You can tell a lot of effort went into this game. Nice work

How does you game fit the theme?
It plays with the concept of mimics which are not real objects but are indeed monsters and also the story might not be what it seems
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All the code was made from scratch and we used humble bundle and unity asset store assets for the art and music

I love the story its just so nice. I like the atmosphere in the game and art is very nice too. Gave it a 5 star for everything would appreciate you if you do the same to my game :) it'd be a huge help.
I like the finishing touches of the crosshair cursor, flashlight flickering from time to time, and your cursor going away when you dont need it. The lighting also really brings out the atmosphere. Though gameplay wise, I found myself just endlessly wandering around trying to find the next door or intractable to get. I was also just shooting at every furniture because I could. Perhaps there could be some limitations like needing to reload your gun (or even limited ammo) so that the player would feel more powerless and the game would have more tension. The mimic furniture could also shift places whenever you aren't looking or when you enter a different room.
Spooky game indeed... Managed to jump scare me a couple of times.
The only complaint is that it is not always clear what you have to do next
This was amazing! I can't play scary games, but this one kept me going because I was curious to see what it was all about! I only have two suggestions: The player's collider is too big. Making only the feet collide would be better for this perspective. And some more feedback. For example, when trying to open doors you could add a sound to indicate that they are locked. The most confusing part for me was the book shelf one, because the book shelf was also lit up and I tried to keep interacting with it, with no success xD But really, great game! I love some good storytelling ^^
Its really nice to hear feedback about the story. When writing such things you never really know if its actually a good idea or if you are the only one who thinks so lmao. Also I have already reduced the collider to the feet and its so much better, and I added text to doors in order to let players know the door is locked and needs a key, I also added text to let people know they need to collect items for the book shelf. A few other changes were done too like adding skip buttons and ways to speed up the text.
Im glad you liked it and the new version will go up after the jam. Thank you!
Rated!, great atmosphere and art, nothing else to complain about, just a job well done :D
also, will you help rate mine too?, I really appreciate every single one! Thanks! XD

I liked the atmosphere that you created and it was always a surprise, to see which objects came to live. I also really liked that the respawn was always relatively close to where you died,
The collisions were sometimes a bit clunky and from the perpective of the game I would have preferred it if only the "feet" of the player would collide with objects. I alsothink centering the text in the dialog boxes would make them look a bit better and easier to read.
Good job on the game :D
There are a few hints on what you need to do, specifically a note on the floor but with just a bit of exploring on the second floor you can find what you are looking for, The way up is indeed closed until you deal with something and that something is in one of the rooms up there. Would love to hear your thoughts again if you decide to give it another go since that was just the start of the game
Unfortunately we cant make changes now which is a shame, but what I did do is update the version that will be uploaded after the jam.
Added skip button to the prologue and a way to speed up the text being typed out by holding space down so its faster if you wish.
I removed the start game button from the prologue scene and had it load after the final sentence has been finished
I added more information to allow players to know that doors are locked and that they need keys to open, and other things that might need more explaining to players.
And a few more things to make the game better overall.
Thank you for the suggestions, now I feel the game is slightly better overall.
I enjoyed the game. You jump scared me once!
My main critique is the hit boxes. They cover the entire sprites, but it should cover less (so I can go behind a chair or standing lamp, for example).
hey. I remembered your game from watching your stream when you were still working on it :) like I said then already I really love the style. But to be fair I'm still in love with the fire breathing lama :D
Great mood, art and story telling. Can't complain about much. Only suggestion is make the movement speed a tad faster.
This game does a good at telling a story. Pixelart did fit quite well. There were minor collision issues but they didn't matter much! Nicely done!
This game is really good at playing with atmosphere and intense story.
The storytelling is what stands out here, the unexpected elements of surprise (not going to spoil anything) really add to the intensity of the game. The art is decent, at some points there are inconsistencies (for example the UI) between pixel art and vector art. The sound design was fitting though.
Overall a quite interesting game.
The game has cool mechanics with light. The music does its job, if you play with the lights off in the room it becomes quite atmospheric. An interesting plot. Graphics in the game deserved 10
You are very good at creating tension, atmosphare and story. Graphic and sound feel very harmonic. The only 1%-Picky-Issue are the message boxes. I would prefere them to be in pixel style too. I didn't complete the game but I would love to get back to it and see how it ends.
I did consider it looking out of place, its a shame I didnt switch it to something more fitting. Thank you for the comment and letting me know about it. I'm glad you liked it! I changed the dialogue box to something more fitting ready for the update after the game jam ends.
Thank you for the feedback!
I love the horror vibes in this game, reminds me of RPG maker horror games from back in the day!
Sadly I got stuck after the second key. It also seems like you didn't use point rendering in unity which made the pixel art look blurry. Those things could be easily fixed and then you have a nice little horror game!
The horror vibes are what we wanted to give so glad you liked that part, for the second key you need to find the door for it so i belive a bit of exploring will give you the results and for the sprites we did use point rendering and it looks good on our end so I don't really know whats going on but we'll look into it.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback
