How does your game fit the theme?
Lighthouse Keeper embodies the theme by starting with a tense, quiet period where the player, as a lone lighthouse keeper, prepares for an approaching storm by performing routine tasks. This initial calm slowly builds tension as the environment worsens, transitioning from peaceful isolation to the chaos of violent winds and vengeful spirits rising from the sea. The storm serves not only as a physical threat but also as a metaphor for the unraveling of hidden dangers and mysteries, creating a stark contrast between the calm preparation and the supernatural chaos that follows.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, I wrote the code and Liam made the assets and music within the week.

Graphics and audio are great. However, I don`t like controlling the character with the mouse. Also, I feel like there isn`t enough time to complete the tasks and I would prefer multiple inventory spaces. Excellent work overall.
Thanks for playing and thank you for the feedback! I agree with the character movement being frustrating at times, i've pushed a hotfix to improve this as it was becoming a major issue. So let me know if you end up playing it again!
Really nice graphics style and atmosphere. Sadly I got eaten by ghosts a little too soon :(
Thanks for playing! Appreciate the feedback, and you can use your lantern to keep the ghosts away but you need to make sure it has fuel! :)
Game is solid in everything so well done!
Awesome thanks for playing!
It's a nice game unique concept! Art is nice with a horror type of style game.
Only down part was that moving around was so hard so I didn't had enough time to fix everything fast. Tho it's a very good game for sure.

Really nice game, I liked the concept! I found a bit hard being quick enough to fix everything on time, but other than that, really solid game!
Thanks for playing! Yeah i think the timings will need some balancing but i'm glad you enjoyed it!
Really amazing art, programming, and audio. The point and click didn't always run the character where I intended but that's my only complaint. The atmosphere, storytelling, and sense of foreboding left a great impression on me. Fantastic work you two, impressive collaboration and accomplishment.

An Awesome 3d game (which isn't that common during jams), the graphics are top-notch, and the atmosphere is also crazy. Everything works as expected.
8.5/10 :>
That's great to hear thank you for the kind words and thanks for playing! :)
Wow the atmosphere is really good, possibly the best I've seen today!
The graphics, lighting and pixelated noise really set the eerie tone.
My feedback:
The point to click is very wonky - sometimes I click on the shed and the character goes around it and jiggles around the clicked point instead of just stopping there so it makes it difficult to accurately tell him to go to exactly where I click. It also frequently overshoots and goes in a circle. I think the game should have gone with traditional WASD controls as it would've been better and made the character move more predictably. Since this is a time-intense game, the unpredictable movement of the character made it difficult and at times frustrating to play especially when I thought I could trigger the interact key, only to realise that it did not get triggered because the character went around in a circle, costing precious seconds and causing a few rage-worthy moments.
The hitbox of the shed is also a little weird. Sometimes the 'E' key appears when I'm to the left of it, but the item bar does not appear. I had to fiddle around until I realise I have to be directly in front of the shed, not to its side or inside or behind. This combined with the character movement and the shed being the central most important location, made it a little more frustrating than fun at times.
However, overall the atmosphere is great and it made this game really stand out. The setting of being stuck on an island and seeing the ghosts approach you is just ... wow.

I have more or less the same experience as others here: great audio, art combining to create a strong atmosphere, but the navigation felt awkward with the character frequently going somewhere I didn't intend to, and the time given for completing tasks is really tight. Nice submission!

Thanks, I gave it another go, still got caught on things occasionally but it definitely felt improved.
Good take on the theme, loved the atmosphere and the "pixely" 3d. Very good submission! Well done.
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it :D
Great submission here. Good take on the theme, nice art style and greatr for just 2 people working on it. well done
Thank you very much! Yeah it was a tricky task for just 1 programmer and 1 artist but we had a lot of fun making it. Thanks for playing :)
Nice atmosphere!
Glad you liked it thanks for playing!
Love the atmosphere of the game.
Good job
Thanks for playing and for the kind words, much appreciated!
A tight and gloomy task-completion game.
Task feel super tight to complete, and while I like the overall aesthetic, the mouse click movement is a bit janky (player runs around the clicked object.) Also, I had an experience where I could see interaction button, but could not access the shed
I love the artstyle and the shaders, it's very retro. And the movement feels really fluid. My only critisism is that the tasks aren't all that fun to do, but that's to be expected given the small time frame.
Great submission!
Hey thanks for playing! Yeah we wanted to have minigames for each task but just didn't have the time with 2 of us. Appreciate the feedback :)

Thanks for playing! And yeah agreed the movement needs some work, thank you for the feedback!
Art style is so great. The game reminds me of a movie The Lighthouse. Awesome game.
Thanks for playing :D Glad you enjoyed
Really love the artstyle and graphics. It's very pretty and innovative!
Don't really love the gameplay. Especially the controls. It's annoying to click the house and watch the guy run around and out of interaction range. Maybe should have made him stop whenever he reach the interact distance.
Thanks for playing! And yeah the controls definitely can use some tweaking to get them feeling better. Maybe if you click an object like the house or boathouse, it can move you to a set position in front of it. Thanks for the feedback :)
Really atmospheric game, I just wished that completing tasks was more than walk to a place and press a button to walk back. But it's well done for a short gamejam with no bugs while I was playing, and that is worth a lot as well!
Thanks for playing and for the kind words! Definitely agree with you on the task completion, we wanted to implement a mini-game for each task but just didn't have the time with the 2 of us. Definitely something we will be adding in future updates.
Great atmosphere here, I really like it ! With more different tasks to accomplish it would be awesome ! But great work overall
Thanks for playing!
