The art style in this game was very cute and lovely ! I really enjoyed the little chirps that the bat would make, as well as the little bits of dialogue here and there. The name was super clever !! Keep up the good work :)
Cute art with some nice mechanics. Good use of the theme with the bulbs and eyes. I liked it!
Creative puzzle game! I liked how you had to figure out the right configuration and order of the eyes to get through.
It did take a while for me to figure out that there were different types of eyes (I didn't read the description beforehand). It never occurred to me that your light and the throwable/place-able lights would do different things. Even once I figured it out I never realized the difference until reading the description. I think this may be due to how dark the game is overall for me since I'm not looking too closely at black on black. For the jam version, there isn't really a problem, especially since you put it in the description, and doing trial and error is short enough that there's no major issues. If this were to be expanded though, especially if levels get longer, some more in-game explanations would be needed. You could even change the shapes of the eyes to be a bit more drastic so as to be told at a glance.
All that of course could just be chalked up to user error, so don't pay it too much mind.
My favorite puzzle was level 3. There's something satisfying about using the level and eyes to your advantage to get the lightbulbs where they need to go! In the case of expansion, I'd like to see more puzzles along these lines, where you manipulate something through the eyes, rather than just lighting up the right ones in the correct order.
Great job everyone, and a solid entry to the jam!
Thanks a lot for your elaborate feedback!
If enough people enjoy our game, we definetely will improve on the in game tutorial, with a much slower start explaining each mechanic on its own. Knowing that missing an explaination might be detrimental to the fun of the game, I added a short explaination of the eyes in the description :D But like you admitted yourself, I assume most people dont bother reading past the controls, which makes the in game explaination much more needed.
Thanks for playing, we are glad you liked it :)
An interesting and cool game with interesting mechanics related to the movement of light :)
Soo cute! Mechanics are quite hard to get at first, maybe so clearer explanation, either in the game or on the game's page, would've helped, but good entry! <3
Such a cute character and artstyle! Didnt really get the game mechanics at first, but it got clear after some playing. Really liked it!
Interesting concept, and I really like the art style. Good job!!
Cute art, interesting mechanics... the SFX reminded me of Yooka Laylee. Nice little game! ^-^
Outstanding art, style and charm! This is a very unique and memorable game. Really impressive and looking forward to seeing your future games!
Love the art and Hawk is super cute.
Very unique and clever puzzles.
If only my first game jam game could have been that nice aha!
Only one advice: try to integrate (if you find the time) your tutorial to the game, it helps the player a lot a lot.
For the rest, it's fun. A bit confusing at first, but it's very interesting to try different things to lit up those eyes and open new paths!
Really nice little game. I would love to see more levels and new mechanics!
Good job with this! I had fun going through the puzzles. I only wish I could have seen what was at the end or see if the bat ever escaped.
It is a very original idea, the art is very good. I also like the lo fi music on the title screen!
Interesting concept! The movement feels great and the puzzles are well done. An eye-opening experience!
