How does you game fit the theme?
We tried to fit the theme by focusing on anxiety. Anxiety comes from worrying about things that could happen but have not yet. These events are "not real" and may never be real, hench the connection to the theme.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, just not the music

It gave me anxiety, I think you manage to reach the goal. Well done!

Developer

Thanks!

Nice take on the theme. The only thing I'd say is it gets a bit overwhelming with so many orange boxes at the start. But otherwise good job!!

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback!

Woah I was overwhelmed with all of that orange boxes at first. Cool game!

I didn't really understood some part of the boss fight but overall it is interesting.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Yeah it's a little weird lol.

Happy to be the 20th person to rate your game! :)

The gameplay was simple but fun and you managed to use the basic shapes well. Extra points for the option to adjust mouse sensitivity, that issue seems to come up a lot with first-person games.

As for the typing effect on the texts, I would recommend adding an option so when it's typing and you press E you don't skip the dialogue but the typing effect for that part. I like to read all of them, but usually just press E/space/click to skip to the point where I can see all of it.

Also, at some point I fell through the game floor, is that part of the design or a bug?

Developer(+1)

Thanks, #20 :)

Mouse sensitivity was from feedback from a previous game actually lol. Yeah, I got you on the dialogue, next time. I've never had the fall through the floor bug. I'd have to look into that more. I have found that sometimes I die unexpectedly by falling off the little area or from a cube that comes from out of the view range unexpectedly.

Thanks for the feedback!

Very fun game!

Cool game, however you should improve the jump because sometimes it does not work

Developer

Agreed lol :/ thanks for playing!

Fun game! A bit challenging at the beginning, but once I got used to the controls and camera it was really entertaining. Great job!

Developer

Nice! Thanks for playing.

I liked it! The attack ability is well done. One thing I didn't like is the jump seems blocked sometimes. I wanted to jump over the boxes and sometimes it didn't work.

Developer

Yeahhh I don't know why it does that. For sure need to fix it. Thanks for playing!

The idea is creative and it's really challenging, but it really is fast doesn't lag, the thing I wanted to see in my game, and the graphics are simple yet they create a pleasant environment and the audio makes it most pleasant! great job

would appreciate some feedback on my game too ;)   https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1418965

I liked how the simplicity of meditation shown with the graphics, contrast with how challenging the game is.

Thanks for playing!

Fun little game. I can't play it for too long, because motion sickness, but the character controls nicely. :)

Developer(+1)

Interesting, I was wondering if that would happen to anyone. I was surprised it did not happen to me lol. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I'm not sure what happened. Other people seem to have been able to play but when I played I ran around in the desert for a little while and wasn't able to see any blue thing. I was unsure what I was supposed to do at that point :(

Developer (1 edit)

hmm that's weird there was not a little light blue thing like in the gif's? It should be straight in front of you when you first start in the ground. When you walk up to it a chat bubble will pop up and you click through that to start.

interesting idea and concept

would like to see this expanded on

great game overall

Developer

Thanks! Glad you liked it.

Nice, this was pretty cool! I liked how the cubes were physics based, it made the deaths really satisfying. One thing I would recommend is slowing down the camera controller and movement. Other than that, great Job.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Love the cuby desert setting. Walking / (strafe-)jumping / shooting feels really nice. The fight with lots of cubes at once feels pretty epic, with those sweet sweet lightning animations.

Would love a quick replay option (as I die quickly). The three lives no redoes feels a bit harsh in combination with going through the dialogue. The game made me a bit anxious for sure, but the connection to the theme feels a little vague.

Thanks for creating this, really nice work!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! There was not much time for play testing unfortunately. You can "skip" the dialogue in the beginning after the first bubble by just quickly clicking E.  A quick replay option would definitely be nice.
