really nice visuals. it seemed like I could only die by hitting the wall though. And it would be nice if the gun continuously fired if you hold space

This game looks insanely cool honestly, but the visuals specifically the explosions really cover up what is going on the screen. It may be better to have less enemies that are harder to defeat, since the large explosion effect does look great. I would also not tie shooting to pressing the spacebar rapidly, I think just holding down the button and having it shoot automatically would be better. I think in general the controls could be simplified, but I imagine they are more intuitive on a controller; the star fox layout makes much more sense on a controller. This is super cool for a jam entry but I think it just needs tweaking to make everything more clear and fine tined.
The game looks very cool. I love the visuals. This here is what I call juice! But the explosions sometimes cover the whole screen and the font used is a bit hard to read. Nice game!
Man, I love these types of games. From Starfox to the Gummi ship in Kingdom Hearts, they've always made me happy. I think you've got a great start to something, but my biggest issue is the readability of what is happening. The targeting UI around all the ships makes it difficult to see what you're actually aiming or dodging, and the explosions don't help with that. All in all with some visual adjustments, I think this could be an entertaining playthrough.
Music and sound effects are very fun and fit the theme! Definitely want to see more of this.
Loved the 3D! Flying through the tunnel felt very cool. Would maybe choose a font that's easier to read but overall nice work!
Conceptually, this game is really awesome. Reminds me of Omega Boost on the PS1 with you going down the chute and all. The button for the missiles seems oddly place though. I was using them all the time, but the movement controls block my right hand from mashing. I kinda wish that the missiles where the main method of attacking, as the pea shooter didn't feel all that good to use. Otherwise, great game and awesome explosion effects as well!
There's a foundation for something really cool here, but there's so much stuff going on that my eyes feel like they're set on fire. Music slaps though.
Very fun and well made - it's tough to actually get a game feeling this smooth in such a short amount of time. Main weapon should probably just be auto-firing or at least allow holding space. Maybe a bit much visual clutter? But that adds to the chaos, and you can actually play around the clouds blocking your vision which is a neat game mechanic.
The art is gorgeous, maybe the sounds could use some work (they are nice, just too loud or too quiet). As others said, no real reason to shoot cuz rockets, maybe it'd be more useful if it'd shoot on holding spacebar, rather than spamming.
There are definitely ways to keep the crazy overstimulation aesthetic and also make the game visually intelligible. Overall, pretty fun! (love the explosion vfx)
the game looks awesome and it plays nicely. definitely a bit overstimulating to the senses, but it's a great time! make sure to put those anime girls in >:3
Great stuff, I really like how this feels to just move around in. The art is also amazing.
Some feedback I have for you :
I think this would benefit from a way how far you are to completing it. I mentioned this in the stream but just to reiterate. Maybe instead of a timer it could use destroying targets as a completion condition also. That would encourage attacking enemies while also focus on dodging, just an idea tho.
Another thing is that there is not really a reason to use the normal shooting mechanic. If you just want to get rid of enemies quickly missiles are always the better option.
I like the idea of having to barrel roll to loose missiles. But the UI for those is pretty cluttered and it's hard to tell what's happening sometimes.
Hope that helps if you want to continue developing this .
Great game.
Very cool! It invokes the oldschool vector graphics games i used to play as a kid.
It's a little buys on screen but I got used to it after some time. I couldn't beat it tho the game is hard!
Very flashy and stylistic! Controls take some getting used to. Gotta say I’m nostalgic for these types of games.
Neat music and sound design, also very stylistic art! Gameplay has potential and is quite fun when you can line up perfect back to back shots and the missile dodging keeps it intense. One thing that is making it hard for me to enjoy it to the fullest is the amount of information on screen and also the explosions are so big, my screen turns red for a couple of seconds and I can't see enemy shots! What saved me most of the time was the sound queues for the missiles. So good job on that!
