Artwork is lovely, nice parallax with the moving clouds in the background. Shooting mechanic is fun, though not certain moving you character is that useful, found myself just camping in the middle and timing my shots left and right (arrow moves faster than me). Good that you get health back for every rock destroyed, made the game much more playable and forgiving. Well Done!

Very FUN and UNIQUE idea on this game! AWESOME WORK!!! GREAT WORK!!! NICE MECHANICS!!! This was a fun challenging game. Loved it.
Would love to see more too after the jam.

I liked the feel of the gameplay and controls. I also really like how everything looks, it looks great and very nice job on the game!

Amazing artwork and great submission. :-)

Wow the art is really top tier 5/5

Gameplay could have more content but it's solid enough for a gamejam as a solo coder. Good job making a successful submission.

Wow, the art in your game is so pretty! Everything fits together super well, the thumbnail alone already really caught my attention, the rock crumbling animation is cool, the background looks gorgeous and the character design and drawings are all beautiful too. Really well done on that front! It's also cool that you came up with this whole story but I think I'd have preferred if it wasn't all front loaded in a wall of text and instead had some kind of back and forth with gameplay sections or was embedded in a cutscene to make it more engaging.

Gameplay could have used some more variation and depth as it got old pretty quickly. But it's basically fine. One interesting thing about it is the arrow travel time and that you have to aim ahead of the moving obstacles so that the arrow hits them where they will be. I'd like it a bit more if the difficulty ramped up over time I think. Or if there was a way to win at some point.

Excellent art, and clean mechanics! Those rock explosions are satisfying!

I noticed hitting a rock would make my lost health flicker, but I never saw it return in full. Do I need to hit 10 rocks in a row to regain a heart or something like that?

In any case, well done!!

Neat game, I managed a score of 63

It has very nice art, and game progression in terms of the rocks getting faster so you have to lead your shots and react fast.

Felt like a badass when you don't miss a shot (until you do lol)

Nice job :D

I didn't realize that the rocks hitting the ground also counted as taking damage, the first time I played. Knowing that, this was the best score I could manage!

Very solidly made game, and I really like the art which first drew my attention when I saw it in the list of submissions. All it really needs is some sound and background music to complete the feel of a small but complete game.

Oh, one other thing. In the intro, there's this line: "A skilled archer with exceptional focus and unwavering spirit, rose as one of their fiercest defenders." It's missing a word or two between 'spirit,' and 'rose'  to make it a proper sentence. :)

Neat little game, shows a lot of care and polish for a first prototype! I found the health/damage system somewhat counterintuitive (as opposed to losing health for every rock you miss), but I appreciate that it was something different and I can see ways to develop on it further. Very cool stuff!

Beautiful game! One of my favorites! The gameplay was fun and the controls were dialed in really well. I feel like having nice responsive controls is key for this type of game and I can tell a lot of love was put in.
Also thanks for putting your About Us! It warms my icy heart to hear that you got to work on this together as your first prototype.
Awesome job all around!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! We're so happy you liked it. We aimed to make the controls feel responsive and appreciate your feedback. Still, it needs a lot more polishing, which we'll focus on after the jam. It's our dream to be able to work full-time together one day :D

I believe you will achieve this!

Developer

Thank you!!!

Well done! the art is fantastic and the controls responsive... good luck with the jam :)

Fun game, gorgeous art style. Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much! We are  glad that you found the game enjoyable, and I truly appreciate your kind words about the art style.

The game looks amazing, I love the art and the little details here and there (e.g. the arrows bounding off the walls is a really cute touch)! Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you so much for your kind words! It’s great to hear that you’re enjoying the game and appreciating the art and details.

It looks really good. Like how you  setup the character to move left and right with the bow. A bit sad that the character is only visible from the back, but nice hair style.

The rocks are falling a bit fast. Its pretty shallow on gameplay would have loved to shoot at someting else with the bow as this was fun.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! We are glad that you appreciated the character movement and the bow mechanics. 😊

Yes, the time pressure said its word. We needed to cut a lot of stuff in order to submit something playable. But after the Game Jam is over, we are planning to iterate over this prototype. We are gathering all proven feedback so we can consider it for the next iterations.

Like the art! Quite well done, but I wished there were more variation of what's dropping down. Maybe something that dropped till mid point and change to the player direction 1 time. Or different items for power up. Feels there's potential =D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback and the kind words about the art! We're thrilled you liked it. 😊 We planned to add a lot of stuff, but because of the limited time we had to work, we were "forced" to cut a lot of it. We are glad that we are not the only ones who see the potential, so we are planning to iterate more on this prototype and will consider all the feedback we get!

Beautiful art and very responsive controls. Feels like a lot of effort went into this!

BTW I noticed in another comment you mentioned not being able to update - check out the Jam's overview page, they say it's ok to make fixes after the submission date :)

Developer

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. Indeed, a lot of effort went into this project, which at times made it a little stressful😅, but we had a lot of fun building it. And thank you for the tip about the overview page!

The art is amazing! I really like the look of the game!

Good game I enjoyed!  :)

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! We’re thrilled that you enjoyed both the art style and the game. 😊

I say it again and again, clicking all platforms for a download will not make itch.io convert a windows build magically for all other platforms.

Please provide a REAL Linux build for download! It's really not hard to provide one with Unity. Simply install the appropriate modules in the Hub, then switch platform from Windows to Linux, and hit "build".

Developer(+2)

Thank you for letting us know about the download issue. You’re absolutely right; clicking ‘All Platforms’ won’t create a functional Linux build. When we were building the game, we assumed it would be built for all platforms, so that’s on us. We will check the submission policies again, and we are going to provide a WebGL build.

Submitted

Why don't you add the WebGL build right here on itch? ;)

Really pretty. I loved all the hand painted trees. Gameplay ran smooth. I couldn't get audio to work, if there was some. Them arrows are powerful. Thank you for submitting.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words! We're so glad you enjoyed the hand-painted trees and smooth gameplay. Actually we didn't have time to add the sound effects. Thanks again for playing!
