I wrote all the code and made the art, but the fonts and audio came from free online libraries.

pretty cool! it was pretty challenging to use the flashlight, but it's a very cool game nonetheless, good job! :3

Marvellous lightwork! My word, can you imagine if I had to walk my grandmother to her counsellor through hordes of invisible shadow-men? Surely I would be the one in need of counsel by the end of it.

Cool! The gameplay was fun, the camera made me worry whats behind me(like it should) and the music helped add on to the mood. Well done!

Thanks!

You did a great job in finding a core gameplay element (the field of view / flashlight) and building the whole game on it, it felt really consistent. My favourite were DW weeping angels, it really did a twist on the "don't point your flashlight at stuff" priority once I realized they stop when I look at them, but raise my stress.

I also liked the visual style, very simple and readable, but still enjoyable.

Personally, I think you could put the short narrative and mechanical introduction in the beginning of the gameplay itself (with the option to skip it). On my first play, I went straight to playing the game and didn't even think about clicking on any other button in the menu, and ended up missing all the important information about my goal, my enemies, etc.

I intend to merge the story into the game as some sort of tutorial after the jam.

Thank you for the feedback!

Creepy game!

I really liked this and enjoyed that you found multiple ways to utilize the looking mechanism. Very impressive!

Thanks!

I like the idea a lot, needs some work but I think it has some potential.

This mechanic is a great idea! I'm a Doctor Who lover as well, btw! XD

The graphics are pretty cool, the concept needs some work, but its great!

I enjoyed playing this! The monsters are so creepy. I wish there's some way to fight back especially at the park where it's really hard to go through.

Developer

I half developed some battle mechanics, but to fit the theme I made it so every time you hit someone it increased the spawn ratio of enemies, because of the whole "engaging with the creatures will make them stronger", but due to time I had to scrap it. Might add after the Jam tho.

Thanks for the feedback!

Well made! The assets you made are not bad!

Thanks!

Love the concept, could definitely see this going further with more time, the torch felt a little odd to handle but other than that I enjoyed myself.

Developer

I spent quite some time in the camera follow mechanics but I couldn't quite get it. I'll work more on it after the Jam.

Thanks for the feedback!

I played through it and didn't find a single cat! :(

I like the concept. Would have liked if creatures couldn't hurt me when I'm not looking at them (with the exception of the weeping angels) and put more focus on the "Don't look at them"-part of the game.

Developer

Yeah, I intended to make more phases, with a few serving as tutorials for the player to learn how to interact with each kind of creature, but due to time I couldn't finish it. I'll try to add some after the jam tho.

Thanks for the feedback!

Pretty cool idea, would definitely recommend you continue to work on this. A few key issues did pop up in the short time I was playing, 1) when you die and press replay, you have to press replay again for the UI to disappear, and 2) if you move too quickly you can outpace the camera, making it near impossible to play. Definitely try to get these ironed out, and then you'll have a solid foundation.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'll work on that after the jam.

Loved the game! I gotta say the park enemies spawning in front of you at first bugged me but then realized it was a welcoming challenge as the spawn wasn't random.

Developer

I think I might've put too many crying statues in the park :/

I liked the atmosphere of the game, but the hitboxes of enemies were weird sometimes..

Nice atmosphere! +10 points for including the cat. Not sure what it did, but it definitely made me feel better :D

Developer

The cats decrease your stress level a little bit while you look at them. It might be too little tho, I'll work with the values after the jam.

Thanks for the feedback!!!

Very atmospheric and addictive game!)

Developer

Thanks!!

Cool retro vibe, I like the audio. I think a map would be a great addition. Nice job!

Developer

Yes! I felt the same. I'll put a map after the jam.

Thanks for the feedback!!

This literally gave me chills! Nice work making an unsettling mood! It wasn't super clear what to do or where to go. Does each enemy have a different way they interact with the light? I wasn't quite sure, but I was sure creeped out! lol
