How does your game fit the theme?
I don't just ask the question What's behind the door? But also, Where's the Door?
I took the idea of going through a door, and first made you have to find the door to go through. I was also inspired by the idea of the theme being a question.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code myself.
I used assets from the following creators:
Art from Tiny Adventure Pack - Vryell https://vryell.itch.io/tiny-adventure-pack
Music composed by Bert Cole https://bitbybitsound.com/
SFX are from the 8 Bit Sound Pack - https://danereid1024.itch.io/8-bit-sound-pack

Fun puzzle. I like the graphic choice. Puzzles were way too easy though, I think you could punch those up some more. I also think falling into the pits were more of an accidental frustration instead of a fun gameplay mechanic. Overall, really well done little game. Great job!
Nice little puzzle game! Reminded me of old school game boy Zelda games. Nice slow progression of mechanics, simple and clean graphics, and good mechanics and sound effects. Keep it up!
Thanks for the glowing review!
good luck with the jam!

Really liked this one! The graphics are amazing, and I can see there was a lot of work put into the audio and the music as well. The game was also pretty fun to play, and it’s great that it had so many levels.
The only thing I’d criticize is that the walking felt a little weird. I wasn’t able to pinpoint exactly why though, but I felt that sometimes the movement wasn’t as responsive as I expected it to be. It’s probably related to the fact that the movement is fixed to the tiles, and that the direction doesn’t change when you press another button to move while still pressing another one. Anyway, it wasn’t that disruptive.
Lastly, I liked the idea, and feel like it fitted the theme really well!
thanks! I’m glad you liked it.
Yeah, I’ve heard the movement was weird from a few people. I think the floor pattern looked more like tiles it would make it much clearer you step from “tile” to “tile”. But I don’t know. I’m gonna clean it up a bit after the jam.
Thanks again
Cheers!

Beautiful and fun game ! I really love the whole gameplay around the door ! GG
cheers!
A really nice idea very well executed, nice job!
Thanks!
Very good and polished idea, I was sad that it ended so fast.
Fun little game, If i was the main character I would just go through the dorway but some people have standards I guess lol. nice graphics and sounds
Cute game! The player did somehow feel both slide-y and stiff at the same time.
Thanks for playing!
Yeah, tile movement is a little weird sometimes. I got to work on that.
Thanks for the feedback. Cheers!
I loved, not so fan of the "rollers" level 9 felt out of place. The art is sharp!!
Thanks for playing!
Yeah, Level 9 was when I was trying to experiment with different kinds of puzzles. A loop around the screen seemed like a good idea at the time.
Cheers!
Really nice concept!
Only thing that felt a bit off was the movement. I guesss because it always took 1 "platform" each time you walked.
But overall super nice!
Well done!
Yeah, it is a tile-movement style game, so sometimes you take one step too far if you're not used to it. Which coupled with some of the pit placements, could be a disaster. I won't be doing that again. :)
Thanks for playing.
Takes me back to 2D zelda dungeons. Nice work on the puzzle design.
Really fun puzzle game, I would like to se more level with maybe some new puzzles. Great work.
If you have time check out my game.
Nice fun little puzzler!
Solid game, visually very cute, music and sound effects are on their places and overall atmosphere is very consistent and nice. Puzzles themselves not very difficult but pleasant and have a lot of potential.
One mechanic that I found a little bit frustrating - is falling into pits. I had a moment, when I fell at the end of the very last level which canceled all my progress. I think, if falling would not restart a level, overall game experience will be even better.
I know exactly the pit you're talking about and I will be taking it out of the game. I just never made bridges work over water, so I had to either use a pit or change how bridges worked. I left it a pit.
After the jam, I'm going to fix that because it's super annoying. I tried to make the pit deaths only possible at the beginning of levels, but that one had to be there.
Thanks for playing. And for the feedback.
This was a lovely little puzzle game. I'm embarrassed at how many times I fell into a pit. I can tell you've got a good sense for puzzle design. There is a nice build up of difficulty level from room to room.
I love the puzzles in this game! I'm usually really bad at puzzles, but this one was easy to understand and fun to play! I like that there's a progression that shows how far the player is from the last level :) I also like the different door designs on the last level! Amazing art and audio too. Great job on the game! :D
Thanks so much! I was following the rule of "if it feels easy, make it easier" so that it wasn't just for puzzle gamers. I'm glad it worked.
Cheers! Thanks of the feedback.
A Competitor in all categories. good work.
The puzzles were really fun and it was nice to play! Only thing i dont like about it is that the movement felt a bit hard to use and slightly janky, apart from that, it had fun puzzles and gameplay, and also fun art!
Thanks!
The movement is using Tile Movement, so you always step a full grid square. Which is weird to get used to. I think I should've made the ground reflect that more, maybe big blocks instead of small bricks. It might have made it easier to see the tile movement aspect.
Thanks for playing though. Good luck with the jam!

The puzzles were really fun
Cheers! I'm trying to get better at puzzle design.
