It was great to be able to escape the danger. It made me want to explore to come back to take care of those monsters.

Graphics and audio are really nice and fitting. But what i liked the most is the progression of the game, the fact that you need to understand the correct order to do things, and that there are dierent weapons and armors for different monsters. It works perfectly! Also, the listening mechanic is really cool! Great job!

Really cute. I love me an RPG. I liked the listening mechanic, it was fun. I don't know if actually helped that much, but it was cool.

I liked the little upgrades, the fast moving outfit was cool. And trading the sword for the bow was exciting. Nice work overall. I think some more animations for the characters and monsters would've been nice. I think a bit more polish and this would be a solid little game.

Cheers,

Good luck with the jam.

Love the concept, really good use of the theme to be listening at doors to try to figure out what is behind it. Visuals and sound worked really well together. I was all ready to save the town until I cleared out one ladies house and then she moved into the door and stopped trapping me inside! xD Really well done!

Oh no to that door blocking lady! 😂

Nice game, good theme, keep working bro ^^

The door listening is a great use of the theme.

Art and audio are good, although adding a walking animation on the player character could have make it better (even a very basic one).

Respawning with the items would have been less rough than restarting from the beginning every time.

Great fun! Great door mechanic with listening. Love that you can find clues by talking to the townsfolk. Got a great A Link to the Past feeling from it. Sound effects are also on point.

I found all (?) items, is there an end to the game? I think I killed everything there is to kill. The cyclops were way unforgiving and most of the time killed me. Would have been great if you respawned with the sword and armor if you already found them once.

Great game! and has original mechanic! I like to hear trough the doors to imagine what's behind!

Fun game! I think you really nailed the theme. Having to listen at the door is a clever game mechanic.

That was an interesting take on the theme well done :)

I liked the atmosphere ( music and SFX )and the art.

I think it would be better if the text was a bit less big, it takes like half the screen each time, also, it I did something from playing a lot of Pokemon games lol, when there's a dialogue appearing, I tend to press again on the dialogue button hoping to make it appear faster, but in your case it was often just relaunching the dialogue at the end of it.

I struggled a bit to find monsters to beat with the armor and sword, aside of " vermines" all the one eye monster instant kill me.

Could be a nice game if you push it further :)

Thanks for the tip about the dialog mechanic. I totally missed that! And the level design definitely needs another pass! 😅

Great visual! Interesting mechanics that you need to listen to what is behind the door. It creates a certain vibe! All this is perfectly supported by excellent visuals! Good game!

Nice progression, but it could be sign-posted a bit more. I ended up finding some items (sword, armour) but then still dying to certain enemies without it being clear why. I'd then have to do everything again! Maybe checkpoints would be a nice addition? The listening at door mechanism is a really nice idea.

Hi! nice game, I liked the progressive aspects of it. I think perhaps some first house that works as a tutorial, or the inability to enter a house if you are not powerful enough could be an improvement. But it's quite enjoyable! Keep going!

I'm also in the jam, and I know with more time everyone has a list of things they'd like to add or wanted to add. I try to provide the listed feedback in a constructive form to highlight different perspectives as a player and to show that I indeed did play the game.

  • Great use of Kenney's assets. Clever using the castle for menu button texture.
  • Thought the transition into building with removing the roof was a nice polish. Had never thought of doing that myself.
  • Introduction to new things could be more gentle to the player, as an example I picked up armor, went to a ghost room, insta dead. I picked up armor, went to one eye room, insta dead.

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely agree with your last point! That's one of those things that tough to see when you're in the thick of it! 😅

For some reason I cannot attack monsters. Do I have to find a sword first?

    Developer

Thanks for trying out my game! Yes, there are weapons scattered throughout the village!
