How does your game fit the theme?
You're trying to get everyone into your bunker before the storm (the apocalypse) happens. The thing is-- the storm isn't going to happen. A perpetual calm before the storm that isn't gonna happen... right?

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes.

Very fun game recommended by someone else with great characterization! Would absolutely recommend.

I did run into this issue where by moving the characters in a certain way I could combine them, and that broke the game. Alternate ending: You all become one entity...?

Developer

thank you so much! that's a known issue, we're thinking of a way to fix it right now

Impressive how much art you did in just a week! The game felt really satisfying to play but there was a bug I encountered that prevented me from progressing where I couldn't place anyone on an empty tile but using that tile was the only solution I had to actually be able to progress

For some reason, this is one of the games of this jam which I just coudn't stop playing until I finished. I liked all the little details you got: sprite moving animations, dialog "voices". Also liked convincing people and how dialogs were written overall, it was fun! I don't know if it is possible to not save someone due to lack of time, but I saved everyone (had only 2 mistakes and needed to try convince these people again). Mini-game of fitting people in the bunker wasn't too hard, and it was also fun.

Great games, guys, loved it!

First of all, incredible premise. Instantly made me interested in the game. Second of all, the game itself is great and lives up to the premise completely lol

It's fun trying to convince the various characters using their descriptions to your advantage - I did struggle getting Quinn on board, took me two tries (!!) but it was smooth sailing with everyone else. The ending is great too.

I got confused with some of the sitting logic keywords (logical) for most of the game but it's neat that you can use the character descriptions within gameplay like that.

Overall fantastic jam submission, amazing work!!

Interesting combination of dialogue with the board placement and how the different attributes affected where you can place the piece. I think the board sometimes glitches as I was able to get a piece right on top of another one, but it was pretty interesting.

Overall, nice job on this game!

Hee-ho. Cute art

Really good and funny little game, I love the way it fits into the theme! Although stacking multiple people in one slot kinda breaks some of the difficulty. I’d be stuck for way longer if that wasn’t possible. Awesome stuff, nevertheless!

I have successfully convince everyone and put them in one place, :D

Good puzzle game! that was fun

Hilarious! I liked the writing, the art and the puzzle mechanics. Unfortunately, the puzzle bugged out, sometimes I couldn't place characters on certain tiles. This bug appeared when I got everyone in the bunker, so couldn't finish it. It was good before that though!

Developer(+1)

yeah... we dont know what's happening with that. thanks for pointing that out! we're very glad you liked it :D

The art was so sweet and wholesome! I also appreciate that one house that's . . . just . . . on the others. Big fan of the idea to make our protagonist be into conspiracies this spiel being normal to everyone surrounding them.

Developer

hehe funny house

Thanks for playing!!

this is one of my favorite games I've played this jam! funny, interesting, and a unique idea! I like the contrast between talking to the people and then puzzling out how to fit them all together

Developer

Glad to hear you enjoyed it!  It was definitely a lot of work trying to merge two ideas into a single game but glad to hear it worked out well.  :)

Very innovative game, and fun too! I really liked it! Well done :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks!  It was a pretty blind shot in the dark in whether it would work out so I'm glad it ended up working out.

The decisions were really well done! I’m not usually a fan of this type of game, but for some reason, I enjoyed it and had a lot of fun. Great game!

Developer(+1)

Great to hear it!  We definitely took it in a bit more of an odd spin than just your standard visual novel so good to hear it panned out!

Submitted(+1)

loved the character design! i enjoyed playing this one a lot, even if i wasnt very great at it :'D awesome work!!

Developer(+1)

Really glad to hear it.  We were definitely trying to go more for a high score style rather than expecting someone to get all of them.

Submitted(+1)

hehe very innovative and right on the theme! well done bro!:))

Developer

Calm before the storm definitely doesn't imply that there has to be an actual storm. ;) Thanks!

good aesthetics, nice character art design, awesome writing and a cool puzzle in the end, gj!

Developer

Glad to hear it, I was a bit worried in the middle but it sounds like everything came together nicely in the end!  Thanks!

This is a brilliant game. I loved the art, and even the animations where the sprites spin around - that helps the characters feel so alive!

Also, why do mom and dad look so tired? Maybe from looking after their kids?

Great job.

Developer

Yes. The MC is a conspiracy theorist who keeps bothering them. Mom fully believes that the MC is a genius but is tired of them asking her to play Crypts and Serpents (dungeons and dragons) every single day, Dad is just tired af because his kid is a dummy.

Thanks for the compliments! I thought the animation was really silly, so I kept it in.

A simple but powerful game! I really enjoyed the gameplay that you can talk to multiple people. The mini game's also interesting and itself can be a great board game. Thank you so much for making this wonderful work. Really enjoyed it.

Developer

Thanks for playing!! Quite glad you enjoyed it ^^

The end justifies the means, which means that lying to 40%~ish of the roster is totally okay!

I really enjoyed my time with this one, even if my social deduction skills weren't as good in the beginning. (My own mother betrayed me).

I also enjoyed the tile-based puzzle sections after each hour, and how they helped the game not feel too stale! Even if I didn't completely understand how the logical tile type worked.

I will now proceed to look at the stars on the daily to see if a nuke is coming my way. Thanks for the headsup!

Developer(+1)

Yeah no problem. You see, you just have to look at the north star, and if Mars is edging closer to the Andromeda galaxy, that means a nuke is coming. THIS IS WHAT THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW.

Seriously though, thanks so much for playing our game! I'm glad that you enjoyed your time with the game :)

For the logical tile, each tile adjacent to it within a block must be mirrored on the other side of the tile for its conditions to be fulfilled.

It appears I am not a very good harbinger of the apocalypse. Great work though!

Developer

Hi, thank you so much!!
