In what way does your game fit the theme?
Charlie, our deviant detective, rewinds recorded alibis to reconstruct them into confessions.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
We wrote all of the code ourselves. Many textures, models, and soundtracks were pre-made, but the rest was made during the jam.

This was an awesome concept. Voice overs are great. Great way to embrace the theme. I did get frustrated with the girl and the necklace. It says 4 phrases recorded by help says 3. Couldn't think of any other way to order it
Woops! That's embarrassing. it was pointed out to me early in development too and I completely forgot to change it!
Edit - do you mind deleting the pictures or cropping them? I don't want them to spoil others and I don't want to remove your comment. Thanks in advance!
Very well executed game! The gameplay was fun and the voice acting was phenomenal. This is a very cool concept for the theme Rewind. I downloaded it instead of playing on WebGL because the WebGL version was a little buggy.
Yeah, WebGL doesn't like spotlights too much. It messes with a bunch of other things. Thanks for playing!
Great job! I loved the aesthetic of the game. It felt a tad finickity, but doing something like this would, and you gave just enough leeway to make it feel enjoyable, but still realistic. The voiceovers are really well done, and you did a good job of showing what words had been recorded.
Thank you! Matching up the words on screen and in the audio was a hassle, but well worth it.
I just cringed reading that sentence realizing how much work that would be. You should get way more credit for that. I thought doing solutions took a long time.
We actually programmed the phrases to be broken up via a json file resource and then used a stopwatch to time each word by hard, adjusting to make it possible to play. It only took a few hours.
That's very impressive.
You really did a good job with the mood! Really immersed me into the game, felt like I was playing a thought out indie game that wasn't made in one week. It was truly an experience, one of the best games in terms of originality and mood. I'm looking forward to seeing you make more of this!
Thank you so much! We worked really hard on this, though I think we could have polished it up just a bit more and made something really special. It's something to think about for next time.
Wonderful game, I really loved its noir aesthetic and your unique take on the theme!
I had some issues with the build but I don't know if they are related to my hardware or to the game itself: after the necklace case the game broke a bit. A chair and a table remained on scene over the main menu to disappear in the level selection screen, then when I finished the knife case the newspaper was stil about the necklace.
Great work anyway, really! The voice acting was amazing.
Whoa. That's not supposed to happen. lol. Thanks for letting us know!
Happy to help! Keep up the good work!
I can't put into words how brilliant i found this idea , really great game , overall the best one i've played hands down ! good job!
Thanks for the awesome praise! It's so great hearing that people like our work.
omg its so funny. I had a little bit of difficulty playing. its so hard for me xD

What a fantastic game! You nailed every aspect of this jam, such a clever take on the theme, really phenomenal work.
Very evil! I especially liked that after the manipulation you hear the new audio. Nice background graphics, not distracting but calming
Great game, very entertaining
Great game. I liked the idea. Fun to play!
This game is really cool.Presentation is increadible it makes you feel like you are really a detective.Overall great game :)
Thanks so much!
Wow! This is super polished. I like everything I've seen - the only problem was that I was confused about how to get passed the how to play section as I thought I was correctly recording the guy's name. I was using the Web Gl version so I'm not sure if it's my mistake or the web gl versions, but either way this is still great.
It honestly might have just been an audio bug in the WebGL version. Unity really fought us at the end there with the Web implementations.
Yeah I hear that, developing for web can be so finicky.
I enjoyed the puzzle aspect especially on the two and three star entries. The aesthetic was also great and consistent throughout. Great job
Thanks! We weren't sure how many people would attempt the hardest difficulty level, but I'm glad to see you got it!
Very nice concept and engaging gameplay! The theme rewind shows very much throughout the game. It would've been great to be able to select the words you want with the audio part playing through, or be able to switch already recorded with the word next to it. Then again, that's not how tape recorders work, and stuck with the theme :)
Awesome job!
Thank you!
This is probably the best game jam game I've ever played. I absolutely love the idea, the voice acting, everything. My only problem is that at times the visual for the words rewinding can be a little buggy, and it feels like you're fighting the controls somewhat a lot of the time. It would be nice if you mapped the rewind/record/play buttons to keyboard inputs instead of (or in addition to) the clickable UI buttons in the game right now. I feel like it's much more satisfying when the challenge comes from figuring out how to frame the person rather than wrestling with the currently kinda awkward and imprecise button controls. Still though, this game is genuinely amazing. I also really appreciate cat mode.
Hey, thanks for playing the game! The buttons are mapped to the WASD and Space, but you had to click on settings to see that and we probably should have made it clearer. *meow*
Ah, I was wondering if I was missing something. Great job.
Great audio and interesting gameplay, really like it (and cat).
Awesome game! I really enjoyed the atmosphere you set up, it felt really unique compared to a lot of games submitted. On critique is that the rewind sound itself can be really grating on the ears sometimes, I think because of how high pitched it is!
Good critique. I'll make sure to keep that in mind next time!
Neat.
