The art is so nice and chill, and the music too! Feels very like a lot of effort into making the game look this good and it really pays off! Nice job!
I am not a good cook so I'll delegate this game to someone that really knows how to cook. For me though, I would like to see some hints on what ingredient is required for a particular recipe, and also some record of what recipe is used for the one already done. It's also worthwhile to point out that the 1-second wait is a bit long and makes trial and error a bit less enjoyable.
Anyway, this is a very solid entry. Nice work!!!
(BTW, there is another game on itch with the exact name and exact gameplay, so probably watch out for that. Don't want your views to be directed elsewhere :)
Both games have same inspiration game for sure from little alchemy. They used different art style. We will probably need to change our name but overall their mechanics have some slight variety. Though I am happy with what we made. I think post jam we will change ours Pixel Chef. We will really wanted to show off my pixel food art as I love the genre. We would love other features you would like to see added to help differentiate.
Nice mechanics and visuals and audio. Well polished. Did anyone else feel weird cooking food then throwing it away? Wish that trash button said "serve" instead of "trash". I would have liked to have the actual recipe revealed in the book after discovering it. (But I guess it was intended as a memory game, so that might defeat the purpose?)
The idea is really fun, and the game itself is very entertaining. The style and music are great. The only downside for me is that finding all the recipes can be quite frustrating and feel a bit too long.
I loved the art! at the beggining I did not understand how I was suposed to cook but then I put the plate on the table and then I could cook. Interesting but I would have loved a little more details on the recipe collection, from the recipes already discovered and from the ones already made. Nice entry.

This is a master recipe for a game! It would be nice if you unlocking recipes hinted at what the other recipes would be but still very fun!

We didn’t want hints about non-unlocked recipes to ruin challenge, so decided that darkened image is good way to hint. More hints would probably hurt more then help.
Great game, I had a lot of fun trying to figure out different recipes and seeing the art, my only suggestion would be at first I was confused by what was still in the pot, being able to see what ingredients are currently in there would be helpful and make things clearer, other music tracks would be cool too, great stuff!

We have some plans for post-jam update to list ingredients inside pot. Not sure about new music tracks, but might add few extras one way or another.
It calmed me down from some of the other jam games I've played before this, so good job!
I would've loved to see what I ended up cooking. maybe some kind of encyclopedia? The art was nice. Music got a bit repetetive after it looped several times.

We are trying to keep amount of text to minimum in our game, to be non-english friendly, but will think about good way to add some kind of information about found recipes.
Agree with music been a bit repetitive, do, personalty, i prefer it this way. We have few ideas how to make it less noticeable in post-jam updates.

Fun! I think I would have added maybe some text box with name of dishes / ingredients as it was quite hard to figure out what do what but otherwise well done :)
thanks for the input we have to think on this. Currently we wanted to be as language free as possible. (Us devs all have different languages as well)

Love the art on this, it's so cute. I had fun trying to puzzle out the different recipes.
Amazing artwork and very clean game! I really enjoyed puzzling together the recipes i managed to get all but two, second row 4th from the left and third row first from the left, I really wanted to get them but alas my cooking skills are limited it seems! I really wanted to see the artwork for the bubble looking one it seems really interesting!

I really like this! It reminds me of the cooking mechanics in the older Harvest Moon games, which had a lot of trial and error. Absolutely gorgeous pixel art and music, and everything runs really smoothly. Well done, I sat and discovered a tonne of the recipes just so I could see the beautiful art. 🍜🥫
Very cozy game. It was a little difficult for me to find new recipes - I got 2, and then I just kept getting the same ones, lol. I will definitely not become a chef haha.

So cozy. This game makes me feel like I'm maybe not set out to be a chef. The arts are GREAT THOUGH.
I like the art style. And the game was great. Had fun trying different kinds of combinations to create the recipe. I suggest adding some kind of text to know what kind of ingredients we are inserting into the pot. Nonetheless its a great game.

Great game! I like the art style and gameplay. I agree with the other comment, it's a little bit difficult to grasp at the start. But once I got the mechanic, I had fun figuring out the recipes just from the silhouettes, makes me want to unlock all the recipes! It would be nice to have some ingredient info for unlocked recipes though.
Game was great! I had fun trying out the combinations to discover the recipes. It was a little difficult at the start because I thought the yellow item was cheese, and didn't know how to use the bowls or plates. The game fits the theme well, when many recipes can go wrong.
