In what way does your game fit the theme?
if you get hit by the Time Wizard your character will rewind. Also some blocks rewind back when it falls off or gets destroyed.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I did not made the sfx and the font used in this game. anything other than that was made by me during the jam.

Cool idea! I liked how quickly the game reset, which is definitely needed for how difficult the platforming/dodging was. I'd also suggest to not reset the music every time you die - it gets a little bit repetitive. Great work on the game!

Love how it looks and sounds, but I didn't like how it played, so I unfortunately didn't get farther than the second level.

The player's gravity feels a bit whacky at times (he just kinda floats down) , and the lack of any coyote timing means it feels like my jump input gets dropped half of the time when I jump off a platform (and I plummet to my doom). Not to mention the rewind would occasionally dump teleport me forward again seemingly at random, so it was extremely hard to predict how I was supposed to move.

The game looks great though, I love the art and the effects, and I think the concept of the rewind being more detrimental than beneficial. It's a very refreshing take on the mechanic.

Interesting concept, a little bit frustrating which made it fun. The graphics are cute and the audio is fitting. I like how the player rewinds when hit, its a pretty interesting concept. Actually it would also be cool where you make it as any time you are hit/ defeated you rewind instead? Like a witch following you all the time is a little annoying. Just some suggestions. Nice game tho!

I liked the art work and the core concept of your game :)

Things to improve on would be a tutorial level and some tighter player movement they feel a bit floaty.

Well done!

If you could rate our game it would be much appreciated :)

I like the idea of AVOIDING the rewind instead of using it as a bonus however the controls felt very weird and it wad difficult to understand that some of the blocks were destroyed and no longer able to stand on. Great work but further testing would make this game great!

Very nice graphix. Controls were awful so i didnt enjoy much but it had great idea. please make your controls are good if you make platformer

Very cool! This is the first game i've seen where rewind is a hazard, very clever idea. The sprite art was great as well. I actually liked that the jump was a little floaty because it helped dodge the wizard rewind spell. Fun game. Please check out my game if you haven't :D

Nice game! Is a good idea, and I like the implementation of the art and the lights, but the movement is a kind of weird, you feel the jump not that responsive and the speed of the movement is too fast considering the speed of the jump and the falling time, and that makes the game hard, I also think that I can move while rewinding, but not at control. Maybe a bit more of control about how you move or how you can a recover after you get rewinded.

But over all great work!

I really liked the implementation of the rewinding mechanic.

However I didn't like the movement at all. It seemed to be very choppy and sometimes my jump commands got swallowed (might be just my mechanical keyboard).

I would like to encourage you to be a little more generous with the player. Let them do an air jump after the rewind to save themselves and make the tiles you stand on last a little longer.

Really enjoyed it although it can be a bit frustrating having to redo the stuff you've already done. A lot of games in this jam are based off of that mechanic and like I said, it becomes a bit dull. At least in this game you don't start from the very beginning when the wizard hits you. Overall, very solid game! Keep at it.

I like how the theme was implemented. It's a great idea! The only problem I had was the player's speed, he goes too fast and sometimes he is not able to jump because of that, and makes it kinda hard to keep control. Level 2 was very hard because of that.

Still, it's a fun game!

Absolutely love this game. The art is neat, the BGM is soothing and the concept is clever. One thing to fix might be the jump, it feels off for some reason. But overall it's a great game o(^▽^)o

Super cute sprites and super cute music. Super cute game!

I like the idea! So many games just kill you when you get hit by an enemy, so it's nice to see a fresh take on that. The rewind part itself was clear and well executed. I found the character a bit too fast and the jump was a bit too floaty, making a weird sense of not being in too much control, which sucks since the levels require so much precision. Overall, great job, and I'd love to see more.

Nice game, quite difficult specially when you get hit by the wizard.

Good Job.

My game is a casual game if you wanna rate is https://misterm.itch.io/mixtape-match , Thanks

I really liked how you added the rewind, and that you mustn't only complete the level, but also dodge the bullets.Good Job!

I like the mechanic of 'Time Wizard' rewinding your character. The one issue with the game I had was the gravity, the jump feels floaty. The way you can fix this is by lowering the character's gravity the longer the player holds the 'jump' key.

The graphics were cool and the sound was good. The rewind orb thingy felt almost impossible to dodge. The second level was very hard so perhaps a slower transition in difficulty is needed. I like how if the orb touches the broken bricks it fixes them.

Good use of particle effects. I really like the platforms that come back. Music was nice but too short and repetitive. It was challenging at times but the restart is quick so I managed to beat it even if I died a whole lot. It's nice that you changed it up a little on the last level too.

Neat, I think this is the first time i've seen rewind be the enemies weapon instead of a players tool!
Unfortunately level 2 seems to have some poor design as it's nearly impossible to get through... If the devs were the play testers, just remember that the developers of the game always make the worst testers as they know everything about the game and how to play. When they feel it's too easy, they ramp the difficulty and play test some more, leading to a difficulty creep.

It was a neat concept though! The blocks you stand on have great applications and balance pretty well with the rewind

Developer

Play testing was the hardest part in making this game because no one got to play them  a lot
