Game's Take on the Theme
You spin a ball to grow it as a dung beetle, or spin it underfoot to ride it, and every death you spin the wheel of reincarnation.. Bosses all have spin attacks as well.
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?

Really fun game with really funny characters! Never would have thought of doing this for spin, your idea is really unique! The graphics and VFX are really nice too, makes the game feel mroe polished!
(PS: If you're willing to I'd love it if you can rate and leave some feedback on my game! This is my first ever jam and I'd love to see where I can improve for the future!)
The game feels crazy cool, I like the models and the ambient overal, it all fits wel together, the game mechanics are nice, I rate graphics control and fun on top but all is cool really, also, if you have time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!!
per fun!! Really good use of the theme of spin. The game mechanic, the spirit, and the art style reminded me of Katamari Damacy. The game controls were simple enough but difficult to make it fun and rewarding to beat the boss
Very funny and entertaining, the main mechanics are very creative, the graphics are good, I really liked it
So if you can, consider checking out my little game too ๐ ๐
wow so much fun, I loved it, the artstyle is great, loved the concept.
This game is a masterpiece! Never would I have thought I'd be playing a game as a dungbeetle, and a cute one at that. The animation is so well done, I like how his little legs move when he's running. Controls felt smooth, the art is fantastic, and it was very satisfying to just simply roll up something, anything! I've only beaten the worm boss so far, but will definitely be trying to beat the rest when I have the time. The game (web build) stopped working when I died a second time and that spirit/ghost man (?) was about to spin the wheel again. Congrats on a game well made!
Absolutely adore the concept. Everything about this game from it's art style to the mechanics feels like it could have been some sort of obscure ps2 game. While I have some criticisms, it doesn't change the fact that I love this game
I love the main mechanic of how creating a ball works. I also love how you incentivize riding a ball as it gets bigger by slowing you down while pushing it. The shooting mechanic is cool, although I agree with everyone else that the green space could've been bigger by a tiny amount since it feels a little too punishing. That said, I do love how you effectively do a shotgun blast by holding on for too long. ( Albeit an underpowered shotgun blast, but still pretty cool ). I do think that the controls to ride the ball were a little finnicky, and having to press forward to be able to ride it wasn't really that intuitive. I think having a separate button to make you ride the ball would've been better.
It goes without saying that the visuals and audio are amazing. The art style is great, and I love how the arenas look as well. That said, I'm not really a fan of the rink. I think it's too small, and as a result the camera got blocked by the walls more times than I could count.
As for the bosses themselves, I love how all of them looked and felt. While I do love the variety, ( the race with ice skater was a cool change of pace ) I feel like some of the fights themselves got a little monotonous since they mostly amounted to the boss doing 1 or 2 attacks and me shooting them. It was a little sad to see that almost every boss just keeps shooting area-of-effect attacks at you. The worms and the ants are the most guilty of this. ( I mean, the ants explode into an aoe, but still ..... )
I thought the ant queen was pretty interesting though. Admittedly she also does a lot of aoe attacks, but her breathing fire was pretty cool. Along with that, I also loved the phase where you need to platform and shoot the ants carrying her in her second phase. I feel like the game would've been better with more fights like that. Unfortunately the game keeps crashing when I try to play more of the ant queen's second phase.
I also never managed to beat the ice skater boss. I'm a little torn about this one in general tbh. I think he moves a little too fast ( Or maybe that's just a skill issue tbh ). I also think the stalagmite attack in his final phase feels a little too random, almost to the point that I was getting juggled. That combined with the camera issues I mentioned earlier meant that this fight got quite annoying at times. I also felt like the wheel of reincarnation got kinda annoying after a while ( Although I could skip this by just using the level select in the pause menu )
Despite any issues I may have, this is still a fantastic game all things considered. I'm honestly just amazed that you managed to get all this done within the timeframe. Phenomenal work
I had a lot of fun with this game, even though it was running pretty bad for me. most of the time when entering the aiming or shooting state, the game would freeze for a little bit.
This game oozes style and personality though which I am a big fan of.
Haha this is awesome. Weird, wonderful, and the movement just feels fun
I really enjoyed this one. I had so much fun just rolling giant balls. Largest was a 7.4kg snowball lol. Great art, music and boss design. Great job! There was some hitching initially when flinging the balls, but didnt really notice it later one.
I went back to playing A Bugโs Life on PlayStation 1, lovely!
I love the funny story. The control is smooth and innovative
I love the charm this game has, and you came up with a ton of creative ways to utilize the dung beetle ball rolling mechanic. The game did crash a couple times, the first time I wasn't sure what happened, but the second time it happened when I tried to rematch Chester in the snow race. My only suggestion with gameplay I have is I feel like the green area of the throw bar could be increased slightly, I struggled with getting the throw timing right in the colony fight since there's a lot going on in that fight. I think humor in the story and dialogue is used very well and it complements to the visual aesthetic of the game. Overall, I think this is a really creative and charming entry, it also makes me excited to start learning Godot.
This is very well made nice job
My god this game is a fever dream and i love it.
Sadly the game becomes extremely laggy and drops to 3 fps after awhile, making it nearly unplayable.
Really fun story and boss designs.
Music is amazing and i love how it pitches up or down randomly, makes the game feel uneasy.
The art style is just pure amazing.
Type of stuff you would see as a lost media.
Thanks for playing! Out of curiosity- do you remember when you were in the game when you hit that slowdown? We were hunting some issues in our web build right down to the submission wire, would be good to know what to fix in a post-jam version!
Whenever I shoot the game freezes, the game started to drop significantly in fps when the worms started spawning dung, then it dropped to 2-3 fps and I had to stop playing :p, also a little fps drop when aiming makes the aiming mechanic really hard to use... But from what little I saw the game is superb, good job! I think it would run much better on a windows build, Ill try out the executable version a bit later and revote.
