The controls feel great and responsive. I like how you've used loops to increase the difficulty of the levels. Also that soundtrack - *chef's kiss*. Great job overall.

I'm sorry, but who gave you the right to put such a baller song into this game where I need to focus and be good at the dang thing. But such a solid game, if you don't move forward with it in the future, keep that player controller in your back pocket, cause it got a lot of the right stuff in there. But I can't wait to see what else you got in store for us!

Thanks! The player controller wasn’t too complicated. Was mainly looking at Celeste as an inspiration. The movement was pretty rough at the beginning. But after I got the player sprites it made it a lot easier to see what felt good and what didn’t.

I love the challenge of this game! The art looks amazing and the movement is also really smooth.

Only gripe I have is with the time it takes to respawn. Maybe if you do an update in the future, you can make a key to just skip the cutscene of scrolling through all of the rooms. That would make for a great QoL change. But I loved the game overall, good job!

To be honest i don’t know  if we’re going to continue updating the game because was made for the jam and was a test to see how good the developers were able to work together in a project. Anyways, thanks for your suggestion! ^^

An update isnt a requirement. Its good to see how well you and other people connected on a project. I just did my game to lean Godot, but it is a massive success imo, as I had tons of fun playing it and I got a finished demo out the door in time!

Really challenging and addicting! It took me awhile but I did end up beating it.

You've done a very good job with the movement. The walljumps and dashes feel very smooth and the movement overall has a good sense of weight to it. Also the level transition visuals were a nice touch.

One thing I think could be improved on is the length of time between retries. Sometimes it felt a bit frustrating to die at a part over and over, especially when it was near the end as I would have to wait for the screen to scroll all the way back. Which on its own isn't very long, but this adds up over a number of retries.

Overall, this was a really solid 2D platformer. Well done!

I'll suggest to lower the respawn time, and to repawn at each room instead of at the start of the level (chekpoints).

The animations are amaizing!

And yes i know it can be a bit stressful without checkpoints in each room, but I think is part of the difficulty in this game

Mechanically very solid. I didn't think I would enjoy the more deliberate speed of the player butt I adjusted to it really quickly.  Good execution on the gameplay loop and tutorializing the game. Thanks for the game!

The game is good. The movement also makes me love a bit more restarting levels.

Also, I just have some suggestions:

  • Make the hitbox of the player slightly shorter than the actual player sprite so that the game is more forgiving
  • Make the hitbox of the spikes a small triangle with the base towards the wall, so that the player still dies when running into one, but doesn't when walking off a platform with a spike at the edge (like in the 4th level 2nd screen)
  • Maybe add checkpoints

I couldn't do the third levels with all the red spikes, but it was quite fun to play!

The only things that I didn't like:

- The music which was too loud, and too speed for my taste

- The character felt a bit too heavy, especially when jumping

The music is fantastic! i think some aspects of the controls could be better implemented… The fact that i can climb a wall by keeping walljumping feels more like cheating than feature.
