Pretty fun and big game, congrats!
Thanks!
Very innovative game! I had a great time playing it.
A very complete experience: achievements, a shop to buy upgrades or new weapons, customizable character, cool gameplay and 10 challenging levels.
Great submission! Well done!
Glad you liked it!
Had the same problem of space making the browser scroll, but I played from your link and it was pretty cool! It's funny watching everyone just sort of flail their limbs around, and it sure gets hilariously messy when they all bunch up. I liked that there was variety in the weapons and cosmetics.
Glad you liked it! Sorry about the space bug. I will include the alternative link in the description.
Can't play because pressing space makes my browser to scroll down and I lose the game, haha, nice little trick. Otherwise, looks promising.
Sorry about that! A fix is to click on the game area (not on the surrounding window), and then try - tell me if that works!
It doesn't work either, unfortunately :(
I first tried with Chrome and it even doesn't load the main screen (maybe it's some plugin)
Then I tried Firefox and I was able to load the game, but no matter where I click in the game, it doesn't get the focus.
Ah ok. Kinda weird. Worked for everybody else - sorry that u can't play it. If you want to try the game (outside of itch.io), you can play it here: https://n8python.github.io/apolloX/
Thanks for the link! I've finally played properly to your game, and it's amazingly addictive! The graphics are simple but the whole lot of hats made me laugh. Music is AWESOME. And the gameplay and mechanics feels pretty well. Oh boy, I'm hating those harpoons, so annoying, haha. I'm only missing the 200 waves achievement (and the last one, obviously) because at wave 105 my browser started to lag. Very good job anyway!
I'm so glad you liked it! Yeah, the harpoon enemies are really tough - until you get your own harpoon. Cool that you grinded for almost all the achievements. Don't know if you already did this, but you can prevent your computer from lagging (as much), by going to "Settings" and switching the graphics from "Good" to "Fast". Thanks for the kind review!
That was a very interesting idea :-)
Somehow I never felt fully in control of how I was damaging the enemies, but they died. Maybe a health bar on the enemies could help?
Glad you liked the premise.
The best way to damage enemies is by quickly swinging your sword into them. Maybe I should've added health bars lol.
You are clearly going all in on the ragdoll physics, and it is an amusing game. I had trouble controlling the sword - I was poking them but had trouble getting enough force to hurt them. Nice job on all the animations and the tone of the game.
If you like platformers, please try our game.
Glad you liked it! You need to swing the sword in a long ark to deal sufficient damage.
I will try your game, but please don't advertise in other people's comment sections.
When I saw a preview of this game on discord I thought "well, that's silly"... and it is! Every bit silly and fun to play, the enemies crowding on you make your life hard but not frustrating, finding myself shooting away for a while before realising I had no hands (but the shooting sound was there) was hilarious
I'm so happy enjoyed the game! Glad you thought it was humorous!
I don't exactly know why but this game was super fun to play! Hahaha the ragdoll space physics were hysterical to watch. Really nice job, for some improvements, the graphics obviously need a tune up lol but overall the game was fun to play!
Thank you very much! Glad you liked the physics.
As for the graphics, I'm just a terrible artist lol, so I used some crappy free assets and some vector"art" that I made myself. Glad you enjoyed!
Great game, felt like I was playing on Armor Games again
Thanks!
Brilliant. I don' know why I am winning but I am winning and i love it. Great gameplay. Superb soundtrack. Got addicted to slashing everything out there.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it.
hahaha I really enjoyed it, it feels like those io games, silly but you just like it. I also like that it has the shop and achievements and level selection and everything! feels like already a game ready to be published lol
Thank you very much! Glad you liked the `All I Know is That I Must Kill` vibe.
I was one of the people who played a beta of this on discord, and I think you took all of the suggestions to heart! This is a very silly game, and I love it!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed.
Probs the most valuable piece of feedback I received was expanding the viewport. Really helped with the feel of the game.
Thanks to you and others for all the valuable beta testing + feedback!
Rly loved this. It was a bit tough but I retained coins I got on failed levels so it was a 'negative gameplay loop' that helped me buy upgrades so I could get strong enough to beat it.
Kind of wish pure skill had a bit more of a lasting viability since I felt forced to buy upgrades at around level 3 and I think this could have been done to slight improvements w the movement. But overall I had lots of fun once I started cashing in those coins.
Thanks for the feedback. Some early game balancing could definitely go a long way to engaging new players. Just not sure how to get the numbers exactly right - I experimented with it for a few hours (obviously before submitting the game).
The mechanics is fun but, I had issues controlling the sword/spear. Good job!
Thank you! You gain more fine control over a weapon the heavier it is. In the late game (especially with the harpoon), it won't be as much of a problem.
