How does your game fit the theme?
So ughhh its in like this post-apocalypse time period and the world is like starting anew, and also you play this guy who was killed when the nuclear war started and he's like resurrected as a living slime so it's like a new start for him.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yeah, all music was made using 1BitDragon, all sound effects were made using SFXR, all sprites - using Aseprite and all the code was done using my hands.

This game has really great vibe. Feels like I'm peacefully walking at summer evening except it's post-apocalyspe and there are enemies everywhere.

Wanted to get into story but text was very small and hard to read. Also dash is kinda too long so I ended up almost not using it.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! :D

If you open the game in full-screen it fixes the dialogue.

This game has a great mood, and visually it all connects together. The dialogue is great, and the light-hearted story about recovering a toothbrush amidst a nuclear wasteland is hilarious.

Regarding feedback, I found little reason to fight enemies until the last boss. After a few tries, I ended up avoiding them completely and just dashing across the whole game until I got to the boss. Also, when you die, it'd be cool if something changed.

The boss fight was straightforward but engaging, took me a couple tries because I was getting there low on life, but all in all it was satisfying. Playing the game was a lot of fun, great work! I remember seeing your progress on discord!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I kinda realized fighting enemies was kinda meaningless to the end of the development, so I added some obstacles as well :D

I actually do want to finish this project after I'm done with my current one, and give it more of a metroidvania feel, so I'll def work on that!

(I already have most of the code ready for stuff like shops/inventory/powerups from my last projects :D)

Finding of a toothbrush was meant to be like a prologue to this whole story of exploring the world, but I wouldnt've fit it in 1 week of work ;)

The Game was really fun! But, you try to balance the values of the player movement a bit, they were way too fast and due to the camera, there were a lot of blind jumps. Also on a personal note, the dialogue box was a bit too big.

But overall, a great game and I really like the story!

This was fun to play! The player moves really fast, but this add a lot of fun too
I found the boss, but nothing happened when i defeated them, and when i enter the room again, it just spawn again too
Other than that, it's a good game!

Developer

Thanks!

Yeah, the boss was added like last-minute so I didnt have time to finish it properly :D

Seems incredibly polished for a game jam game! I love your art style and music. And I did find the final boss!

Developer(+1)

Oh nice! Thanks for playing!

Like the game a lot! Artstyle is absolutly awesome :)

Developer

Thamks!

Did u find the last boss? I'm an idiot and made the room scuffed :D

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, unfortuantely I couldn't read the dialogue as it was really small for me. That was probably just a bug on my end though. Otherwise cool game!

Developer

Oh, try enabling full-screen, it fixes the dialogues :D

They got scuffed

The platforming is pretty fun and was able to beat it without shooting!

Developer

But did you find the final boss? :D
I just now realize it's kinda hard to find cuz I messed up making his location xD

Its in the jail, if u climb the right wall

One Slime, One Goal .... finding his toothbrush

This summer in theaters!!.

Had a hard time reloading the gun as i jump to avoid alot of things and for somereason the game was zoomed out and stuff if you dont click the blue fullscreen button.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, that's a bug I could fix with 2 lines of code, but I didnt and now im stuck with that :D
Really had to playtest more xD

Incredible! I saw you developing this on Discord I think. The end result is great! First of all the music and SFX are cool. Then I like the narrative scrolling text at the start to link to the theme. I have to learn how to work with text in this way. Finally, I like the way you used the confiner, I think that's what you used, to create scenes within the scrolling platformer. Makes me think of Flash back and Abe's Oddysee.

Developer(+1)

Oh thanks! I actually had to whip up the music in like 30 mins per track, so it's kinda meh. (Although I couldnt do better if i tried I think xD)

I'm glad you liked it!

Very good

Great job! It's so polished, I wouldn't say this game was made in a week.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks!
I mean I did use some of code I wrote before for utilities like inventory, save-load system and such, but most of the coding, and all the art and sounds were made in this week still!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, I am surprised that you actually finished this game, and in under a week, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! It's still buggy and kinda unfinished, but I did most of what I wanted to do :D

The game looks and feels realy great and there are a lot of machanics for the player to play with. only small thing is that the game is fast, and my slow brain sometimes cant keep up. but this is more a preference thing since other people love fast games.

great work. keep it up ♥

Developer

Thanks!

Great game!

I really love the speed of the game (maybe it’s a little bit too fast though) Graphics are really cool and the mechanics are really smooth. I love that! The theme isn’t really well used in this game, although it’s fine.

Good job!:D

Developer(+1)

Thanks!
Yeah, the theme isn't as much used in the gameplay as it should've been :D

Maybe that's something I could work on if I ever finish the game

Hello,

I like the different movement ability such as climbing, dash or gun jump.

The music fit in pretty good and the graphics are super cool.

The only critique I would make is that the theme is not really integrated to the gameplay.

Overall, nice game.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback!
Yeah, I guess I might've tried to integrate the theme a bit more than just "You go back to life after you die", that was a bit lazy on my part :D

Cool game, interesting story ;D.

The only thing I can critique are the controls - right hand waited on the mouse and left did everything else. Maybe if both hand were on the keyboard and the controls were split between them?

Anyways good game :D

(Be sure to check my game out)

Developer(+1)

Oh thanks for your feedback, I'll def check your game out!
I think it's just customary at this point to have shooting on LMB, plus it gives me some wiggle room to add other functionality if I want to.
I'm glad you liked my game, I worked really hard on it :D
