What do you like about your game?
I love the concept quite a bit, it fits the idea of aberration by going against what in this case is morally correct and acceptable, which is not shooting and killing plant people and polluting the environment lol. But I loved the idea of a mashup of 2 genres (FPS and Tower Defense), I think it turned out pretty good too!

Honestly, the most enjoyable game I've played so far. Normally I play these game jam games pretty short as they are usually boring but this one truly kept me hooked with its FPS tower defense gameplay and its pleasant visuals. 10/10

Very nice take on the tower defence genre. Well done!

i'm both quite a big fps fan and tower defense fan, so i really liked this one, especially with the whole obviously evil angle that you play in the game. my only real critique is that i wish the scrap had some sort of sprite that wasn't just a gray square, and the functions of the towers other than the turrets wasn't all too clear. endless mode would've been awesome too, and i have to wonder about what this game would be from the plant people's perspective. would that've been like a weird rts? maybe something to consider for a future project even. anyways, awesome game, i really enjoyed my time with it.

Great game you made here.
A lot of depth and a lot of depth with upgrades and more.
Would have loved to see an endless mode.

Controls could have been more refined bla bla bla. But that is just nit picking :D
Gameplay was top notch!

Very nice art style and presentation. I usually don't enjoy playing these types of games but I had a good time with this one

This made me miss Dungeon Defenders very much. There are so many fun ways to win this game by focusing on different types of upgrades and abusing certain interactions! There are also a ton of fun cheese strats and glitches I discovered that made the game very replayable. If this game were developed further into a standalone release, it's the type of thing I would document in threads and video showcases.

That being said, while I spent a lot more time on this and had way more fun compared to other entries, I think the relationship to the theme could have been more developed.

Here is in-universe proof of how much I enjoyed messing with the game

Developer(+1)

Oh my god thats the funniest thing I've seen done in the game lol. I'm glad you enjoyed the game, and I agree the theme could've been developed better lol

Strong entry, I made it to wave 17... As a big tower defense fan, I use a lot the first turret massively (it ended up lagging my humble PC ^^)

With all these upgrades and so on, it's really dense for a jam game! Well done!

Nice idea, can be interesting with some additions

I didn’t quite understand the goal of the game, but I did have a lot of fun building turrets and upgrading stuff.

It would be cool to have a general upgrade for the turrets instead of individual ones since you end up with a lot of them.”

I really liked the concept, but I see lots of areas for improvement. More work on the world, the jump is just a bit to floaty, and when you look around you spin just a little bit to fast. Otherwise great game!

Highest I could go lol

Presentation was solid all around. Sound effects were great, though I wish there was music. Not really an issue though.

I think the level was pretty well designed. Had some good choke points for enemies and a few ways for me to navigate around it. And seeing armies of enemies in a game like definitely hits different when it's in first person lol.

I'm somewhat torn about the player's gun though. I think it having the ui for the player's stats is pretty clean, and the animations are cool. However, I think the screenshake is a little too much to the point that it got somewhat disorientating after a while.

I realise that you probably wanted the gun to have as much kick as possible when firing, but it felt like a little too much to the point that it hampered the readability of the game. Mostly because I couldn't really differentiate between the screenshake of firing the gun, and the screenshake caused when the player gets damaged. Maybe having some other visual indicator as well for when you get hit would help.

I also feel like the enemy bullets could've been a little more readable as well, because most of the time I couldn't really see them. This might just be a skill issue on my part and focussing more on trying to shoot as many enemies as possible lol.

Also I'm still not sure how to actually use the 2nd and 3rd buildings. Do you have to plant them and then stay in place with them ? I was confused lol. But maybe take this with a grain of salt since I'm pig-headed.

Otherwise, this was a pretty fun game all things considered. Great job on this

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The 2nd and 3rd buildings require you to click another building to attach it after placing it, since they act as like a buff. I was short for time on the tutorial considering 2 finals so I couldn't explain it very well, but the basic rundown of them is the overclocker when attached to another building makes it considerably faster at a cost of less HP. The cooler is a basic healer, when attached providing +1 HP per second. Thank you for the feedback though, I really appreciate it!

Developer

I also wanna mention something for anyone who reads through these comments, the overclocker has a ton of hidden stuff to it and its extremely easy to abuse. If you figure out some of the easy ways to abuse it the game becomes wayyyy easier lol

Dude, I mean this when I say that I LOVE the gameplay. This is the first time I've seen a tower defense game of this style, and I love the feeling of shooting your weapons. It is incredibly charming to the point where, if this were a fully polished game with these mechanics, I would pay to play it. The only thing that knocks this day a bit is the amount of bugs, but that's to be expected given the short development time.

The greatest compliment I can give is that I WANT MORE!!! (once it's polished up a bit bug wise but still)

Wishing you luck in the jam!

This game is ridiculous in a great way! I did not encounter any bugs on my end, which was great, and the art is also fun, consistently fun, and it's all well done! That said, though, It might be how I played, but the difficulty curve was... strange. It started off simple and easy enough, and although I was stingy with using scrap, I stayed above 90 hp for the first five or so rounds. I only really needed to use the player's pistol to eliminate most, if not all of the enemies. then once the purple dudes and the strawberry guys appeared, I died. It went from me having ~90 hp to 33 hp one round, then to 0 the next one. I was stingy on scrap, but this is also probably a skill issue, although it spiked hard, so I'm curious if other people had issues too. Overall, this was quite an enjoyable experience, the gameplay felt fresh and the movement felt... right, for a lack of a better word. Nice work!

Cool game, kind of reminds me of CoD zombies. Was I supposed to be able to see how much health I had? It seemed like I randomly took damage, not sure if that was  an enemy attacking me or what.

Also in the tutorial I ended up not having enough scrap to afford  a turret at the end, which made for a lot of clicking. It wasn't clear that destroying one of my towers would not refund me any money

Really liked the mashup of 3d and pixelart, but what I can say I liked the most was the gameplay. Two ideas who aren't usually mashed together merged well, good job with the execution but it lacks some polishing on the fps part, since you can upgrade your turrets, but not yourself. But, considering the time constraints, it is reasonable that you focused more on one aspect than the other.

Developer

Did you see the arcade machine that's next to the pollution generator? Cause that allows you to upgrade yourself and your gun haha!

Developer

I should probably put it in a more obvious spot and put some more stuff around it to make it pop out lol.
