Thanks! I was trying to model my bass to sound similar to Virt/Jake Kaufman (particularly his FX4 album) because they're so neat.  Check that album out if you haven't heard of it :D

Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m still very new at mixing (so much so that I’m not exaaactly sure what I’m supposed to do), but I feel like this jam has definitely given me a lot of really useful information to grow from, and I really appreciate the specific details you gave about the mix.

Also, of course, thanks a lot for the kind words as well :)

Nice chiptunes!! You put so much character into those simple synths, which isn't the easiest thing to do. I love that boss theme. AMAZING job!!

Immediately reminded of Aivi & Surasshu with your absolutely beautiful instrumentation. I wish I had a whole album, but that's probably a bit too greedy haha.  Amazing job!!

Beautiful instrumentation!  And very solid submission as a whole! Loving the bongo and shaker/tambourine in the pieces. Great job!

After listening to both tracks, I went back and listened to the first just so I can give myself context for the first track again, and it's really clear the recurring theme you were showing.  It works super well!  Great job!

Nice!  I love how connected the themes feel across your entire submission.  Amazing job!

The modulation and composition is so pretty! Also, there's just something about a virtual flute sound that is incredibly nostalgic to me (I used them in my submission too lol).  I definitely get octopath traveller vibes from sections of this. Amazing job!

I looooove the instrumentation/effects choices made in this submission! Very unique! And all the pieces work really well together so well that I can almost se the imagery in my head of the scenes you were describing. Great job!

Ooooo Great instrumentation and composition!  Since you're asking for critique, I think I'd echo Synlyfe's comment about the mix being a bit peaky when everything comes in, but it's a great piece otherwise.  Great job!

I love the "paaang" sounds like rain drops hitting a bucket outside (which are probably something like hang drums in an upper register maybe?)!  Such a cool effect in an already great piece. I'm a big sucker for the chiptune instruments as well. Great job!

JUNGLE JUNGLE JUNGLE!! Don't mind me, I'm just vibing. Great job!!

Very pretty while also being fairly energetic! Great job!

I love this submission so much.  I'm a huge fan of baroque in general, and the vocal instrument in that track definitely reminds me of the music from Katamari games.  The entire soundtrack is very unique.  I'm a huge fan of blending old sounding instruments with new "real" sounding instruments, so this is right up my alley.  Great job!

Thanks!! I have been meaning to play FF6 specifically because of the music, but I've been working my way up through the first one and I'm just now at FF4. One day! :D

This is such a great piece!  It definitely hits that sweet spot needed in video game soundtracks where it's interesting without being distracting as well as having a solid theme without being repetitive.  I also got quite a bit of Lena Raine-era Minecraft soundtrack vibes in this piece. Amazing job!

Piano and chiptune-esque simple synths; I love this combo so much! I definitely feel Celeste, and with how often I'm seeing Risk of Rain being referenced in this jam, I feel like I should play it or at least listen to the soundtrack haha.  The build with the distant drums at 5:22 also reminds me quite a bit of Sword and Sworcery (Jim Guthrie).  Great job!

I LOVED the instrumentation on this!  The first track definitely reminded me of "Home" from Undertale.  The third track also reminded me of Night in the Woods.  Though I think my favorite is definitely Newfound Malice because I'm a sucker for all things chiptune and chip fusion. Lots of great vibes throughout!

Beautiful piano sound in the first track.  Finding the Way has a great mysterious/meditative vibe which I like quite a lot, especially the glissando on that synth in the upper register. Great job!

Really nice 'wandering' vibe while still having great structure in the piece.  I love the synths that start halfway through. Good job!

Good job! I agree with Zephyr that I definitely wanted more. Some more variance or even drums would be a cool idea, though a minimalist soundtrack was probably what you were aiming for  :) It sounded great

Lucidity immediately reminded me of My Neighbor Totoro's soundtrack, though it did diverge once more instruments came it, but it's a neat vibe! You did a great job!

Journey Towards Reality really has a DS-era Pokemon vibe to it! Really cool sound! I think my favorite has to be Encounter, though I wish it was longer ;)

Really pretty melodic lines and harmonies throughout!  Some of the pieces sound like they could be the main track in a Pixar short. :)  My favorite has to be A Way Out

Jealous of your skills and time management to get all this done in a week!  Amazing job!  The instrumentation, expression, and modulations are all very beautiful and well-thought-out.

Wow!  I love the piano in both the pieces, but the thematic shift in The Plunge gave me goosebumps!  I immediately could see the scene you described in my head.  Great work!!

Thanks so much!

Thanks!!  It is always such an interesting decision of whether to embrace artificiality or a more realistic sounding instrument since I'm trying to blend old and new kinds of sounds. The vocal instrument was originally a placeholder but I ended up liking it so much by the end, it made the cut haha. I do love some DS soundfonts- I should download some for the next jam! Meteor Shower has some wild progressions, I'm so glad it translates well!

Thanks! I appreciate you listening even though it's not exactly your preference. People are usually divided with the instrumentation I typically use anyway, but I'm glad the composition works! :D

Thanks so much! It was definitely a blast to work on!

Amazing track! Super energetic!  On an unrelated note, I suddenly feel like booting up Dance Dance Revolution. ;)

Wow! Such a great atmosphere!  I'm loving the glitchy effects as well as the entirety of the combat piece.

Making a little game for my wife for her birthday with the the handful of asset packs I've bought from you.  They honestly look amazing!  Any updates on this pack's compatibility with RPG Maker MV/MZ?
