Game's Take on the Theme
Curl up into a slug-ball to build up speed and damage by spinning, and once you've built up speed you'll also find yourself spinning around the boss arenas too.

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
Yes

Rated! ;) Unique concept, great art!

Very cool game with a well defined style! This definitely stood out to me in terms of gameplay and genre against the majority of the other games in a good way, so great work!

The art is amazing and the game is very well polished, love the style. The controls feel great, the game feeling is very well done too, very nice game.

Really nice take on the theme, the art is great and sets the tone and I love the lil slug mouse cursor

Incredible game and a really cool implementation on the theme. It has one of the most unique mechanic I've seen in the jam and it's a really fun and polished one to boot!

Aiming and spiting the slime strategically to gain even more inertia is great fun, and I greatly enjoyed the stage hazards factoring in the boss fights. The presentation is also slick and hell, giving a weirdly repulsive (in the best way) feel in both the in-game graphics and the cutscenes (amazed you even managed to fit in cutscenes).

My two small issues were technical, as I had some slowdown from the second boss onwards and I falled out of the stage in the third boss.

Great entry and one of my favourites so far! Will be following you guys!

Actually had way more fun than I thought. Played first round and rolled around, second boss I found out I can place slime for more stamina. Awesome little game. SNAIL GOES WROOOOOOM! Controls are really smooth!

Weird and good, 10/10 the controls are smooth and nice as well congrats

Awesome and bizarre style, I like what's going on it and the whole spin attack is fun to use.
Well done ^_^

love all the vibe the music and art gives, the target selection was kind of odd for the camera, very nice entry!!!

Not sure how this game does not have more comments and ratings, this is HIGH ART.

The cutscenes and the coverart are BEAUTIFUL.

The main mechanic is EXTREMELY fun. Wish it was a little bit more expanded on, the third stage with the spiraling around that tube is quite a good use for the mechanic but does not serve much else than being a cool entrence to a boss.

The first boss was mighty confusing but and disorienting, the first map should have some kind of checkpoints so you can defrenciate the parts of the map even tough that spitting mechanic helps, it's not the best so it becomes quite disorienting.

The third dude looks like that gutalax cover

Amazing bloddy game. Work on it post jam pls this is a really really interesting concept and it can be expanded on quite alot!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I agree with you that it can be disorienting with the camera shifting all the time, but I couldn't think of any clever solutions aside from providing a lock on button. Also I really like that artwork I've never heard of gutalax. I have thought about creating a Zelda-like game using this gameplay if I could figure out how to build the world around the unique movement.

I shall follow you so I can see if you ever decide to update it, good luck on the game if you do decide to work on it further :D

Duuude, this visual style is pure masterpiece! The boss fights themselves are really interesting and gave me a ton of fun! Awesome work!  ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I LOVE the rolling around mechanic it was so fun to keep rolling around and slamming into all my enemies. also I never found myself lost in the arena thanks to the lock on mechanic  which made the rolling mechanic feel alot smoother expect for the last boss I was honestly really confused about alot of the last boss so I sadly didnt end up beating him.

Overall it was a really fun experience. It was super fun rolling around avoiding all the different attacks!

Very nice art. Both the 3D visuals and the 2D cutscenes. The slug character is very funny looking, lol; I think I might have nightmares.

The music is good and the SFX are nicely implemented. Death is a bit confusing. You can keep playing and the screen takes forever to fade out while you do.

The rolling around mechanic is neat and sticking to the walls and ceiling is a very cool mechanic, I've not seen before.

The boss attacks are nicely varied and the lock on system greatly needed. particularly, for the first boss when he went underground.

Nice submission.

The characters and the world, both have SO MUCH personality.
I love how satisfying it feels to kill the boss in 3 hits once you figure out the slime balls
Maybe I miss some sort of shader or postprocessing in the 3D world, to make it more atmospheric, but aside from that it feels like a hidden PS2 gem that I would find at a random creepy yard sale. Awesome experience.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I definitely agree adding in some post processing effects could've improved visuals I just ended up running out of time.

The 2d art style is top level, but the game is in not very high quality 3d, why? If you have such a big talent in 2d, you should make 2d games.

About the game. Interesting idea, i like how we can deal the damage to this boss. I dont figure out what it shit slime balls for.

Developer

I worked with a friend who did the 2D artwork for the game. Having to balance coding and 3D art while using GameMaker which doesn't have 3D support is largely why it looks the way it does. The slime balls are used to facilitate rolling so that you can maintain speed without having to stop to regenerate stamina.
