue.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment. I'm happy that you liked it. The player definitely takes some time to get used to maybe after the jam I'll try to improve further on the players controls.

Great execution! It was certainly difficult to keep track of 6 keys at once, and I wish there could have been an easier, more intuitive way to do this, but really cool work! Check out my game too!

Developer

Thank you for your comment. Its an issue I have also been having but I have gotten used to it but I am also the developer. After the jam I might continue the project and try to fix some if these annoyances. I'm happy you enjoyed it. I'll definitely try out your game too!

Great platforming with a chaotic puzzle/management concept layered on top. The last two levels got especially brutal, and it was really difficult to try to manage all three sliders while simultaneously platforming. But overall, great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your comment, I hope the difficulty scaling wasn't too hard. But I was really trying to make the final 2 very difficult. I hope you enjoyed it.
