Simple but very atmospheric. The interval before the arrival of the skulls is eerie and well executed. Perhaps it is a little too difficult for my taste, but I will keep playing it to practise!
Oh wow, the ambience of this game. You guys did a great job!
Cool game
One of my favs of the jam. Looks really beautiful and very atmospheric. One of the few games that I wanted to play again and again. Excellent job!
The ambience really got me, I cant seem to get past 30ish seconds though. Fun game! Loved the SFX and how creepy it all sounded. Falling into the white did trigger my thalassophobia a bit XD
This was really fun! For some reason I thought I was a stationary turret the first few rounds. Once I figure out that I can move and shotgun blast I was able to to get up to 1:05. The heretic was great foil to the strafing strategy and I was forced go straight back in order to kill them. Awesome job!
Very atmospheric.
The laughing sound of the skulls is very creepy in the best way.
My longest survival time was only 0:33:42 as the heretic always gets me.
Really nice submission.
Very fun, very challenging. Definitely scratches my competitive itch to continuously replay and get better scores.
Nice game! The 3D 1-bit art style is done very well. The ambient music & SFX are great too. The game is a bit too difficult and doesn't match the theme.
Well the game is really hard, could do a little difficulty settings, maybe also a crosshair, but that's the only negative thing I have about it. The art is actually amazing! I adore the effect of light blending in with the dark, and the trail effect of the player was a great choice as it looks really good while moving. The SFX and atmosphere sound are also really fitting. Overall, that's awesome work!
These skulls kicked my ass!
I played a little longer than I care to admit before realizing I could move. That improved my score quite a bit.
I think it's all very smooth, and I think that using your survival time as the score makes a lot of sense.
I think the rest of the comments below kinda cover everything else so I'll just say I enjoyed this, it spooked me, and I confirmed suck :D

This is a great submission! I have a lot of respect for developers who choose to do a 3D game for these short jams even if it's relatively simple. I always do 2D for jams since there's so much less to worry about. It's also an enjoyable experience although I agree with a few criticisms made by evigouroux and SoulsTogetherX. Mainly I wish it was easier to contend with the enemies since they spawn frequently. Could just be that I suck though. Despite that, I think you did an overall good job!
Really cool! Nice work!
played it again and I gotta say I felt bad about my rating now lol
Thank you for the love! I'm pretty sure you can update your rating and resubmit them if you really want to.
1-bit fps game is really fun!
I'm not sure if I see your implementation of the theme, I almost fee like this game would've had its place in the last 1Bit "light and dark".
Still, always nice to see an fps in such a short timeframe. The movement felt really good and the differences between blessed and cursed skulls was a neat Idea. It's a bit sad that the player is encouraged to flee the skull so much, actually shooting them makes it really hard to dodge the new spawns.
I actually think that having a more damaging gun and faster ennemies would be the way to go. Solid entry anyway
Thank you for the feedback, and yeah we know we didn't manage to fit the theme in very well.
that skull scared the crap out of me
Cool ambiance. I think i miss a little aim indicator and enemy coming from the back are hard to avoid imo. Good job on doing a 3d game witch good performance on web.
Okay, I’m not just bad. I confirmed it.
First, I want to take notice of some of the cool features you added. For one, the game’s settings save even after closing and returning to the game. For some reason, they only save after pressing the play button, instead of exiting the options menu, but meh.
You also managed to get the color of your weapon to change when appropriate. Very cool.
Obviously, the leaderboard too. I don’t know if it is global, but if it is, that is very cool!
…and also worrying. Why? Because I just got the world record (30 seconds)…by running.
The concept of the game (arcade 3D shooter) is a good mix of staples, really, but when you can get further in the game by running than actually trying to shoot, there is a fundamental problem. And, this time, the problem is the gun.
I want to emphasize that your game is much better than most people can make. As I said, the leaderboard and all that I mentioned before, but I do feel that some more time should have been put into the shooting part. As it is now, it’s a much more viable strategy to just forsake shooting and run around the arena (for the average player, I mean).
I got that world record on my first try after thinking of the running strategy after all.
Of course, as I said, the skeleton of this game is good. That’s why it can be drastically improved with just a few additions.
Suggestion 1: the gun should probably have a spread to it, and maybe shoot multiple projectiles at once. As it is, the enemies move too fast, and bunch up too much, for the straight aim to work. It would also give more juice to your game if there was a bit of visual randomness.
Suggestion 2: The enemies should be slower or more visually apparent. As it is, it’s hard to tell heads from tails from everything. That’s probably just a 1-bit thing, but limitations are limitations.
Suggestion 3: Maybe an exclamation mark on the side of the player’s screen closest to the nearest enemy out of view would work better. In my first playthrough, I got killed by something I didn’t know was even there.
Now, again, you did great! My world is not law and I’m merely giving a bit of feedback from my experience. When all is said and done, I thank you for sharing your game with us.
Thanks for the feedback! It should probably be specified better in the highscore menu that the leaderboard is local only and not global to save the confusion. Your suggestions have defiantly been noted though.
Yay I got the world record!
