How does your game fit the theme?
In this game you hire divers to search deep under the sea for treasure. While playing, you must upgrade the divers to allow them to continue diving deeper into the depths, searching for the giant treasure that will allow Steve to retire,
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All code and programming was done by Justin and John of SAWD Games, all art was made by TheHibiscusPoet, all music and SFX was made by Pablo Sosa.

I've seen many games of this type on the jam and by far yours is the best and most fun. Straightforward gameplay, thanks.
This was a lovely game, and I love the upgrades you put in. The upgrade paths really make it interesting.
I got scammed! I had to play this game to the end. I just couldn't stop! Great game!
I did find one bug. If you run out of fuel the prices don't reset and you go back down to base level, making it exponentially harder to get back up. Love the concept and game!
This is incredibly fun and addictive. I honestly couldn't pull myself away from the game to rate it (until Steve scammed me at the end). Great work!
One slight issue is that I'm not really sure what the defenses/knifes do. I know they're supposed to defend divers from sharks, but it didn't look like the sharks actually did anything when they hit a diver. That said, I could have easily missed it, since my strategy was to just spam divers to the point where it was hard to keep track of a single one.
You probably missed it, before you buy knives, the sharks will kill any diver they touch. A knife will kill the shark instead, but you lose the knife, so another shark would kill the diver unless you have a second knife, etc. You're right though, the higher knife levels aren't as useful as intended due to lack of threats. Ultimately, there just weren't enough sharks to make getting more knives feel like it mattered at all.
You don't have to repurchase the upgrade, you just lose out on the hire cost and any treasure they had grabbed before dying. They basically just return to the ship on death. One of my ideas was to have each diver be a character that is hired and upgraded individually, and can die permanently. but we ended up not going that route, at least yet.
rated! not sure if it’s just me but the text was pretty blurry. Did you use text mesh pro?
A very fun and simple game! I like the mechanics and audio of this game! Great job!
Absolutely loved playing this, I'd no joke buy this if it was on the app store with maybe a little bit more content. I loved how all the upgrades tied together and trying to manage boat position with diver positions. Also it is the perfect length for a game jam game, enough to get invested but short enough that it doesn't expect me to play it for hours and doesn't give me time to grow tired of the game mechanics.
The only upgrade that I didn't find that useful was defense, there were too many divers and too little sharks. Maybe make the sharks kill your divers so you need to buy new ones?
Outside of that the only thing that bothered me was the shop hotkey, maybe it was just me but I kept instinctively pressing esc every time to close the shop, exiting full screen instead. Even on my second play through I couldn't get used to it. I know it is the web player that hijacks the esc key, but maybe using space for it or adding a physical close shop button on to the shop itself could have helped, the one on the top right was too far to press naturally.
Anyways if you ever make this a full release add a stats thing at the end, I would love to see how many shark bites I got and how fast I managed to retire. Amazing gameplay, amazing concept, amazing execution.
This was tons of fun! The story was funny and it was fun deciding which upgrades to buy first. My only strife was it was too short :) I'd have kept going all day if there was more to upgrade!
This game was an absolute joy to play. I really appreciated the sense of progress that I was given.

Probably one of the best games I've played so far! Feels pretty complete and not lacking anything major. Really calm and chill game. It got a bit repetitive towards the end for me but it reminds me of an idle mobile game that I could see myself playing on the toilet or something c: Great job!
One of my favorite genre is incremental management game and this game does is a great one. It's rare for this kind of genre in this game jam due to the theme. I can see the idea to be expanded further, looking at the description you do have more ideas for it.
Really like the casual and chill vibe of it, the music definitely contribute a lot there.
The refuel mechanics doesn't seems to add much to the gameplay. It's irrelevant most of the time, and when you need to refuel it's cheap and just need to press a button.
The game lags a bit when a bunch of divers deployed on the WebGL build on Chrome (performs better on Edge).
Hey! don't know if you remember me but glad to see that you made the game. Hope it was fun to make!
Amazing game! Very solid gameplay loop, the first game I finished today. The only I am not diving very deep. Also we I place a lot of diver, the game starts getting a bit stuck
