What do you like about your game?
The character controller is something I feel pretty proud of, it just feels good (to me at least)

Hi, just finished checking out your game :3. The idea of switching the movement keys is really cool and original, and adds some big depth to the gameplay. The movement is really responsive and "tight" in a way, so it feels really good to control, which is very important in this type of games. I think the minimalistic style of the game fits very well, as it is more focused on the mechanics. It's quite a challenge to switch keys every time, but it keeps the player engaged until the end in my opinion. Overall a really solid work, I also liked the sound design a lot on this. Very enjoyable and entertaining game, keep it up and good luck with it! <333

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it, especially the character controller's responsiveness, is was actually one of my biggest concerns when making the game!

I feel you, the character controller it's always the hardest thing to get working right and smooth. You did it great <33

really clean art style!

good use of shadows and lights. such a simple idea too!

Thanks for playing!

That was actually pretty fun!

The last level is very luck-based. The first time, the randomized key really felt impossible to use so I had to restart. But since I got used to the previous levels, I could speedrun through the game :)

Developer

Thanks for playing, I'm happy to hear that you liked it! I see you got pretty used to the aberration, congrats for being the fastest one to complete all levels! (at this point I said it every time someone sent the "congratulations!" screen hahaha).

gaming :^)

i had no idea the last level was completely randomized! my left was E, right D, jump Y, dash I, and up freaking Enter of all things.

The color and music switching took me by complete surprise, which I liked. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Also congrats on being (as far as I know) the fastest one to complete it! Also I'm happy to hear that you liked the color and music change, that are of course, aberrations. I even had weirder ideas but sadly I didn't have enough time for them. And btw you were lucky in the last level, having the left/right buttons close is like a blessing compared to what it could be lol.

Really nice! Idea is interesting and player character feels smooth, good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

oh, that was a *hardcore* platformer!
movement feels responsive and good; had a little problem with making diagonal dash, especially when key combinations got more complicated, but that's just me probably lol

Developer

Thanks for playing! The diagonal dash "bug" is something i've seen several times throughout testing the game in different keyboard and from feedback from different people, I'm not sure if it is what I think it is, but in doubt you can check at the end of the game page where I added a little warning about "keyboard ghosting"

Nice concept! Even nicer implementation :D Good job.

Thanks for playing! Glad you like it!

brutal finger-Twister! it became really tricky to keep track of everything as the key assignments became more obscure, and on top of that, the execution required in the later levels makes for a really punishing platformer. my main suggestion is that the restart/next level buttons shouldn’t require me to move my hands off the keyboard, as it really breaks my flow. love the idea, it just needs some QoL!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for giving suggestions! I'm surely gonna update the game to remove that button, I just wanted to get it to work quickly but never had time to polish it you know

The movement felt good (with normal WASD/arrow keys lol), and the visuals, though simple, are polished (the little squash and stretch with the cube feels very good). I found the levels to be a bit too frustrating with the weird control schemes (and it might feel a bit more forgiving if the hurtboxes on the blades were a bit smaller than the sprites), but that might just be personal taste because I suck at platformers :P

Developer

Thanks for playing my game! I'm glad you felt the character controller and the graphics satisfying (at least with normal controls lol) but I'm sorry you found the levels frustrating, I honestly don't know how to make it feel less frustrating (except for the hotboxes, I'll definitely make them smaller), probably because at the end it's just a byproduct of changing something we're all so used to, it becomes frustrating to get used to it again and again, I just had to do it in order to make something aberrant. I'm also pretty sure some people will find this all more interesting.

Quite a fun concept, although I fear I'm not quite hardcore enough to deal with sideways keyboard controls XD

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you liked my idea! Also don't worry, you're not the only one dropping it haha

I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH!1!11! the concept is so cool, it plays with the platformer genre so well. i was banging my head to the music too! the simple style is on point, it reminds me a geometry dash one. i would also add a hardmode or something where each of your attempts have completely random controls. very good game, want more, fantastic work!

Developer

Thank you for playing my game! I'm honestly amazed by your excitement, I'm glad you found something interesting in it, and I hope I can bring more of it in the future, you know, that "want more" is interesting considering the things I scrapped while making it. And fun fact: the initial idea was to have EVERY level with random controls but I realized it would be too difficult so I just made the last one random, but an hard mode doesn't sound bad I guess.
As for the music, you should thank Amaryllis for that.

That said, congrats on being (as far as I know) the second one to actually beat the game and the first in the leaderboard!

The character feels nice and it looks good

The controls really make it difficult to play tho, and a bit too much for me (can't turn the keyboard of laptops as you suggested me, might be a reason why)

Developer(+1)

As hard as it should be I guess

Nice rage game haha

Submitted(+1)

It was challenging! really cool concept too. One thing I would want is to bind the restart button to the space key or something, it gets frustrating when I get to hit to mouse click every time I die. Cool game, good job ^_^

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing my game, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Also congrats on being the first one to actually finish it! Also It's almost funny how I was concerned about not having enough playtime when I playtested it haha, now it's almost a bit too much.

As for the restart button, you're right, I will probably update it when the time comes. I just didn't think about it too much when making it and had no time left to change it.

Submitted(+1)

I know it :D it seems too easy for the developer because you are constantly playtesting it :D I haven't felt like I played that too long but RGFV section was a bit too hard.

Developer(+1)

Well that's exactly how it's supposed to be

Submitted(+1)

this is cool but i cant really play cause some parts are made nearly impossible because of keyboard ghosting

Developer

I'm sorry for that, I didn't have such problems when testing it, but I still wouldn't know how to fix it (probably because it's more of a hardware problem)

Submitted(+1)

Very fun and challenging platformer! I like the squash and stretch on the player. It adds a lot of feel. Also the soundtrack is great.

Developer

Thanks you! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and if you like the soundtrack you should also take a look at what else Amaryllis may have in store for you
