How does your game fit the theme?
Even if you get to the clock, it's not the end. You race yourself to get to the orange juice before yourself.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No, some assets and music and sfx is from assets.

cool idea lol totally original haha jkjk but ya good execution on the pump shotgun mechanic although because the background was all one color I found myself not knowing which direction I was facing. I like the race yourself idea but as long as you go slow the first time you can always win buuuut I think their are some ways around that
ah yes, but thanks!
Yeah, definitively NOT Karlson that's a totally original game !
But still, I liked it, and I can tell there is a lot of effort put here. But sometimes, it gets pretty confusing to me, and I get a bit lost. But the levels are pretty straightfoward.
Thanks!
12 fully 3D levels in a jam game? You're mad! But in a good way!
The music was pretty cool and the actual concept of racing against yourself was pretty neat!
However, the graphics for this game were pretty basic and placeholder-y. They weren't really my favourite. I can kind of see a memey theme going on here, with the among us and title, but if you remove that aspect, the game presents pretty averagely.
The actual animation of going back to the start felt a little slow. A quick zoom akin to RE:RUN would've felt much snappier. Or even gutting the animation entirely.
I also find it weird that when your past self finishes a level, the run doesn't just end prematurely. That type of thing probably would've made a bit more sense for this race-against-the-clock style of game.
In terms of controls, I think they could be streamlined a bit by having the player run automatically. Pressing and holding shift just adds an extra step that I don't think is necessary for the kind of game this is.
Basically, I think the concept is unique and effort is very present in the fact that there are 12 fully 3D levels in this jam game, but the actual presentation as a whole feels a bit lazy. I still enjoyed the concept and had a bit of fun, though!
Thanks for the feedback!
Liked the concept (racing against yourself) and the mechanics! (who doesn’t love a grappling hook?)
I would agree that the mechanics are a little finicky though, I made it as far as the level with the red floor where you have to grapple 3 times and I just couldn’t figure out a consistent way to do it :(
Also, I don’t know if it was intended, but if the level was hard I just waited to get the clock on the first run to give myself enough time on the second :P
Fun game!
sorry, but thanks!
Really cool concept, speedrunning against your prior self - made it really fun and challenging! I wish there was a way to tweak the settings in game as the sensitivity was a bit hard to adjust to and I had to quit 3 times to find the right setting. Love the music and gameplay loop, fun way to use weapons too and who doesn't like orange juice :)
great job!
Thanks for the feedback lol!
very cool game little bit unhandy but i like it.
Thanks!
Nice game, I miss Dani.
same, hope he will come back soon.
Really nice game! I liked playing it.
The game design was unique, and the game mechanic of going back in time was very awesome, I wonder how you manage to create that
Also, if you want to play my game too! :)
Thanks!
really cool game i liked the idea of racing yourself!!
Thanks man!
It's a fun game, it's an interesting idea but it kinds makes the player take it easy the first time round to make it easier later.
The music is a good fit, and I like that sometimes you see an easier path whilst doing your first attempt which u can use later, thats good game design. Well done!
true, I didn't really know how to fix it.
fun but controls were a little too finicky
thanks!
That game was definitely not Karlson :) Nice music, i am not a platformer/speed run player. - perhaps I just didn't drink enough milk.
Here is my (first) game entry, check it out if you like: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-9/rate/1932821
lol, it's obv not karlson
The concept is cool but it doesn't work really well, because you can just stand still for a few seconds to make it easier for the future self to beat. Also I don't quite like the table with the juice, because a lot of times I ended up with juice falling down from the level. Otherwise than that, it is fun to play
Thanks for the feedback!
I didn't understand how to play even after reading the instructions. My "Rewinded" self was always faster regardless of if I went slow on the first trial. It really could use some polish on the physics, but still I like the idea you tried to implement.
Sorry about that, but thx!
It's okay man, because I know next time you'll just do something better.
thanks man!
Neat game! Movement and mechanics could use a bit of polish.
Thx bro!
Pls turn mouse sensivity to minimum by default
Nice game, just need some polish haha
yeah sorry mb. But thanks man!
Ahh I forgot to rate this cause I played it before the rating started so I did now. Again very nice work on the mechanics and the levels. p.s. I found the shotgun trick haha. Also for some feedback, next time try to maybe use some elements from the asset store to make the stages more realistic and nicely looking for graphics (this has nothing to do with the coding part just for cooler level graphics). You can check asset store there are a lot of free cool assets that you can include.
lol, thx man!
I found it confusing. I liked the first few levels but the game needs some polish and bug fixing, good job though!
Thanks bro!
Idea was nice but you could easly cheat game by not taking clock for another 10 seconds
Thanks for the feedback!
I like the game mechanic, I like the game story and the graphic they are really nice :)
would play my game and rate it according
Thanks man!
