Brilliant! I loved the art and the sound. The story was very well written, with cool characters and fun puzzles. The difficulty was perfect and I had a great time with the game. Super nice work! Also, that time portal animation was awesome.

Developer

Thank you, I'm very happy to real all of this :)

Glad you like the time portal animation, it's one of the few things I did on the art side :D

Nice one Yann! Loved the time travel concepts, always fun, and Marilou's art is amaaazing!! Really lovely all round :D

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks Dave, I really appreciate it. Same, I love time travel concepts, it has been a very long time that I wanted to make one... And here it is :)

I'll share your kind words with Marilou !

That was really great! The art is beautiful and fun (Jay Jay standing on one leg is perfect), and I love a good time loop. You left me wanting more. I definitely need to check out Inspector Waffles!

Developer(+1)

It seems that we'll do a spin-off with Jay-Jay then :)

Thank you for your kind words, glad to see that you like our game! :)

The art and the sheer amount of detail to objects is spectacular! It made the environment feel so real. I always enjoy a time loop done well and this was definitely done well. A bit short so I hope to see this game continued. The puzzles were logical and I wasn't stuck anywhere except in the beginning.

I know you'd think that only an idiot would forget the two things you have to get in the beginning to fix the machine but I was that idiot. Was a bit distracted then and missed the part where he tells me what to get and then didn't know what to do at all. Maybe making him repeat that line when you click on him or the machine would make it easier.

Once I restarted though everything flowed really well. I also appreciate the outline of important objects - normally I would enjoy exploring everything on my own but with the time limit I think it was a good idea.

Overall, a very polished and enjoyable entry!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your long feedback, I appreciate it! Glad you like the look of it :)

Yes, we'll do more signpostings in the future version, you aren't the only one to tell us and it's a valid idea. We'll improve that soon.

Thanks again!

Time well spent playing this game, thank you i really enjoyed it.  I love the background art, unfortunately it made it easier to see the items i could collect, Really nice use of the time travel mechanic and a very nice neat story. Well made and polished game.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :)

Yes, we are going to add a easy/hard mode, and hotspots will be harder to find, I didn't have the time to implement it. Thanks for your feedback! :)

Beautifull!

I love the art style, the time loop mechanic, and the characters are very interesting. And I would love to play more!

Only thing that caught me of guard was intro scene, the dialogue went by relatively quickly, and I didn't get to read everything...

Developer(+1)

Thank you ! :)

We want to continue the game, so I hope you'll be able to play more of it someday! :)

And that's an interesting feedback, I thought I let enough time for players to read the cutscene story, I guess I was wrong. We'll fix that!

Submitted(+1)

Your dialogue is great and your background art is gorgeous. Using most of the same inventory items in the opening scene and in the time loop sequences was a nice touch. I used to love it in adventure games where inventory pieces would be used multiple times, but here it's done in a way that ties excellently into the time traveling narrative. Very cool!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your kind message :)

Yes, thanks to the loops, you can reuse items infinitely, and that's the main feature we wanted to make in this game. Glad you saw that in it! When the game will get bigger, we believe that would be a really cool way to enjoy the game :)

Submitted(+1)

Yes, got a chance to play it!

Your loop mechanic is very cool, and probably a lot less frustrating than ours if you don't know what's going on. I really liked that the first loop was super short so that you could sell the idea of the time loop without there being too much at stake. The dialogue that coaches you through it is super helpful.

Lovely art, lovely idea, and a great start if you do decide to develop it further. Thanks for sharing!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed our game, thank you! :)

We'd like to continue the game, yes. Hope we'll be able to do it! :)

I wish I could draw backgrounds like that. Fun little game, I liked the characters and the timer mechanics - I just wish there was more to it :)

If I *must* have one complaint, the outlined clickables broke the immersion a bit. I know it's probably by design given the mess JayJay lives in, but since I'm the kind of player who is going to click all hotspots anyway, I found them distracting :D I would have found the objects eventually!

Developer(+1)

Thanks Guga, really happy to read that :)

Just to let your know, I think the outline will be set as an easy/hard mode in the future. I didn't have the time to code it properly during the jam, but that's a feature I want to add. I know hardcore p&c players won't like to play with them :)

Submitted(+1)

This is terrific. The art is just stunning, the characters are fun. I especially love JayJay. I was a little worried about the time limit at first, but luckily it's not a problem, even for leisurely players like me. Can't wait for future time travels shenanigans.

P.S.: I really want my own anti-paradox box now. That thing sounds handy. :)

Developer

Very happy to hear, thanks :) Yes, you have plenty of time to solve the puzzles :)

I'm going to make my own anti-paradox boxes then, I'm sure there is a market for it ;)

This was fun! Outstandig graphics, I would love to see a full game (next Inspector Waffles?) in this look! (but I'll take an extended version of pixel's time paradox as well. ^^) Please continue this game!!!
(and I knew microwaves were always useful...)

Developer

Happy to hear, glad you like the look of it :)

Yes, we are all motivated to continue the game :)

What stands out here is the beautiful handdrawn backgrounds and the time-loop narrative. The last puzzle seemed a little bit contrived but the solid writing and the fitting music made more than up for it. I hope to see how this conundrum can be resolved in the future!

Developer(+1)

Thanks Gregor, glad you like it overall! :)

About the last puzzle, we'll help players to understand it easily in a future build, when the jam will be over. We think it's a cool puzzle but which needs improvements.

I also played your game  today, I'll share a review really soon! :)

I loved it! Really want to see how the story continues. It could become a nice spin-off title for the main IW universe, a worth addition indeed.

Developer(+1)

Thanks Steven, glad to hear! We hope to continue it, well at least I partiarly wrote the rest of the story :)

Cool short game! I've enjoyed it! :)

Thank you, very happy to hear! :)

Wow - wonderful game - only too short for how beautiful it is :-) - congratulations :-)

Developer(+1)

Thanks Marco! :) Really glad that  you like it!

I was sad when it abruptly ended. I wanted to keep playing and see what happens. A few  confusing things at times (like that he keeps saying he wants to take the microwave cord before he travels in time but won't take it), but great art and engaging story.

Developer

Glad you like the art and story, Vance :) We hope to continue the story later in the future.

Thanks for your feedback!

Absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to see where this goes!

(Also I highly approve of your team logo)

Developer

Thanks, hope we'll do more of it! :)

And glad you like our beautiful pizza :)

Developer

Thanks a lot, happy to hear :)

Awwww, this was really cute! I watched you post art updates in Discord and was really excited to check the game out! I grabbed the walkthrough just to be able to play through quickly (I have prior engagements today, I'm afraid) but I really enjoyed every moment of this! It was funny, it was clever, the art is fantastic and I got a great vibe overall! Pixel is a good kitty and I'm looking forward to seeing more of his adventures! :)

I'd appreciate it if you could find the time to check out my own entry, The Chronicles of Mega-Mart! There's no time travel, but there IS a baby in a shopping cart! :)
