No worries! I wasn't trying to correct you, I just find it kind of amusing lol. I'm glad it resonates with people!

Ironically none of us are women (anymore) lol. I hope you enjoyed it, though! And I hope you never let anyone pull the metaphorical rusty shears on you

Lol, why thank you!

Thank you for playing our game! I'm glad you had fun

Thank you! I'm glad you liked them!

Thank you!

I enjoyed this game! The character design is really good and I like the mechanic. I feel like the text boxes could stand out more visually? With all the rest of the game looking so good, they're a bit hard to see. I didn't actually notice them the first time they popped up lol, I thought a word would appear in the dialogue box. I could see how that would be difficult though, especially during a jam.

I really liked this game! The writing is pretty good, and the character designs are amazing (I love the dm lol)! Sorron looks really fun to draw. The end screen goes away too fast to see it very well, which is a shame because it looks really cute!

This was a super nice little game! The custom assets are really cute, and the title/lose/win screen is pretty impressive. Hoods are hard enough to draw with full resolution lol. My major point of critique is that because I'm playing with a trackpad, the spell controls don't work for me! In trying to beat the game without them I discovered that you can just run around the enemies and still eventually win. Still enjoyed it though :]

I love the fish sprites! The colors are nice and the style is really unique.

Very charming little game! I liked the visuals a lot. I struggled to get very far, though. A lot of the tutorial text is off-screen, so I couldn't see all of it before I needed it, and had to try and figure everything out myself.

Very cute game, I enjoyed it! The sound effects are really nice, as well as the art. I especially like the animation of the player character. I do feel the game mechanics are very unforgiving, but I suppose that's not necessarily a flaw.

That's fair! It was a very nice ending, I liked it regardless of the limitation

Oh, replaying the game I realized I just misinterpreted the first few lines about the radio! It actually does start at the correct time.

Ah, I totally understand that! Solo game jams are super hard and I have no clue how anybody can do them haha.

The sound design of this was pretty good! I did notice the radio seemed to come on later than it should've though, and it would've been nice to have some background music to set the tone. I'm not a huge fan of visual novels but I must admit it was kind of fun ruining this guy's life and finding all the endings. I liked the visuals too, the composition of all the shots was really good! I will say though, that the use of limitation was kind of a streach.

I'm so glad you liked my writing!! I've written a lot before, but I've never make a finished project with any of it so it means a lot to me that you enjoyed it. To answer your questions:

  1. Yes! The story isn't actually finished because we didn't have the time, but the idea is that you're meant to piece together the story as you play.
  2. This kind of has the same answer as the last question - you'll find out if you play the finished version :)
  3. You're right about the decay, but there's no other ending. Even the final game will only have one ending. I mean, they're already dead and you can't change the past, huh?

Thank you!! I'm glad you liked it!

Of course, I hope it was helpful! I replayed the game and I think it's much better! I think the little puzzles to get through the place are pretty fun. I'm glad to hear you're still working on the game.

This was a very cute little game, I found it pretty fun! I love the animation of Black Hole #38 at the start, it's got a whole lot of character for being so simple! The use of limitation kind of got lost with the twist at the end, though.

I really liked this game! I actually found it really scary - probably in part by the wacky effects. They're very disorienting and it's nerve-wracking when the Imsomed look larger in your perifery than when you look at them straight-on (those are both positive things haha). I love how big the Isomed are compared to the player, it just makes them terrifying when they get close to you. My only critique is that it's hard to know when you're going to run out of gasoline, and the Isomed move really fast in the dark, so when you run out of gasoline, even if you have more in your hand you're pretty much screwed. I think the best way to fix this would be to add some indicator that the gas is running low, such as the light getting dimmer.

Oh that's clever, I could totally see that working! Half of the games I've worked on had to be submitted after the jam so I certainly understand your plight haha.

This was a lovely little game! I found it very fun to figure out the best ways to use the stats and how to hire effectively as the game went on. The sound design was pretty well done too - the music was pleasant and the little chimes when you do well were very rewarding lol. The artstyle is also incredible!! The title screen is amazing and I love how much character everyone has, especially the mayflies. If you ever want to update the game to give it a bit more content I would love for there to be different stages and challenges!

I really enjoyed this game! The art style was really cool and the animations were absolutely incredible! The death animations were gorgeous (and I know how hard those are to make lol), especially they players. It's such a dramatic moment when the background fades to black and they fall to their knees, I love it! The game was also really fun! The challenge was very fun and I found myself playing the game over and over again to try and beat it. I did find two glitches, though. If you stand against the red barrier in the first level as far up as you can, one of the enemies shoots at you and the bullets appear to hit, but you take no damage. Also, when I entered full screen mode I was unable to move, and only sometimes are was I able to once I left it afterwards (I'm playing on a windows with a small screen size, in case that helps you fix it).

I think this game is pretty clever! I like the premise and it felt like the bodies that were further away lasted longer, which I think was a nice touch that made the game more playable. Speaking of playability, though, the mouse sensitivity was extremely high and I found it incredibly disorienting and difficult to work with. I also felt like only being able to play the game once wasn't a particularly good use of the limitation, because it made it so you could never get better at the game, and the score you got while you were still figuring the game out was just the score you got. Besides, the limitation is also already used well in the gameplay itself, so I don't think only being able to play the game once adds anything to the experience. I do like how the game looks, though. The dramatic lighting is very noir, and I'm a sucker for games with funky 3D models.

The visuals were very nice, I liked the character animations and my teammate liked the models. The camera angles were very cool and creative, but they did make the game harder to play. Especially in that section with the storage container next to the concrete wall, it felt like you were supposed to go towards it because of the angle, even though you had to go the opposite direction. We didn't get much further in the game because once you pick up the wrench the player gets stuck and you can't move. The idea for the use of limitation sounded really cool, but because we could only get so far we didn't actually see it being used in the game. The player was also really hard to control due to both the speed and camera angles.

This game was delightful, me and my teammate played it four times! My only criticism was that there wasn't any use of the limitation gameplay-wise and that you had to refresh the page to replay the game. Other than that it was wonderful. I adore the art style, it feels very noir while also being unique - and also just looked good. I also always appreciate the use of funky fonts.

I played this with my teammate and we really enjoyed it! We thought it was a very good concept, and the writing was amazing! However, it could use some more polish, but I understand it's a jam game - some times it be like that. For example, the timer only having the seconds and not the minutes shown really confused me, because once it ran out the first time I assumed it was a debugging feature and that we weren't on a time limit.
Another piece of critique: again, we both love the concept, but I feel like having a timer on a dialogue-based game is a bit unfair, since it punishes slower readers. Maybe you could have the timer pause when there's text on screen?

Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed our game! I wasn't sure how the animation for those guys would turn out so I'm very happy to know you enjoyed it!

I really like Drip's animation, it has a lot of character and was really fun to look at. The puzzle design was also really good! I do think it suffered from how easily a simple mistake could ruin an entire level and having to restart so much made it more frustrating. Despite the puzzles being really frustrating at times once I did complete them I found it very gratifying. Also the puzzles themselves were very fun to try and sort out. I also think the player movement was a little jarring. Other than that though, I really enjoyed this game!
