half/half about this game as whole! Enjoyed it for its purpose and yet its a little endless in feel. Good job 3/5 !

Developer

Cheers, thanks for playing!

Really interesting take on a bullet hell, removing any form of health and replacing it with an attempt to keep your streak going over a set amount of time. As others have noted, a lot of polish elements - such as sounds, character animations, and vfx - would go a long way towards making the game 'feel' more fun to play. But overall, great work!

Thanks for playing, and thanks for the feedback! Appreciate it!

You must be very unhappy about your job, you reflected in on your game :) Joking aside, i like the use of humour in the game.  I couldn't see much point in the game. First of all i think you cannot lose the game. You don't have a certain amonut of lives. You die and you respawn again forever, so there's no losing which beats the purpose of any  game.

I like the art in the game especially the bosses, they're just idle images but they look cool. Lack of sound is a bummer too. A game needs sound effects.

I think this is your first game and it's really something for the first attempt. It also must be difficult to write this from scratch in Python. My respects for your effort and good luck on your future projects

Hi, thanks very much for your feedback!

It most definitely was a learning experience, actually creating a 'completed' game in Python - as you quite correctly point out there was still a bunch that needed to be done!

The 'purpose' of the game, such as it was, was just a high score chase which is why I put the focus on maintaining a high multiplier.

Didn't really get the idea of the game and the main goal we need to achieve... The whole corporate styled bosses are neat but I didn't see the money I need to catch (I guess some of the projectiles were the coins, but distinguish them was near impossible). Really miss the sounds in the game too (

Thanks for playing!

I love that the first guy literally pushes pencils as an attack. The character design carries this game hard. Also, the bullet patterns are really well done, which is fundamental for any good bullet hell. My computer didn't play sound in your game for some reason (I'm with headphones if that helps). Also, the game could use a tutorial, but is intuitive enough. Overall great work, and good luck on the jam!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! There wasn't any sound at all - not through design; I just couldn't get it working how I wanted so ditched it in favour of fixing other issues!

oh this game is real real hard or I misunderstood how to earn money ... quite a metaphor for reality lol

very nice art, interesting vibes that could easily be extended to contain perhaps some clever subtle social commentary ...

I though these coins were how you got the money

Developer

Whoops! Sorry about that!

Thanks very much for playing, and for your comments!

you made this with PYGAME? Nicely done! Liked the art style, fun little game, keep up the good work!

Developer(+1)

Yup, Python is all I know. Thanks very much for playing!

I love the firing mechanic. I love the controls and your take on the theme. Good Job.

Fun premise, game was a blast to play.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing!

Love the firing mechanic getting increasing faster. It felt like guitar hero or something where I have to be better and get a perfect score (if possible)

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, watching your money earned, and your multiplier, rocket upwards is really satisfying!

that was pretty good idk why we were in space tho

Developer

Thanks!

Why space? 'Cos I can't make a decent platformer!

Cheers, thanks for giving it a go!

Had fun, my highscore was 27686, I like when you can barely pass trhough the bullets without being hit, feels nice. The only thing (isnt even game related)  is that Windows trhows a pop up due to unknow editor when starting the game this could lead to someone giving up on playing but I have no idea of how Pygame works so I cant help there. Fun bullet hell, good job !

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! The hitbox for your worker is in the centre ('Z' toggles it on and off), so as to make things more forgiving. Thanks for letting me know about the popup... this was my first attempt at making an executable from a Python file, and I haven't seen that before!

Really original take on the theme, it was quite fun, good work with the arcade/bullet hell style.. Also, quite literally a BOSS Rush game. I enjoyed the little phrases when you get hit a lot, it got a laugh out of me. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks a bunch for playing! Those phrases were designed to 'motivate' the player through 'constructive' feedback, just like real life..!

I found the assortment of projectiles thrown at me to be enjoyably funny.

Developer

Thanks very much!

This game was quite intriguing, bringing back nostalgic memories of classic space shooter arcade games. The boss mechanics injected a sense of fun, albeit they felt a tad repetitive after a while. Surprisingly, I didn't notice any music, which could have added another layer of immersion. Nonetheless, the artwork was undeniably cool, though some animations would have elevated the experience further. Your interpretation of the theme, trading time for cash, was rather amusing. All in all, it was a very enjoyable game—well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I really appreciate your comments. No, there wasn't any music - couldn't get anything working smoothly with Pygame in time. Yup, the bosses are repetitive - I lack the know-how to code any compelling AI behaviour! The only thing that varies is their likelihood to choose certain attacks over others.
