How does you game fit the theme?
Everytime he dies, he goes back to day 1 but its actually not the first day 1. That's why he collect back MagiCore from Mgstones.
Spoilers
If I can make it on time. It's actually a story about a mad engineer who went rogue after loss of his children. He kills other people that he thinks they are monster.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
3 pieces of sprites and few SFX are not owned by me but rest is drawn and made by me. About all the codes, I did not take any ready-written code to challange myself. Several times I looked up Brackey's videos to fresh up my memory. If you ever get my project while I will be too emberassed to explain all the messy code. I had to be on time.

It was fun.. this is the first time I saw tower defense in brackeys game, and it was more entertaining, the only I get bored, first the enemy is slower, but it is more engaging when it becomes more harder.. that was super nice
i am happy that you enjoyed it. Its my first time and did not know this genre was not popular here!
One of my favorite game. The concept mostly like tower defense, the difficulty gets down everytime a a tower being build, overtime you left-clicking less. The enemy is slower when early to make this more to easy-medium. And the environment is great, fitting the feel and mood. It feels polish a lot. An excellent job.
Woaa! Thank you! It feels amazing to be in a favorite game list. I appreciate it. These comments make me realise i did something worth attention!
i wish to continue the development. I already have a road map!
Very interesting concept! Nice use of sound and the design made tower defense games more engaging. Keep it up!
thank you! It is encouraging to see people understanding what i tried to do.
It was a nice game, i like the atmosphere and the sound effects, but i didn't really catch the game mechanics until my daughter was about to die :'( But i think this one has great potential!
Btw, i have just rated your game, I hope you can do the same with mine!
Yes, I've already rated your game but I may have missed to comment! If I have time I will do that too! Sorry it was a busy day.
It is nice to see the tower defense genre as well in this jam! It was fun to play and I think you can work out this concept even further. I especially like that you physically have to go around and build the towers yourself!
Thank you for your feedback. I have gotten a lot of responses regarding need of tutorial and some bugs! I should fix them right after the gamejam
I really like the feeling of this one. First tower defence Game so far for me :D I like it!
Thank you! I hope you enjoyed it!
I liked the atmosphere and use of sound very much. A little more and you would have a wonderful sandbox area to execute this tower defense hybrid. Keep up the good work. Congrats..=)
Thank you for your kind words! I am not a good artist so it took 2 days to come up with a tilemap and some pixel art. Which resulted in not giving enough time for programming which also resulted in some major bugs. I hope you enjoyed it t ho!
I like having a player who runs around in tower defense and I like being able to attack the monsters myself. I would definitely try and work on conveying to the player when a hit lands, like by changing the color of the monster temporarily and have a hit sound play. The cost of building towers was a bit ambiguous and the exchange rate of wood to magicores is a bit steep, I would recommend having the price adjust every time the player makes a purchase.
Thanks for playing the game! I hope you liked it and worth your time.
-MagiCore increases and actually later in the game after build 3rd tower it feels like game is finished because towers are too OP.
-Instead of changing the prices or making them cheaper, I will have upgrade system for player, towers and the house which will also provide you a permenant perk of higher rate of dropping MagiCore. Permenant upgrades will be available during run time of the game. So when you die and it restarts its still there which will give you a rogue-like aspect.
-I realised that people don't realise they are hitting. Thank you for advicing that. I was thinking to add color change and writing damage above them.
Thank you for your interest!
I was very glad to play your game and I think it shows a lot of potential considering what you got done in a short amount of time. Keep up the good work!
Yup, the game has a ton of potential, really looking forward to the updates ^^ Great job
Thank you for your time! Appreciate the comment. I will make sure to fix bugs and get a decent tutorial.
Overall I like the game. I think that it could use a bit more of a tutorial or how to play though, it took me a bit to figure out what was going on. I really like how you did the lighting!
Thanks! I am sorry for the major bugs. Such a vibe killer. However, if you like the game make sure come back after the jam! I will make sure it works fine
honestly I didn’t notice any bugs. I hit F5 as instructed when I died though
Lovely! Thanks!
The ligthing and the atmosphere is really good, and I find the music fit well, but I think you should put more hints to the game because at first I find it quite hard especially the map I only find the daugther when the enemey is already swarming but overall good job!
thanks for the insights. For now i have added a part in description regarding hints!
Keep it up and good luck :D
Really intriguing idea and atmosphere! I did have trouble following what I needed to do and what order. Maybe some tutorial UI in the beginning instructing how to build your first tower ?
I have taken notes of people. Everyone tells me that I should be placing a good tutorial to instruct people. I didn't think of it.
The art is really good looking and the atmosphere is well executed.
I have to be honest, I really had a hard time understanding what to do, I kept collecting wood but I didn't know what to do with it. I would suggest more hints on what the player has to do.
Also the first time I lost I did not understand why, as I did not see the daughter's life points. I think you should make the UI bigger or tell the player where to look for.
The magicore/magistone part needs some rethinking in my opinion, I only understood after reading through comments that I could get magicores back from that big stone hidden on the map.
Overall, it's a good take on the defense tower genre and I liked the story aspect you gave to the game. Good job.
