What do you like about your game?
I did everything from scratch for this jam, music, art, code, etc (except for fonts and some sfx) and it turned out to be a fairly complete game, that was quite an accomplishment for 2 weeks of nighttime coding

I kept trying to press E on the password keypad, it took me a while to figure out it is left click instead.
The game is good, I prefere longer games.
When it comes to style my only critique would be the black vignette. Maybe it would look better with some alpha transparency? I have PTSD from non-transparent overlays ever since I equipped minecraft pumpkin on my head for the first time.
I had a hard time with the puzzles but I must say I loved the whole espionage vibe and the level of polish. The soundtrack is so smooth too I kinda want it on spotify or youtube so I can keep listening to it!
Great work :)
Really impressive that you did everything in the game yourself. The most satisfying thing to figure out for me was the 6 digit combination, that whole sequence was just done well. The PC logging part was pretty cool too. Lots of nice little things in this game. Well done on this!
I kept getting stuck on either crashes or not responsive puzzles (whatever the solution is for the first code) but it seems interesting! Might just be unity web glitching out, it is notorious
Graphics are simple but nice and original for this jam
The game feels polished
The answer to some puzzles might be a little too "hard"/"random", but the tips help, and I definitely like the text at the top left for little me that doesn't have any memory
The story is nice and goes well with the game, and even the choice for the graphics (preventing it being "gore")
Would have liked the npcs to say something else than "Don't have time to talk to you" when the quest is to talk to one ; maybe putting random dialogues shared among npcs?
Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for playing through it in your stream! Completely agree with everything you said, having shared dialogs is a great idea
Best game ever wow. The puzzles are incredible, the story is amazing, the art is pretty cool. And the music, mama mia. I'm amazed you did all that in just two weeks. Really well done!
Thanks so much for the compliments, I'm thrilled you enjoyed it!
very nice game! Im not good for puzzle games, but this one looks so pretty. Good work!
Thanks for playing through it!
Wow, it's cool to see so much variation in the puzzles considering this was done in 2 weeks. My favorite puzzle was breaking the ciphered message in the journal by extracting English structure from the text, very fun. I admit I had to use the guide to complete it, so maybe some extra hints in the game would help, especially numbering the lockers and hinting more about passwords, but I'm glad you wrote it up so I could experience the whole thing!
Thanks for playing it all the way through! I think this definitely lacked from external playtesting to get a better sense of what needed more hinting, getting that aha moment from players is always a tricky balance between being completely obvious and plain too hard.
Cool that you did all the assets yourself!
Thanks much appreciated!
impressive, quite a big game to have made in just 2 weeks.
i wasn't able to complete all of it though
Thanks for trying! There's a walkthrough guide in the description if you are interested in completing it!
This game is great, it screams that a programmer made it (or a disgruntled IT person).
Art is awesome and the telegraphing on all the puzzles is all super intuitive to solve quickly/reasonably using deduction (only confusing thing was the term "tally", but i guess it can be deduced; although my paranoid mind probably would think i just miscounted or should be taking sum total. tbh it might just be a me problem). The cipher live-replacement was especially cool to see.
I liked the plot and all the flavour dialogue, it gave the world a lot of life. Time loop stuff usually only has a couple of expected outcomes. It is good that it was comprehensible though (versus all the insane incomprehensible impossible time loop plots)
The music is absolutely incredible, seriously gotta get released as its own track. Absolutely monster synths.
Congrats on the release
Thanks so much for the fantastic review and for going through the entire game, I think for a puzzle-detective game I seriously lacked in playtesting with other folks to adjust the quality of the puzzles. It's so hard to aim for that aha moment without being obvious or completely obnoxious.
thanks also for the compliment on the music, few people notice it's handmade for the jam, but it did take some time to put together :)
I finished the game! I had to use the walkthrough a few times, in my opinion there's a decent number of clarity issues ingame but it was pretty fun nonetheless.
Positives:
I like the voxel art style, it's pretty cute. The sound and general atmosphere is nice. I really liked the letter puzzles, those were really clever and felt good to complete. The ending is pretty interesting.
Negatives:
I think it's ok to not specify which bathroom to go to, but to do so at the start of the game is a bit jarring. When the game tells you to go to a specific locker, I was never able to figure out which one at first (why is the first locker the last one in the back?) I do like the puzzle with the scale, but it wasn't clear to me that it was actually a drawing of a scale so I had to look at the guide. I know one person says what the default password is but I think it could have been more clear that the librarian is using that password.
Even though it's a puzzle game where you have to figure stuff out, I think it's important to make some things more obvious for the player to be on the right track. I don't mean to rag on you or diminish what you've accomplished, I just think it's important to keep this game design stuff in mind. I also don't play these kinds of games too often so it could also partially be a skill issue.
Thanks so much for such a detailed review, and I completely agree with all your concerns. I wish I had had more time to do some external playtesting, I think most people faced the same problem that you did, and it would have been easy to course-correct those details and not make it a frustrating experience while still keeping it interesting. Thanks again for playing through the entire game!
I'm sorry, I only played up to the bathroom stalls because I didn't know what to do... I also got stuck on the toilet for like a minute before figuring out you have to interact with the toilet paper to get up. The environment and characters seem pretty well designed though. I also like the sound design and music.
so sorry you got stuck, for some reason the walkthrough guide got deleted when I edited the game description. I've added it again, hopefully that helps unblock you!
It was neat. I like these small puzzle games.

