Killed by lack of coyote jump lol. Nah I'm terrible at platformers, but this one was good fun! Music was super chill and I liked the main mechanic of precision platformer music making. Plus, lots of content here! Good entry, nice job.

How does your game represent Mode?
My game represents 'Mode' by incorporating musical modes into both its gameplay and level design. Each zone features a different musical mode, like Dorian or Lydian, and the blocks that players jump on emit notes from these modes. The blocks must be hit in the correct sequence of notes to progress.

Charming 2d platformer with very pleasing sounds. Some jumps however are pretty annoying due to grounded detection being off, or colliding with edges.
Clever idea! The precision platforming is a bit much for me personally, but then again I'm bad at platforming :')
I like the idea combining the two genres together. Some QoL would be nice though. Having to listen only once and memorize is a bit much for my brain haha
Great work! I loved the sound design, especially the way the shadow guy talked. I liked the different music that reflected the different worlds and modes. Wonderful job on this!
the musical modes idea was really clever. it's also impressive how long this game is (given you made it in a week!)
if i HAD to say something about its flaws i'd probably target the controls- they're a little slippery on the ground and not fast enough in midair; and the jump is a fixed height (you can't fall faster by letting go of the button). and i think you made all the sounds as well?? those are a complete highlight. it feels really impactful to finish a section or jump on a platform (drums? spaceships? idk).
I feel like the character's jump isn't quite powerful enough for what he needs to do- but is also too powerful sometimes. Y'know?
Either way, fantastic job on this! the sound design is wonderful as are the graphics!
Awesome audiovisual expirience. The sound of it is just perfect. I got along the floaty jump but would have loved a bit more control while in air( as in some secondary move or double jump).
Great work!
Fun game! The audio is really good and I liked how you gave each zone a different music scale. Great entry!
This is a fun one! I've never played a platformer quite like this before. It reminds me a bit of Celeste or 1001 Spikes where you have to memorize a fairly specific movement pattern to get through a very tricky or time-sensitive area.
If you expand this idea after the jam, I bet you could add some really cool mechanics that let you use consumable items to hear the melody again, or maybe regain health if you reach difficult/secret areas. I'd also really enjoy playing an easy mode where I could hear the melody multiple times, or only need to go back one level if I lose all my health. Overall, great work on this jam entry!
The floaty controls made sense after I understood what I had to do, I had fun with the first world! I felt that that controls became harder to deal with once the time limit was introduced, though.
