Description
-- Music genre: Y2K Jungle/DnB

-- DAW: Ableton Live 12

-- Gameplay inspiration: Ape Escape (mainly PS2 era)

-- Visual inspiration: PS2, DC, 2000s era, Digimon

(or just the design of various cute little monsters)😋

The story takes place in an alternate reality, almost our present, but with a larger range of incredible cool-technologies.

Unfortunately, there is also a high increase in addicted people to be constantly online on their social networks.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You play as one of the members of a special unit (Psy-Crew), which uses unique technology to detect so-called Psy-Monsters (code name for these creatures), which cannot be seen normally with your own eyes. The Psy-Crew wears special glasses that allow them to locate these monsters and also use special capture discs that, upon contact with the creature, pull them into the disc.

Psy-Monsters are mental apparitions (Which look like small primitive creatures),

created by each of us who use mobile devices unhealthy and above all visit social networks on a large scale.

NOTES:

Changes in people's moods and behavior are visually exaggerated in the game so that every player immediately understands what mood a particular person (victim) is in.

Each individual monster controls its creator (human) and literally manipulates him:

-- Either brings them depression. It demotivates them and thus this "victim" becomes frustrated and may even attack the surroundings in anger.

-- Or, on the contrary, this monster can cause an unhealthy happy mood, full of endorphins. A person focuses on his "likes" or "views" and then he can run around bumping into others like a madman.

Such individual people become social zombies who walk aimlessly and constantly look at the display from their mobile device. These Psy-Monsters literally create a closed "inner world" for these human victims.

You definitely try to avoid the attacks of these manipulated people who control these Psy-Monsters. Your goal in the game is to catch as many Psy-Monsters as possible and bring balance to such a serious situation as the worldwide dependence on technology and social networks.

In this game you will meet (maybe for the first time in history) the "Big Brother" himself as the main boss.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Levels mostly take place in public spaces such as (Giant shopping malls, beaches, parks, streets...)

Love the jungle music! You did a great job with the mixing and overall sound design, and you also did a great job with the art as well! My favorite of the two was "Azure Coral Shopping Center." Great job!

Something Different! Despite not playing the game you mentioned - I absolutely know the vibe that you were going for and the closest game I can think of are the synthy tracks of Xenosaga II.

Nice!
Also - love the art!

Main Menu: Your music is always very impressive to me! You are able to balance many fast-moving elements and have it all flow so well together. My favorite part is the melody at 0:46 and the unexpected chord change at 0:56! I imagine a racing game when I hear this style of music and it seems like it would be perfect for your game idea!

Azure Coral Shopping Center: I think that the background arpeggiating warbly sounds are what sell the watery atmosphere for me on this one. Your mixing is something to aspire toward and I love the kind of “in and out” effects throughout.

Overall: Your tracks are always so impressive! Your game idea is also intriguing and is very appropriate for the way our society functions these days. Excellent work and thank you for sharing!

Digimon and early 2000s jungle beats are some of the things I feel nostalgic to and this track nails it hard. the first song especially. The aesthetics go hard, I'm surprised this wasn't rated as much as I expected. The only complaint I had is that there isn't any more of it.

Btw, since the final boss is called "Big Brother", was the novel 1984 another inspiration for the entry? Just curious cause that would be wild if it did.

Developer

Thanks. "Big Brother" was just an idea about how our data is already circulating on the Internet and targeting us with ads and personal interests. And most importantly, no one has actually seen "Big Brother" in person.👀

The fact that there aren't many tracks is because I haven't been able to spend as many days as possible on it. I deal with a lot of personal matters and there is also a lot of work in the garden. I wanted to create more but it was not possible.

I'm personally sorry.

Honestly, thats alright, your songs are pretty great and the ideas are presented with care and effort. the fact that you were able to do this much along with your personal problems makes your songs all the more special.

Also you should read the summary of 1984, there's a whole lot of similarities with the final boss and the antagonist of the book.

no one ever seen "Big Brother" in the novel but he's in control of the entire world through complete manipulation, it's an incredibly interesting read

Developer

Not that I had personal problems, but simply that I had a lot of other matters that could not be postponed.

I had a third track planned, but I just didn't have time to create it.

Yeah, that's exactly the concept that would be here. after all, the "Big Brother" look would probably still be slightly hidden. There would be a clash with him anyway.

love the vibe of this!! it makes me think of the world ends with you in a way, it works really well for the world you've created <3

I fuck with this SOOO hard. I was hoping someone would submit something like this, I love the whole aesthetic so much. I can totally see the influence from Ape Escape and Digimon, I love both of their OSTs so much. You absolutely blew it outta the park, especially with the mixing, its totally on the spot with how the sound was back when this kind of music was at its peak. Again, absolutely awesome job!!

The cover art is absolutely fantastic and the music is also fantastic. Just a fantastic entry I guess

AAH THIS COVER ART IS BEAUTIFUL

An interesting genre, melodic, despite the general madness of jungle as a genre, sound. And in general... cool! I like. (I don't even know what else to say. Oh, right. I danced to this soundtrack)

...And I like the idea of the game! Sounds like something I'd like to play (Try to assemble a team and make a game, huh)

I still don't know what jungle is and at this point I'm afraid to ask. Absolutely nailed the vibe though, a top pick of mine for sure!

Jungle stuff! Refreshing, loved the overall aesthetic. Azure Coral does stand out, but both tracks were great nonetheless. Nice going!

First, I love your art cover !!

Second, I am hyped and wondering how it is to meet Big Brother in person haha!

That electro fast paced beat is really cool, chasing these cute but devilish little monsters with a flashy disc-gun... Fantastique !

Good lord I saw the cover and immediately said to myself this has to be some sort of Jungle mix and hot damn, it's fantastic. Admittedly an absolute sucker for this genre. Genuinely feels like something that would fit right in around the late 90s/early 00s - I'd jam to this in and out of game. Reminds me of when I used to boot up games just to stand still and groove out, haha.

I love both, but I have to say you absolutely nailed it with Azure Coral Shopping Center. I'm not sure what it is about centres and urban/mall environments in games but they have this very particular 'sauce' in the sound and you've captured it perfectly. Great work - it's a win in my books. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with in the future!

I LOVE JUNGLE MUSIC! Really loving the world you created with this soundtrack. Loving the mixing as well. Fav track is definitely shopping center! It really helps me visualize the gameplay for this fake game lol. Great work!

Sounds great! Your idea is very creative! Keep up the good work!
