Ah yeah that's totally fair! It can certainly take a while to get the hang of new music software

I totally agree with the other comments below, solid game except the reload button not working sometimes! The water level is cute how all the dinos have scuba goggles... I kinda feel bad for killing those adorable dinos.
Also super catchy soundtrack. I listened to it on bandcamp as well so I could hear more of it without dying lol.
Unfortunately I got stuck in a tree in the forest and couldn't continue. I'm not a huge fan of the mixed pixel resolutions when walking around (even though that's probably more NES-accurate), but the monster art and attack art is so cool and quite varied! Also the soudntrack is fantastic and high-energy
The graphics and monster design is great (especially the bullet rose that's awesome!) but I can't get myself to finish the game yet because the character movement feels too clunky for me. Maybe it's just because I'm used to playing games with fast responsive characters, but it feels like I'm fighting the character movement more than the enemies at times.
That aside, the level design is really nice! and the music is very castlevania. I may come back to this later and try again to beat it
Very charming music! Overall cool gameplay but the camera felt slightly jittery to me, I think it was because there's a little bit of slipperiness on the tiles? The animations are all really smooth and nice, especially the rat king. I love the tiny rat dropping bomb boots from the ceiling. Nice submission!
I love this game! The difficulty feels really fitting for an NES game and the gameplay was very enjoyable. I didn't get very far yet but I'm eager to continue playing later when I have more time.
The graphics are cute, I love the colors you chose. Also even though it's not authentic chiptune, the music and SFX are great!
This was fun to play! It was challenging at first trying to get oriented. I feel like the percentage below the map isn't completely necessary, and it could be better for the player to have to be fully confident in its precision before going to the main character instead of giving it away with a 100%. Great game, great pixel art, good music and sfx! (the enemy was scary too I didn't expect it to actually chase me)
Thanks for the feedback! I composed the music for it, but I see your point. The loop is actually is 50 seconds long, but the first section of it repeats twice, which makes it sound like a short loop. I didn't think it would be an issue but then I realized the game is too hard that most people don't last long enough to hear the rest of it. In our finished post-jam version we'll include audio settings and also fix the difficulty.
Not to be weird by commenting like 3 months later, but I really admire this game's soundtrack! I keep coming back here just to listen. So weird and beautiful, very tasteful use of dissonance.
Great work Alios! Are there any particular composers or styles of music that inspired this piece?
(btw the art and gameplay is very nice as well)
