How does your game fit the theme?
the player can upgrade his "stats" when the sun is up, to prepare for the hordes of zombies that appear at night (with a dust storm). Every day gets harder and more type of zombies will spawn.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
no, I watched a lot of yt videos on how to implement some things and then changed them for my needs. Nearly all assets are from other sources, which I listed in the description.

Nice roguelike shooter! It looked great, and I think you had some good ideas here. The core gameplay was pretty difficult, and I'm not totally convinced it's possible to beat day 3, but I think this is only a few minor improvements away from something great! Here's some simple things that I think would improve the experience a bit:

  • Clicking directly on the zombies is fairly unintuitive and a bit tedious. I think a more standard "line of sight" collision would make more sense. Clicking right in front or behind a zombie and still missing them feels like a bug when the animation shows you shooting at them with a pistol
  • The only upgrade that feels useful is damage. Cooldown upgrades are much too small to make a difference, HP won't save you if the zombies keep piling up from your lack of damage, and the scrap-per-day upgrade takes 4 days to pay off (which is a nearly impossible feat). I would buff the numbers on pretty much all of these
  • Add a timer that shows how much longer you need to wait until the next day. Not knowing if there's 5 seconds or 5 minutes of shooting left makes the game drag at times
  • Give scrap for killing zombies. This will help the extremely restrictive prices, as well as give you increasing progress for each level. As it is, a zombie is an annoyance, but if it gives money, then it's an opportunity to look forward to

Keep it up! There's definitely a lot of potential here!

This is a fun game! Very simple and interesting loop. I like upgrading the gun, but I think it should scale faster. I don't think it is possible to get past round 3 as is, but I like the concept. I think the player should also have a bit more freedom of where to click. Right now, it's VERY precise. It'd also benefit from a timer so the player knows how much longer they have to survive the night for. Overall, this game has potential! More guns, different upgrades, maybe items. Can definitely be a fun mobile gun for sure.

Cool game! The music, sounds and visuals are very fitting! Though  shooting zombies in the dark felt a litle jank without being able to see them and sometimes I felt like i shold've hit them when I didn't. If you don't want people shooting zombied in the dark then make the health bar invisible until zombies enter the light. But if you want people to still try to shoot zombies in the dark a good solution is an outline shader as Inkbuddy pointed out!

Pretty neat game. But something that I'd like to point out is, the zombies are a bit hard to see trough the darkness, even though you can fully see their health bars. An outline shader for their models would be a great touch(and maybe with a more stylized visual if everything is lowpoly) and maybe have less zombies for the second night 💀. I barely made it out alive... until the third night

ya, I did the entire spawn system a couple of hours before the deadline and then didnt have time to balance the game at all lol

i fell ya, I didn't have an enemy AI until  the last 4 hours maybe

Cool game!! The shooting and atmosphere are very good. I felt the second level to be too difficult, will try again later only focusing on the upgrades. but the ramp felt too high for me. The audio and sfx are well designed. Not many bug reports to make.

Kudos!!

Really enjoyed playing, I think there's a bug on the pause button (esc) though, as when you resume you lose the crosshair, which made it impossible to shoot anything lol. Fun game though!

The art style was fitting, and I loved the creativity behind the level design. The gameplay was engaging, though I think some elements could be smoothed out for better flow. You clearly put in a lot of effort. Good job, man! 🫡

Wow... Great art and atmosphere. Some great shooting mechanics and upgrade system here.
I had some fun... But not in the way you meant to :)

Did you know, what you can bring your gun cooldown to negative number? And after that you can shoot only once in a day? And when cooldown is zero it shows -0 and have the same effect as negative number?
Did you know, what you can repeat level even after game over screen and survive the wave even when your hp is below zero?
Did you know what cost for Gun Cooldown is 25 but label says 20?
DId you know after day 30 or something with 0.01 reload speed I'm still dying?

Fun little gem! Love it :)

Only some of them, I didnt have time to balance all the upgrades and zombies and then to test it out, I barely got it working 2h before the deadline xD. Saw some bugs, but didnt have the willpower to fix them and went to sleep.

Thank you for your feedback, I will fix it after the jam is over :D

Great shooting mechanics, and I really liked the improvement system! Just a small bug with the mouse visibility after death, but overall it was fun. Looking forward to more updates!

also can you review our game? Thanks in advance!

your shooting system is good. about the way your game was the first game that i player that was made in unreal engine in this jam. the Improvements system looked cool.

you forgot to do that after you die the mouse will be visible and able to click on buttons. because of that i couldnt return to the menu without exiting the game.

i would be more than happy if you try my game too and rate it. here it is

my game: who took my son? where am i?

here is a screen shot so you will know how good is my game :)

I really liked the visuals! Shooting them was satisfying because you need a bit of aim.

Great graphics and audio. I really enjoy playing your game :D.

Actually quite fun, good job on implementing everything together well. Quite a solid and complete experience.

Feedback:
- A bit of visual feedback on killing zombies would go a long way (slight camera shake for example)
- The bullets sometimes didn't fully align with where my mouse was

Cool game! I like the graphics and the audio you used. I had a problem with the target indicator when I paused the game to adjust the sound sittings on my pc, it just disappeared and I had to rerun the game. But after that I had fun shooting! my fav part is the fast enemies xD

Developer(+1)

Thank you :), ya theres a bug with the pause UI, but im not sure if im allowed to fix it and upload the game again.