I would appreciate it if you could also try and rate the game my team made for the jam:

Thanks for the fun I had ;)
Thank you for all the insights. UI is my weakness. And, for me it takes somet ime to fight it off. I have written a temporary hints in the game description section. I hope you had some fun!
it's simple but fun to play actually, something kept me playing. but after day 2-3 and 3 towers, I was invincible and there is nothing to do, I'm on day 7 and I already have 400 woods and 70 magiCores, maybe if you add more options to make the player think what is the best possible option. I like the lighting and ambiance but I'd like it more if the light was in the direction of the mouse.
I think I can not change or add gamefiles until we are done with the jam. Until then, i will be updating and upgrading the game.
Thank you for your insights! I will be working on more content and more challenging game environment.
This was a fun tower defense game! I love the story also!!
Really great job ^^b
Thank you for your kind words! I wish to be able to express the story better next time!
The art, ambience, lighting, core gameplay, story and SE's are of top tier, thus making the game one of the most immersive in this Game Jam for me! I lost twice and played until wave 5!
It was a little difficulty to understand how everything worked at first, but once I did, I had genuine fun playing this. I think a tutorial wave visually explaining the mechanics would be really nice. As for the gameplay polishment, I found some issues, though I don't know if some of them are intended or not:
- Combat: Despite of having an attack animation when you click, the player apparently can't deal or receive damage.
- Difficulty: Game starts at a decent difficulty. However, after you build 2~3 towers, all you have to do is sit down and watch the monsters die. That's why I stopped in wave 5, because I assumed that I've beat the game.
- Economy: Magical Cores are expensive and very rare, while also being required in large quantities to build your main constructions. Sometimes the monsters drop lots of them, which is good, but normally they never drop it. I wonder if they have a low drop rate or if they should always drop them. If they are supposed to always drop it, then forget this issue.
- House (Immersion): When the monsters does reach the little girl, nothing happens. I think it would be a good ideia to place some barricades around the house (as a visual), because it's strange to see that the girl doesn't really care about the invasors.
- UI: some texts never disappears from the screen after you interact with them.
- Upgrades: I couldn't upgrade any building.
Don't let this list scare you. Your game feels really complete and has lots of features, that's why my full review is also long!
Overall, I think your game is one of the most potencial in this Game Jam: it's really fun, immersive and replayable and, despite of having a few issues, it deserves a very high rating in every category! Nice job!
This was the most detailed and educational feedback I have ever given! I appreciate your time you spent for my game. I really wanted to make people have fun and go around. I am so happy that you took your time to write a review like this! It worths the entire week I spent on this. And, let me answer some of the issue you've mentioned below.
-Combat: Enemies have 100 HP and player damage is 5. However, since it was a last minute mechanic, i couldn't add anything other than sound to state you have inflicted damage on them. Thanks for this, this provided me to have nice update ideas!
-Difficult: You are right about the difficulty. I didn't have enough testings to optimize the gameplay. The game will change the enemy health over time too. And in the future more enemy types and tower types are going to be there.
-Economy. MagiCores are quite expensive and it has drop chance of 12%. Until you build your second tower players have a lot of problem to fight off. MagiCore meant to be rare to acquire however upcoming updates will get you a "permenant" upgrade (even when you die you will have the perk) where you double your chances of acquiring them.
-House: This will have other updates too regarding to upgrade. However, its not priority for now but I will note your advices!
-UI: This part is my archenemy. I think UI is one of the hardest thing to pull of to have decent view of everything. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it on time to prepare a good one. I have some ideas but it always bothers me how things feel out of place.
-Upgrades: Woocutters have an upgrade option however the trigger regarind to that has some issues. I should have play tested properly but I updated the gamefiles like 2 mins before the deadline. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
My personal feelings were telling me that i don't deserve much. But your words were so kind and lovely. These moments make me want to create more games and creative worlds!
i really liked the idea and how the game looked
the gameplay felt satisfying too
good job man
Thank you for your kind words! Once I am done with final updates and release 2 weeks later, I hope it deserves more attention!
I liked the idea and the game looks very promising. However for some reason I was not able to build anything. I collected enough wood and magic core and went to build but the Game keeps saying "You need -X wood".
That's a common bug I have. I am sorry for that. If you go to the MagiStone and bring the girl to the safehouse, you should not have that. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Game is still playable tho if you feel like trying again. Once you get use to it i promise its fun!
Thanks.! I will try it again. I did bring the girl to the safehouse but didn't know anything about MagiStone.
I found the MagiStone but unfortunately it didn't help for long. There might be some other things influencing the bug. Now I needed "-1 Magic Core".
This is only a guess but you should check the amount with "greater to" instead of "equal to"
e.g. like this ---> if (magiccore=>5)
NOT like this ---> if (magiccore==5)
I am quite careful with that but since I stayed till morning while fixing bugs I forgot the check it. I usually use that instead of "==" There might be another script intercepting the methods.
Hi there! Nice game for a jam! Good graphs & the idea is nice.
Maybe you can put more MagiCore next time in the beginning so the player can start building something and having fun quicker.
Yeah! You can actually collect total of 3. But third one must be collected from the MagiStone. I should make a tutorial where it shows how you can collect your magicores after you die and going to MagiStone. Next time I will work on that after I am done with it Thank you for the advice!
The atmosphere is fitting. Cool take on the theme. Unfortunately ran into a bug where I couldn't build a tower even if I had the right resources. Keep up the good work!
