- WARNING: audio loud initially. Visually very very well executed, mechanically its pretty ho-hu,
- Visuals and gameplay polish are fantastic, great job at making what feels like a fully fleshed out game. The audio was a tad grating and controls a little clunky.
What do you like about your game?
The Mechanics, I Ithink they could be expanded in to a full game

Great Game! It has a really nice style too it. I really liked using the enemy bullets to get my lives back. The music and sound effects were very nice as well.
The final boss really must have hated the floor by the end lol.
Thanks for playing and Im very glad that you enjoyed the game and understanded the concept (and used the aberrated bullets to replenish your lives)
Absolutely fantastic game! The visuals are amazing, no clue how you did that in two weeks. Level design and mechanics are super creative. I died a lot, but I think its mostly my fault for not paying attention to the way the game teaches gameplay mechanics. Its clever, but maybe it doesn't let players process the information being conveyed. The blue spikes, for example, were taught by the fact that you trampolined into them by necessity, but my stupid brain thought that I didn't even hit those spikes, so I didn't really realize that they are safe until it was too late. Same with the red floor. I thought that the enemies that died to the red floor were more to do with the button I just pressed rather than the floor being red. I still think these were extremely clever though. The music was awesome and gave off a teenage mutant ninja turtles style, and the 'virtual' joke complimented that style very well. I love the fact that there are multiple control schemes and they are taught in a non-obstructive way.
Thanks for playing! glad you enjoyed the game
The presentation of the game is amazing, however the execution of the idea could be better. The virtual aberrator is quite original but it has a lot of problems. Most of it come to the design of the levels, like how you end up jumping into the ceiling while is red or fall into a pit that kills you. Or simply how you just forget that you are standing on the blue floor and end up dying. The mapping of the keys on keyboard makes the issue worse. You are trying to understand the controls and the game usually asks for fast reaction times, which is hard to do with the unusual keys. Also, the enemies shoot the instant they see you and there's little time to dodge or react.
Still, the game is very charming and has a lot of potential!
You can also use a gamepad. What keys would be better?
I think you could jump with the up key (w/up arrow) and have the shoot and the hability next to each other. Maybe H and J.
You kinda have those options
This is a decent little platformer-shooter game, although it's got a few technical quirks. Shooting with CTRL and H feels rather unnatural. I also think the trial and error part of this game doesn't match up too well with what you're trying to go for.
Thanks for Playing!
Waaaaay to challenging for my skill lvl, but still fun. I managed to complete it even thou my palms were sweaty. I died alot. Super fun tho. Would love to play it with different key settings :D
10/10 for the aesthetics.
Thanks for playing
Loved it! Completed the game. Not without dying and restarting:) Love the sounds, controls feel good too.
Thanks for playing!
nice game, cool audio-visually, tho the theme of the jam does not seem very strong here
Thanks for playing, the theme was in (or at least I try to put in in the game with..) the aberration of the normal conventions of gameplay, for example the floor that is usually safe, while using the aberrator devices kills you, the spikes, that are always a harm, while aberrating the game are safe, the bullets while the world is “aberrated” instead of killing you refill your lives.
Pretty clever idea and setting. I really liked the visuals and the sound that the was chosen for this game jam. Reminds me of old 64 bit games you may find in arcades. 10/10
Thanks, that was the Idea, did you understand the Virtual Aberrator mechanic?
My keyboard needs new batteries, which caused my inputs to lag too much for me to time everything correctly. I understood the mechanism perfectly fine, but at first I didn't think I could turn it off manually. I never got stuck, but I could not complete the game because of the keyboard.
Very nice artstyle and controls feel very appropriate for a game like this (really liked that you added wall jump and jump height based on length of button press). The flip mechanic is very creatively executed and adds tremendously to what the player can do. I was wishing that I could shoot with the mouse cause I always like to keep my right hand there lol but thats just me. Great work all around!
I like the visuals and the sfx, the kind of dissolve effect on the sprite look cool. Although, I'm not a fan of the life system that makes you start again from the beginning. I also didn't understand why pressing K just kills me.
If you want to give the game another chance; The Virtual aberrator flips the world’s properties. Floors become deadly, spikes turn safe, and bullets heal you, Etc.
Oh, that makes more sense now! By reflex, as I saw the energy bar drain, I tried to move as quickly as possible and inevitably hit something that was going to kill me.
The presentation and style of this game is quite good, my only critique is that sometimes it feels like the background and platforms mesh together considering they're the same colors, but thats probably just a me thing lol. Very fun and cool idea, well done!
running it on VIRTUAL machine :)
Fantastic work of art. I liked graphics, music and gameplay. Be proud of yourself.
Thanks!

The presentation is really good! I love the pixelation / dither effect you use for screen transitions. The game's difficulty was solid. There was the occasional bug like one time I un-virtualized those disappearing platforms to get onto it but for some reason the character wasnt detecting ground or one time when I died and the game respawned me but the camera didnt move with me.
Those few bugs aside the mechanics were well executed! It was a pretty good game
Thanks, I consider your game one of the best ones on this jam
Just love how everything is labeled as "virtual", got a chuckle out of me while playing it lol
I do like the presentation quite a bit, though I had some trouble accidentally running into enemy fire with no time to react just by walking around the level at some points, it was still an enjoyable game with a clear sense of style

The vibe of the game is great, feels like a browser game from mid 2000s so a bit of nostalgia

Love the artstyle, these vector-style graphics really fit the game. Looks really polished with the animations and transition effects. Good job!

Good stuff! The mechanics were pretty well utilized and I liked the boss fight. Also a pretty funny game, great job.
