Has a lot of potencial. Feedback:

  • hitting the ball with the paddle could trigger something
  • merging the balls together could be optional and not auto-merged
  • the paddle could do something
  • shorter round duration at starter levels
  • balls are destroyed too easily, sometimes with only one hit
  • at the game's itch.io page you can check an option to be able to put the game in fullscreen

amxe - great stuff! i wasn't totally thinking of shorter rounds, but now that you say it it makes sense. we already started working on the next build - hope to  see you again

Pretty fun concept, although it felt like I couldn't lose at all (I didn't even understand if  I was taking damage) until at one random level I lost every ball. I feel like after tweaking some numbers and expanding the concept a bit further the game could be very fun.

thank you for your feedback Anter! we will work super hard on tweaking and expanding for upcoming builds!

The predator ball gets really satisfying with stacks at the end. Aside from wishing there was more control from catching balls or something I'd love to see some more feedback when a ball dies so I know exactly what killed it. Maybe some hit freeze and a flash effect could do the trick, I just got blindsided sometimes when multiple balls were killed while I was focused on somewhere else.

so glad you found love for the predator ball! we were super focused on building out the systems, but game juice that includes hit freeze and flash effect that you mentioned will be worked on for upcoming future. thank you :)

This games crazy. Me personally, I just love bouncing balls against walls in games. I loved this game, it was super chaotic but after I couple levels I was like "oooohhhh" and started understanding  what was going on and the strategy. It kinda felt like pokemon or smthn.

Developer(+1)

hahah thank you! being compared to pokemon is actually mindblowing to us XDDD

all my balls died :(

There are a couple of things I don't understand: I bought an item called Midnight Oil, but I wasn't sure how to use it. I didn't see anything in the "How to play" screen about items. It also doesn't appear that missing a ball with a paddle and letting them hit the bottom of the screen does anything, which kind of defeats the entire purpose. I'm sure I'm just missing something.

I love the VHS art style. It's fun!

thank you for playing <3 both working on the paddle and making the game more clear is on our roadmap after the prototype!

It's a cute game. It's breakout but with enemies being spammed. I think a good amount of skill is removed when they can bounce off the ground area instead of needing the paddle to save it every time it gets near the end. If you want more skill, it requires a lot more choices involved with the gameplay, even if slight. There is no control over the direction due to how it moves like breakout as much. There are a lot of arcade games like this that can grab the ball like in breakout but with the ability to aim and charge shots with a short timer to do so. It needs that extra level due to what was taken away from the gameplay from normal breakout.

Developer(+2)

thank you for your feedback!! we're adding more gameplay on our upcoming roadmap and we're aware of what other games have done :) hopefully you'll like our own twists to the genre when future builds are available :)

i feel like the difficulty skyrockets pretty quickly after a few levels, and not knowing where the next enemies spawn, your, uuuuh, balls are at the mercy of whatever enemies spawn next to them while they are far from the paddle.
like it doesn't actually feel like you are in control of how the level progresses, it feels very random

Developer(+2)

thanks for the feedback! that's something we hope to address in our future roadmap :)

Quite fun! The music is very nice, I left the title theme playing as I write this.

The game obviously needs a lot more different balls. I was enjoying the ones that exist, but it’s also a bit obvious with the upgrades (Midnight Oil only goes with the burning ones and so on), the mix&match aspect isn’t really there yet.

I was also unsure what the point is of hitting balls with my paddle. It seems if their ability is "exhausted" it refills, but if it’s not then it doesn’t refill. Anyhow the enemy layout isn’t really such that influencing direction of ball travel feels very meaningful, unlike normal Breakout, where you will often try to hit your ball into one specific angle to get into some opening in the wall and such. Here it’s just enemies being and appearing everywhere, so it doesn’t feel like it matters.

Shop system I didn’t fully understand, sometimes I could upgrade existing balls, sometimes I could not, and sometimes I could not even buy a ball even though I had enough money and an open slot.

Keep fleshing this out, it’s cool!!

So it's like Breakout meets Vampire Survivors? Really neat game, very addictive. None too big a fan of the theme music (buttrock isn't my thing) but that's a matter of personal tastes.

Developer(+2)

hahahah we didn't know it's called buttrock XD glad you enjoyed the game though!