That was awesome, eventhough i got stuck for 15 mins on the man's toilet trying to find something, only to discover the female one. I got stuck again on the orange, green puzzle. I think my brain is mush. I would love to play it again, i can't see the walkthrough spoiler for some reason. A very well made game and highly polished with an interesting story. I am very impressed. I'll play again.

First of all, I would like to report the all the people who softlocked me by asking me "Whats on your mind", causing me to restart the game multiple times to mars. Anyways I love your pixel art AND voxel art AND the map, really makes the game feel good. Good job! :) edit: and the story too
Oh no! That's my bad, I think it's just very non-intuitive that you have to use the number keys to pick your dialog choice, and sometimes there's only one option, type "1" on your keyboard to have your character say the option 1
When there are multiple options, you can type the appropriate key to pick a different option
Sorry I shoudl have playtested this a bit more, hopefully that gets you unblocked to progress further!
Since now I have gained superpowers from you I can help the TTA, and I like how oh so secure the computers are! You gotta be the Flash to not let anyone see it! Anyways I made it to the tally red green blue part before not knowing what to do. The game is really interesting
haha :) some of those puzzles could definitely be better! there's a walkthrough guide below the game to get you unstuck :)
Guess I dum about what to do, great game afterall, good job! I can tell lots of work has been put into this
This is a really nice game. I was planning to play more than one game today but your game kept me playing for a long time now. Really nice work and great story. The game kind of reminds me on The Stanley Parable at the end.
thank you so much for playing it all the way through! Stanley parable is one of my all time favorite games :) Originally, I had planned for the player to go through the loop several times and allow them to change choices to alter the future, which would have made it resemble SP even more, but I ran out of time...
Fantastic game - I really enjoyed it. Spent way too long on it! But in a good way...
The only points I'd make is that it didn't really fit the theme much and it would've been great to have the left mouse button as the interaction button instead of 'E'.
Great job - loved playing it and was very well made.
Thanks so much for playing it and for the great feedback!
Great game, really fun! I spent a lot of time on it.
I wasn't able to figure out the password for Lucy Miller. I tried using the year, the year -1, the year +1, "password" + year, etc. (Help)
I also couldn't figure out the password for Stan Jones. I tried using his title + the year, etc. (Help part 2)
Great idea overall! You should consider making a full game with the same premise.
Sadly, I do feel that the game doesn't quite fit the theme of the jam, but it still deserves 5 stars!
Thanks so much for playing through most of it! I added a walkthrough section to help the player understand both what is happening and how to complete the game. I think it will also help understand how the game fits the theme! (aka the player, trying to stop a time travel experiment, is actually already in the time loop, and only ends up triggering the time loop rather than stopping it throughout the gameplay)
Wow, what a game! I had a great time, playing it. Awesome work! Not only it is huge, it is also fun as hell.
A few suggestions. Mark the lockers with numbers after the jam ends. And in different countries data format is varies, so... you know)) Used your git to get past that one đ
Overall great job!
Try the game "Chants of Sennaar" on Steam. I think, you'll like it)
Thanks for playing through it! I'll definitely give Chants of Sennaar a go!
Great feedback on the country format, this is where I shoudl have gotten more playtesting :)
And one more thing. The sound of explosion you used I have in my game as well. And it is licensed as attribution-4.0-non-commectial. You might wanna add a reference to in on a game page to adhere jam rules)
oh wow good catch, I just hoped over to freesounds and most of my sfx from there, assuming they were fine to use. I didn't credit each of them individually in-game but should probably do that, similar to what I did for fonts
