This game is  above criticism.  The car has comedically poor handling, the bed of the truck is hilariously low, the art style is SOUL to the max.  It's all there.  It's perfect.  It's the most faithful portrayal of Australia in any form of media including Mad Max.

Here's the video of my playthrough.  I hope it helps:

I think the graphics of this game are shit, but I also really like that it's shit. I can see you're going for the deliberately jank kinda game akin to My Summer Car. That said, the walking is very slow, the truck doesn't control well at all. It either doesn't turn at all or goes full fucking tilt. And colliding with things I'm carrying is annoying. I also noticed that things floated towards a point where you were holding them instead of just holding them, I had a similar issue with a game jam game I made a while back, I suggest just making a point attached to the player and making the object you're picking up a child of that point.

Keep at it, games like this definitely have their charm.

all my FUCKIN ICE FELL OFF

all things considered it was a pretty fun game altho grabbing things and putting them on the car feels a bit jank

havent found any big issues, just a couple of minor stuff

-some guy in tambo had the same dialogue as the ladder guy on the next city
-moving diagonally seems to make u faster

Random thoughts as I'm playing:

Not a fan of the colliders being active on picked up objects.

Enter to advance dialogue's a bit odd, making it able to be clicked through (or e, since that's the interact button) as well would be nice.

Like the silly animation that plays when entering a new decrepit australian shithole, but it occludes the crosshair. Moving it up a bit might work, or turning off the crosshair while the animation is active.

Turning controls on the ute are... bad. Not in a fun way bad. Like the level of interaction on the car.

After taking on a delivery task it'd be nice if the post-accept dialogue references where I need to go.

i plan to keep colliders on to avoid physics issues, but it definitely needs tweaking cause it makes movement annoying. The dialogue thing is just a placeholder cause I had an update timing thing where when I bound it to E you got softlocked in convo and I just did the hack fix of swapping input until I have time to fix it.

Thanks for the feedback. The ute controls are fine that's just a skill issue ;)

You don't have to turn them off but consider (if you still have the layers for it) having the player controller on its own collider layer and having a collision layer that doesn't collide with that layer (you can set this up in the Unity physics matrix). When you pick up an object shift it over to that player-collideless layer, then shift it back when you set it down. That'll keep the physics but you won't end up with issues.

Nice.

The picked objects pushing back against you was a little annoying, but overall it was a fun game, I finished the whole checklist

Seconding the objects still having colliders being annoying. Maybe do something with collision layers that temporarily change when an object's picked up. Should be simple enough. Otherwise fun.

This game is legitimately interesting. But holy shit did it bug me as I tried to play it. The sound design and the weird physics when you pick stuff up made it not fun. It is interesting, but I did not have fun.

The most accurate Australia simulator I've ever played, bloody well done.

Also managed to drive to New Zealand and was not disappointed.

close but that's antarctica lmao, nice work finding the easter egg

I like the DOOM like sprites and yeah the web version physics is bad. Needs a shotgun, some sound effects and a but more. Add some extra features and you will be good.

I was going through the executable version of the game.

This was a pretty neat game going in. Kinda reminded me of My Summer Car but with more overbearing heat. It was fun and it feels like a game you can turn your brain off for.

The pickup's controls were a bit rough to start out, but I did start getting a handle on using it after a little bit. That being said, the handling never stopped feeling slippery and it sometimes felt like you couldn't ease back into driving straight.
It's cool that the steering wheel would do some of that work for you.

I think a throw function for throwing picked up items would help out a lot. I had to struggle to get some items all the way up and into the back of the truck.

left click throws objects but in hindsight I see I never documented that input... sorry about that

thanks for playing
