Eat acorn, life good
Storm came, acorn gone
Think about acorn

I like your existential poetry.

Impressive game! currently it's quite difficult to see and navigate the area and i hope the acorns just come directly at the close range. other than that, it's really well done!

this is cute game!! Poor cute squirrel

Wow this is really cool, I love the perspective and the feeling of the jumping. The squirrel looks cute and the mechanic with the acorns is simple but fun.

I think going to explore during the tutorial breaks the tutorial and it was easier for me at that point to reload the whole game to see it again. Other than that I think you did a great job on this game!

Loved the graphics and ended up refreshing my window to play the game again, great job!

This game was cute, simple and fun. I have never played a game where I get to be a squirl before and I loved the innovation of gameplay. Hiding acorns and then forgetting where they were after a storm was such a good touch. I like to give constructive feedback but I can only think of two after playing. First I think the camera perspective is difficult to navigate with for a 3D game. Because the environment is 3D but the perspective is fixed it makes it difficult to navigate the world, you could solve this by making the level design more linear or by allowing the player to move the camera (maybe keyboard to move mouse to dig and burry acorns and change perspective). Second I think the player should have an indication that the storm is coming besides the top left. The storm started on a wave and I didn't realize it and it took me a few seconds to get to the shelter, even though I made it to the shelter the screen still faded to black and I lost. This can be solved by either giving the player a visual indication of the exact moment where they will loose the game if they don't find shelter. It never feels good to be surprised by a game over. Overall this is one polished game jam game and I enjoyed it a ton! I especially like the mix of 2D and 3D, amazing job!

I think the mechanics in this entry is very ingenious, novel but very intuitive. And I think everything you can and have to do play together very nicely, and having to remember where you buried the acorns is very cool. On top of that, the controls felt very nice, and the graphics were good and charming. One thing I don't understand is why include the backside of the house, since it is a 2.5d game and the camera doesn't really like it. But other than that, this game was a joy to play

I enjoyed this! I really liked the squirrel animations, and the environment. I also liked a lot the music, specifically when the storm occurs, because it adds a LOT to the tension of the moment.

I somewhat felt as if the storm was not such a big threat though, seeing the stamina in a more deadly light than the storm, but this was really nice nonetheless.

Nice game :D!

I really like how the game tried to emulate the squirrel experience closely. I got to forget where I put my acorns, scramble around trying to find more, and I accidentally planted a bunch of trees! Fun lil game ya have here.

Good stuff! I especially like the memorization element.

Developer

Glad you noticed it and liked this little design. The idea is that if you buried too much, you will need to remember the place in case a lack of acorns in the follow-up waves. This is designed to make you understand why a squirrel cannot find the acorns they buried sometime.

Hi! This is really pretty, and it's made by the people who made Colleidoscope!!

One thing is it's hard to navigate in the 2.5D space, and it's difficult to tell if a storm is coming.

Otherwise, the visuals and programming are great! Good job!

Hi SleepiiRaven. Happy to see you again in this jam. Thank you so much for your words.
Only me is working with this new team. Other guys from Colleidescope were in another entry https://05figure.itch.io/a-storms-a-brewing. - Check it out!

So much effort, great visuals, gameplay style I have never seen before. Probably a contender to the best game of this Jam!

Super cute game!! I struggled finding shelter for a while, but it is very fun! I wish there was a thunder sound to indicate that the storm is approaching before the darkening of the screen, so that we have time to find a shelter :) Love the 2d-3d mix as well!

Cute game, nice job! Also, great idea to put challenge tiers in the game description, definitely kept me motivated (though best I can do is platinum for now hehe)

This is super cute!! I like the blend of a 2D cut-out for the flying squirrel and the 3D background, it's an interesting art style!

Adorable little game, I love flying squirrels :D

Gorgeous visuals, great introducation for new players, simple and and well executed mechanic, clean UI.
Each aspect of the game is very well done.

The game itself is fun to play. I initially thought what there will be more interaction with trees, like ability to climb on them and hover between points. I had some fun trying to climb on the building using windows as platforms.

Feedback:
- it was a little bit hard to navigate because of camera perspective
- personally, I like to reduce the keys needed to press, so I would make one button for dig/dig up button. Maybe even combine them with shelter usage "E" button. So, when you near the shelter - it will be using shelter. When you're with nuts and on clear ground - squirrel will dig nuts. And when near buried acorns they can be highlighted - and button will dig them up.
- I feel like pixel hunting for buried acorns in 2.5 D perspective can be daunting... I might highlight them then in very close range

Overall is very polished entry, very cool.

And glad to see you again!

love this game! the environment was cute and i liked the different squirrel movement positions. I think the idea of playing as an animal preparing for a storm, the way they do in real life is really fun and on theme! Occasionally it could be hard to 'pinpoint' the correct spot; I had to move back and forth and adjust sometimes for it to react. It was very fun to play overall!

The developer tier is so true lol

I really liked the feel of the 2.5 perspective and the graphics that brought the world together.

Question for you: should I be stocking up on acorns at a particular area to weather the storm? My stamina doesn't make it haha

Great game! especially for 1 week

Cheers

Well done making this in a week! I found it challenging to keep my stamina up and also keep burying those nuts. The squirrel animations were fun. Overall this is an impressive entry!
