How does your game fit the theme?
At the end of the game, there is a message from your boss about how this is not the end of your journey, but the beginning.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote every line of code. A friend made the sprites from scratch. I composed the song, and sound effects were taken from assets from the Unity Asset store.

Nice game! Really addicting! Though in my opinion a tutorial was missing and also making the time before the humans dissapear longer would've been great. And after getting the scam coin miner, the noise and archeolegist you just get stuck, atleast I couldn't get past that, but still good job!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! :)

Game is super addictive! Must've played for at least an hour.

It really needs a tutorial, I could luckily gather some info from the photos you posted but some things took me long to understand and a lot probably never found at all.

Music was and graphics were not the best, but the gameloop was very enjoyable. I had a LOT of fun!

Great work!!!

Developer

Thank you so much! :)

Tutorial is definitely top of the priority list for additions.

Submitted

Really cool game, just a bit hard to understand, you could maybe make a tutorial or something to help the player understand a bit more how to play the game. Otherwise, it looks and sounds great, i didn't find any bugs and it was pretty fun to play, great submission !

Also, could you rate my game ?

Developer

The tutorial has been a common request. I plan to release an update before too long which will include a tutorial. Glad you liked the game! And I did rate yours. It was pretty cool. :)

Would be hard to not like your game, even more when it has been made in a single week. Also thanks for rating my game !

Thanks for submitting your game to be played in the stream! You can see my reactions over in the vod down below (yours is the last chapter)

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for streaming the game! I meant to watch it live but I'm glad you sent me the vod. Realtime feedback was much appreciated.  :)

Cool game bro.

This is a very fun little game, I had trouble figuring out the stacking mecanic at first, but then it was relatively easy. I made it to day 22 but couldn't figure out what to do with the noise cards. A tutorial would be nice for people like me who do not play card games so often : D

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Cool thanks for your feedback! If you wanna have another shot at finishing, I wrote a comment containing details about each crafting recipe. Lots of other people also had trouble figuring out what to do.

EDIT: I just saw the game you made! I played it a few days ago and it was super fun :)

Submitted

Thanks, I will give it another shot :D

Submitted

This time it went much better, maybe there could be a mechanism where you discover some recipes after a certain day.

Developer

Good idea! I'll add that to the change list.

Developer(+1)

This was my very first upload to itch.io! I underestimated the amount of time it would take for a noob to set something up, so I'm just now adding screenshots to the page XD

I got hook on the card game element! Really wish there is a double click to collect all same card! it got alittle out of hand with my "scamcoin" farm hahahahaha
I didn't manage to complete the game because the board is flooding with "scamcoin"s xD. I think this game has lots of potential.

Developer

But did you have the PREMIUM Scamcoins tho?? :D

Glad you liked the game, somebody else mentioned their board getting too messy as well. I'll definitely prioritize fixing that. Did you ever find the paranormal forest?

Submitted

i got 100% and 200% (not how something can be more real than 100%real) REAL COIN
Ya I got the forest, unanswer call, tv news and some else (for the name) and PERLIN NOISE! I place my vanilla human and archaeology on the forest.

Developer

So you had the end game, all you do is stack all three paranormal artifacts and then you make a research paper and win.

Submitted

Interesting cool concept. I like the idea how the game starts to introduce player with the mechanic. Personally I don't like that type of games, but graphics, innovation and soundtrack is beautiful for me.

Good job!

(btw I am the 20th rate, so can you repay me and also give me a one?)

Developer

lol sure, thanks!

Submitted

That is a good game concept for this type of game, well done!

Developer

Thank you! :)

Thank you so much for your feedback! Double clicking a card to match it with similar types is a great way to clean up the board! I knew when I built that I wished I had been able to add some feature to let players tidy the board faster, but I hadn't even came up with an idea for a good one. Thanks again for leaving such valuable feedback! :)

I think what I'll end up doing is releasing an update based on player feedback after voting. I'm also trying to start working a hypercasual survival horror game, so I probably won't end up adding much content to For Science, at least for a while.

Developer

Heya! I wanted to link some of my other projects that I've recently uploaded to itch here. If you like For Science, maybe you can try the others after the game jam voting is over :)

Grapplin' Man: https://kevopatra.itch.io/grapplin-man-demo

Tax Evasion Simulator 2013: https://kevopatra.itch.io/tax-evasion-simulator-2013-demo

If you play em, hope you enjoy!

Look, I'm not trying to call you out, and I appreciate that you take the time to comment on other's games, but if you do, please make sure that it is:

a) about something relevant to the creator/game or feedback on it

or b) not just to get people playing your game, it's kind of a scummy thing to do :(

Submitted(+1)

actually I like all games and didn't find any big because I just started and don't know but i like all the games

Submitted(+1)

ok yeah that’s cool, there are just a few people that spam the same thing in peoples games to get theirs seen, so as long as you’re not doing that then you’re fine :)

Submitted

thanks

Nice game! Your take on the theme is quite strange tho lmao.

Fun little card game! and I loved the pixel art

Submitted

it's a good idea with good art!

Developer

Thanks! Your game was fun too!

I absolutely love this game! It fits perfectly in jams theme! Well done!

Developer

Thank you!

Loved it. But as you mentioned here the animation is problem. I thing simple progress bar would work better, it would immediately shows when interaction is possible.

Didn't get to far, I was stuck on too pricey humans.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Submitted

Very cool idea, everything seems to work very well.

Developer

Thanks, liked yours too! :)
